Private bedroom with queen bed, desk, 32in flat screen TV, Netflix, DVD player, free coffee and tea in kitchen. Game room with SkeeBall, billiards, darts, Foosball. **Please read entire description for answers to all your questions & more! :) **
Plenty of space in my 3000 sq ft 5 bedroom house. Parking only permitted in driveway for whole house rental. Room rental guests will find plenty of free street parking.
I lived in the beautiful Master Suite of this house for a year and a half and still come back to the house each day (and sometimes spend the night), but I recently got married and moved down the street to another house where my husband and I also offer Airbnb rooms! :-)
Now I offer the Master Suite on Airbnb (when I'm not staying in it) and the 4 guest bedrooms in this house. Each of the guest rooms is named for an area of the country: Southwest, Northwest, Midwest, and East.
THIS LISTING IS FOR "The Southwest Room"
If you have questions about the house features, the location of the house, or transportation in the city, please be sure to read the entire description - almost every question you have is answered there! Especially important is the section titled "Getting Around" which explains the very limited public transportation in Las Vegas and offers suggestions for getting around the city. More information is also provided in the detailed Guest Book in your room!
I've had problems with young children not being monitored well enough by previous guests, so please do not inquire or book if you are traveling with someone under 10 years old. Thank you! :)

In my newly remodeled 2800 sq ft 5 bed / 3 bath house I have 4 private guest bedrooms and 2 guest bathrooms. Each bedroom has a queen-size bed, a desk and chair, a ceiling fan, a full set of fresh towels, and 32in. flat panel TV with cable, a DVD player, and Roku with complimentary Netflix access. THIS LISTING IS FOR "The Southwest Room"
The Southwest Room is located on the 2nd floor of the house next to the 2nd floor guest bathroom. The Southwest Room has a very large empty closet with hangers - plenty of room for clothes and luggage. The Southwest Room shares the 2nd floor guest bathroom with the Midwest Room and the Northwest Room. I take cleanliness seriously, so I clean the shared bathroom throughout the week as guests check in and out of the 2nd floor rooms, and I have the whole house professionally cleaned every Thursday. The Southwest Room has a window view of the southeastern desert mountain range (Black Mountain - 5000 ft. peak).
You are welcome to use the shared living spaces (family room, kitchen, game room, laundry room, and patio), but be aware that you will often be sharing the kitchen with me because I love to cook, sharing the laundry room with me because I'm constantly washing house linens, and sharing the game room with me because I love all my games! :-)
I have a printer which is connected to the wireless network and is available for small print jobs (like plane tickets or driving directions).
I have set up a complimentary coffee and tea cart in the kitchen with a selection of flavored teas and regular and decaf coffee. I also have creamer, sugar, honey, and cinnamon for your enjoyment. All I ask is that you use filtered water in the electric tea kettle and in the coffee maker, and that you clean the coffee maker after each use. :-)
Hotels offer a mini bar or a vending machine for those times when you're too tired or too rushed to get to the grocery store or a restaurant. In similar fashion, I have created "Jillian's Convenient Market" in the kitchen, with snacks and drinks available for purchase. I keep it stocked with things like crackers, nuts, chips, cookies, meal replacement bars, soups, noodles, and beverages. Just leave your payment for any items you take! :-)
Interaction with Guests
I've been renting out rooms on Airbnb for over three years so I am quite comfortable chatting with my guests or letting them simply come and go as they please. You should think of my place kind of like a boutique hotel - I'm probably the most organized and thorough host you'll ever meet, but during the day I'm often quite busy with work and with preparing guest rooms, so there are times when I won't be able to chat for more than a few minutes - sorry!
My house is in a quiet neighborhood where you can feel relaxed and at home, while still being close enough to The Strip to enjoy the fantastic Las Vegas experience. From my house it is very easy to access everything by car: I-15 (2 minutes), the airport (10 minutes), The Strip (10 minutes but varies with traffic), the Convention Center (15 minutes but varies with traffic), Downtown/Old Vegas (25 minutes), Red Rock Canyon (30 minutes), and Hoover Dam / Lake Mead (40 minutes).
There is plenty of free street parking in my neighborhood, and you'll find all the conveniences you can imagine within a mile or two - a casino, restaurants, a movie theater, a bowling alley, a library, a park, outlet shopping, specialty shops, grocery stores, pubs, liquor and wine stores, sushi bars, ice cream parlors, fast food, and more!
PLEASE be aware that Las Vegas (like the majority of the US) has very limited public transportation. If you want to stay off-Strip ANYWHERE in this city (not just my house) be aware that a round trip cab ride to The Strip will cost more than a car rental for the day.
My house, 5 miles from The Strip, is about a $25-$30 cab ride to The Strip and another $25-$30 cab ride back to the house.
Conversely, if you are over 25 years old you can rent a small car for $25/day including taxes and fees and park it for FREE at any hotel/casino on The Strip - that's basically equal to one average cab ride in this town!
Besides the obvious cost savings of renting a car vs. taking taxis, there are so many other things to see and do in Vegas besides The Strip (like Red Rock Canyon, Hoover Dam, or Fremont Street Experience), and having a car gives you the ability to access these things which a cab and public transportation cannot do.
However, if you don't bring a car or rent a car, there are several other options which many of my guests have used to get to and from The Strip and the airport.
1) You can call a cab to my house (be prepared to wait 15-60 minutes depending on how busy the cabs are at the time you call...this is true for ANY residential home off-Strip ANYWHERE in the city)
2) You can walk 15 minutes (1 mile) to South Point Casino and catch a cab at their taxi stand
3) You can walk 15 minutes (1 mile) to South Point Casino and take their $8 per day South Point Shuttle to and from The Strip (see the picture of the shuttle schedule for more details)
4) You can walk 15 minutes (1 mile) to the nearest bus stop on Las Vegas Blvd and take the city bus (see the picture of the sample bus route for more details)
Other Things to Note
I provide custom codes for the front door electronic lock, so a late arrival is not a problem - you can let yourself in and you can come and go as you please.
I lived in this house for a year and a half but recently moved down the street where I rent out additional Airbnb rooms.
There is a very detailed Guest Book located in each room - it provides information about WiFi, laundry, house cleaning, parking, the kitchen, TV channels, local restaurants, grocery stores, getting around the town, and much more. If this listing doesn't answer your questions, I bet my Guest Book will!
I keep a stock of local magazines, coupon books, maps, and activity brochures in the house - you can browse them for ideas, tear out coupons you plan to use, or add your books and brochures to the stock when you leave so future guests can use them, too!
I do not enter rented bedrooms unless invited, but I do enter the guest bathrooms so I can gather used towels for laundry and make sure the bathroom is staying clean for all my guests between weekly professional cleanings.
I have a service that cleans the house every week, typically on Thursdays. The cleaning crew will clean your room, make your bed, clean your bathroom, and if your stay is longer than a week they will change your sheets.
Please be sure to complete YOUR Airbnb profile so we can become acquainted before you book!
No shoes may be worn in the house...this helps keep the house very clean and my brand new floors in great condition!
Please clean up after yourself in the kitchen.
Registered guests may come and go as they wish, but please check with me before having someone over to the house who isn't a registered guest.
Please keep the noise level to a minimum during the night so as not to bother other guests or neighbors. Quiet hours: Sun-Thu 11pm-7am, Fri-Sat 1am-7am
Parking is only permitted in the driveway during a whole house rental. Room rental guests will find plenty of free street parking.
No smoking and no pets.
I've had problems with young children not being monitored well enough by previous guests, so please do not inquire or book if you are traveling with someone under 15 years old. Thank you! :)
Nice place at south las Vegas, very neat and clean. The room was exactly as described, really cozy and nice.
Jillian was a great host, she was friendly and welcoming.
Excellent place to stay in Vegas if you look for a quieter place than The Strip.
Jillian answered my last minute inquiry for that night right away and booking was quick and easy, with great directions. Instructions were very detailed, easy to follow and abundant in the house as well, which was great for self check-in, as I ended up arriving late evening. The house had great decor, was clean and organized with many thoughtful additional touches for a great stay. I would book this home again.
Jillian's home made my first AirBnB experience an amazing one! The house is very clean, and very easy to find. The moment I walked in, it is exactly how it was described in the listing.
There were a lot of instructions displayed all over the house. Everything was labeled. It pretty much felt like a hotel suite. Bathroom were spotless, and so were my room. Although I didn't get a chance to meet Jillian, she was very prompt and detailed with our communication, and provided adequate answers to my questions. Definitely a great experience!
P.S. I enjoyed playing with the Skeeball machine and Darts. Thanks Jillian!
All of the information we needed about our stay was at our disposal, and we were given plenty even before we arrived. Having our own code to the door gave us so much freedom and we never felt like we were stepping on any of the other guests toes!
This is my second review, but actually it was one trip. After day one of my trip I realized I most likely was not going to find a better value or experience, so I extended my stay by a week.
I do not remember what I wrote in my first review, but Jillian does just an outstanding job making sure the visit goes well.
Jillian mentions in her profile she has an IT background. It's easy to see she has put those skills to good use as an AIRBNB host. Jillian leaves no stone unturned. I believe she has thought of everything. Just an outstanding experience.

I am 35 years old and I thoroughly enjoy life! I think my personality strikes a good balance between organization and structure with spontaneity and enthusiasm!
I recently married the love of my life, Ben! We are also business partners in everything we do - IT consulting, Airbnb, and anything else that strikes our interests!
I am originally from Ohio but I fell in love with the desert southwest when I visited for the first time a couple of years ago, and not long after decided to change my place of residence to this part of the country. I almost chose Phoenix, Arizona, but landed in Las Vegas, Nevada instead - a very fun and surprisingly pretty city.
I was a part-time Airbnb host in Cincinnati, Ohio from 2011-2013 where I earned glowing reviews from 60+ happy guests, but I let my ex-husband keep that Airbnb account when we decided to split (amicably).
I was formerly an IT consultant full time, but these days I split my time between consulting and making a very enjoyable profession out of Airbnb hosting. I have a busy schedule between IT clients and all the work it takes to manage two large houses full of guests 24x7, so I may not have a ton of time to hang out with guests, but you'll likely see me working in my office or buzzing around the houses cleaning rooms and bathrooms and doing endless laundry between guests!
When I do find free time I love to cook, but in the interest of good health I stick to organic, non-GMO, naturally raised, low carb, grain free, and free of any refined carbohydrates, sugars, or starches. It makes for a lot of interesting experiments in the kitchen, but I've developed quite the knack for making delicious and nutritious meals this way!
I love dark chocolate, red wine, scotch and cigars, craft beers (especially IPAs, although they are nothing but refined carbs, so I rarely drink them anymore!), and lots of meat - steak, chicken, pork, turkey, and so on. In fact, I consider bacon to be "meat candy" and I just can't get enough!
I also love yoga and I have recently restarted my practice after a two year hiatus ... it feels so good to be back on the mat! I can definitely recommend a wonderful studio nearby if you need a yoga sanctuary while you're in town!
Setting up my business here has kept me mostly stationary lately, but as soon as the opportunity for travel (which I love to do!) presents itself, I'll be back out exploring the world!
