This is a very good place to get away from the busy Bukit Lawang (20 min walk away along the river). It is a very peaceful village but you could get stuff you need easily as there are some shops and places to eat nearby.

My name is Aini and I have lived in Bukit Lawang all my life, apart from University when l got my English degree followed by two years working hosting guests in a resort near Singapore. I have returned to Bukit Lawang and started my own tourism project. l live in the house and l like to share my heritage with other people. l like to empower the local people by giving them the chance to practice their English while immersing my guests in the community so they can get a real feel for Indonesian culture and traditions.

I can assist with any activity booking that I cannot provide myself such as jungle trekking. It can be difficult know which operator to choose but I can help you to narrow this down and understand who is reputable, reliable and eco friendly.
