About this listing
Welcome to "The Burrow." This 1 bed/1 bath updated walk-out basement suite sits in the Dogtown area of St. Louis. Just 1 mile (30 minute walk) to Forest Park/zoo/art museum and 7 miles to downtown, this suite is the perfect stay for your time in STL.
Centrally located, this suite comfortably fits 4 people (1 queen bed, 1 full sleeper sofa). You will have your own entrance in the back, a full kitchen (refrigerator, stove-top oven, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle), free wi-fi, cable t.v., and gas fireplace. To be more eco friendly, we have exchanged the Keurig for a 5-cup coffee maker. You will find 2 water bottles, granola bars, 6 eggs, butter, coffee and tea upon your arrival.
We have a Vizsla named Nuska who you will often find running around in the front yard. We have a large yard for living in the city and keep chickens in the very back. Feel free to ask for eggs, or if you're up for an adventure, go back and collect them whenever you'd like. Cook them up on the stove and they make a great breakfast.

Other Things to Note
This is the basement of our home in a family neighborhood so don't be surprised if you occasionally hear a dog bark, a chicken cluck, or a baby's faint cry. We have done everything we can to make the space as soundproof as possible but life still happens.
Our check in time is anytime after 3:00 pm and our check out time is anytime before 11:00 am. If for some reason you need some flexibility let us know and we will try our hardest to accommodate you the best we can.
Please treat our space with respect. Our desire in hosting is to provide a clean, comfortable place for you to relax and feel at home for an affordable price! Because of this, we don't tag on fees for extra people or cleaning. Please help us by leaving the space picked up. And if you have the time, doing your dishes before you leave is a huge help to us. Thank you!
Emily and Andrew were wonderful hosts! They were very accommodating, and allowed us complete privacy, despite the suite being attached to their house. The suite was clean and spacious, and has a great kitchenette. We really enjoyed the homemade granola Emily made, as well as the homegrown tomatoes from their garden. Their sweet dog Nuska made our stay that much more fun. This suite was perfect for our weekend getaway, and we'd love to stay with Emily and Andrew next time we're in St. Louis!
This spot was just what we were looking for. It was so nice to meet Emily and Andrew and Lucy as well as the extra family members. The space was extremely clean, well stocked and beautiful. We were less than a mile from great restaurants and attractions! We appreciated the hospitality and will be back!
We had a blast at the Burrow! Emily met us upon arrival and was so gracious and welcoming. The Burrow was spacious, clean and very nicely decorated. We loved the breakfast items and snacks left for us, especially the fresh eggs and granola! We found their book of recommendations to be spot on and super helpful as I didn't have too much planned prior to our arrival to STL.
Dan and I had a great time at Andrew and Emily's place! The space was clean and was nicely furnished and decorated. They were both very accommodating and friendly and the neighborhood was quiet and nice. I wouldn't hesitate to stay with them again if in the area. I cannot recommend them enough! Thank you for the great experience!
Emily and Andrew's listing is as described. It is perfect is many ways. We stayed Mon-Fri, specifically to eat, drink and go to the Pirates/Cardinals series. This location was perfect for all of those (website hidden) Louis is SO easy to get around, if something is 5 miles away your drive time is 7 min. Street parking was fine and our car was undisturbed throughout our visit. We had some brief interaction with Emily and Andrew and each was very pleasant. You are staying in their basement so there is light general traffic above you, nothing that would disrupt your visit. If we find ourselves back in St Louis we would be very happy to use this Airbnb again.
One negative, the listing does mention this so it is no secret but I am 5'9" so I had no issues but the ceiling in the bathroom is very low so if you are over the height they listed you WILL have to bend over in the bathroom.
Emily and Andrew have an extremely beautiful, comfortable, and safe burrow. Their deep love and knowledge of their city makes for an easy and fun stay in St Louis. They went above and beyond, making our mini vacation even better than expected. We will definitely be staying with them the next time we are in town .
About the Host, Emily And Andrew
Emily grew up in Florida and Andrew grew up in Illinois. We ended up in St. Louis and love it here. We are both educators and when not teaching, we spend our time doing projects around our house, tending the chickens and dog, doing any of the many free things around the city, cooking but also discovering new eateries around the Lou. We are members and community group leaders of The Journey. We love hosting and find joy in the comfort of our guests.
