Welcome to "The Burrow." This 1 bed/1 bath updated walk-out basement suite sits in the city of St. Louis. Just 1 mile (30 minute walk) to Forest Park/zoo/art museum and 7 miles to downtown, this suite is the perfect stay for your time in STL.

*Please read the entire description, including the House Rules, before placing your reservation, to avoid any unnecessary surprises.

The space

Centrally located, this suite comfortably fits 4 people (1 queen bed, 1 queen sleeper sofa). You will have your own entrance in the back, a full kitchen (refrigerator, stove-top oven, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle), free wi-fi, and gas fireplace. To be more eco friendly, we have exchanged the Keurig for a 5-cup coffee maker. You will find a stainless steel water bottle to use during your stay, 6 eggs, butter, yogurt, homemade granola, coffee and tea upon your arrival.

To note:
***The bathroom ceiling is 6' high.
*** We no longer have a couch and futon. We now have a leather love seat and a sectional that pulls out to a queen bed.

We have a Vizsla named Nuska who you will often find running around in the yard. We have a large yard for living in the city and keep chickens in the very back. Feel free to ask for eggs, or if you're up for an adventure, go back and collect them whenever you'd like. Cook them up on the stove and they make a great breakfast. * The chickens take a break in the winter so there won't be fresh eggs during those months but we still provide eggs (from the store) in your fridge.

For the kids we offer:
-a pack n play
-toddler cot
-backyard basketball court
-DVD player
-chicken discovering and egg collecting
-Neighborhood park/playground 1 street away

Emily and Andrews place was perfect for a centrally located visit to St. Louis. Forest park, the zoo, etc are just a short drive. It really seemed like everything we wanted to do was within 2 miles (the hill for Italian food, local breweries, Forest park, metrolink). Make sure to read the itinerary provided for tips on where to park free for the zoo and other things to do. The place itself is very clean and the bed is really comfortable. Just a great place to stay even if you just want to sleep late and hang out. Our communications with Andrew and Emily were great. The fresh eggs provided were a special bonus. Overall just a top notch place to stay!! We'll be back.

This place is as exactly as described online. Andrew greated us upon our arrival and was very welcoming. We would highly recommend staying there.

We had a lovely stay at Emily and Andrew's. The unit is spacious, light, smartly updated, well equipped and inviting. It's comfortably furnished and includes television with Roku, a DVD player and lots of games for kids and family. They even included eggs from their own chickens, home made granola and wonderful yogurt. The studio is in a quiet residential area and though we weren't there for a holiday, a number of area attractions (St. Louis Zoo, Science Center, Art and History Museums) are a short drive away. Emily and Andrew provided a wonderful notebook full of their personal recommendations for food and city attractions.

This adorable suite was nothing short of lovely. Between the incredible hospitality of Andrew and Emily and the unique atmosphere (it sits perfectly between rural and urban living), we couldn't have enjoyed the space more. We would stay here again without hesitation!

Emily and Andrew were perfect hosts, welcoming us and showing us how things worked, and even providing fresh eggs, yogurt, and granola for us to use! Then they gave us privacy, and we truly enjoyed this quiet retreat just minutes from downtown St. Louis. Everything worked well, the bed was super comfy, and the neighborhood provided interesting walking opportunities.

Emily grew up in Florida and Andrew grew up in Illinois. We ended up in St. Louis and love it here. We are both educators and when not teaching, we spend our time doing projects around our house, tending the chickens and dog, doing any of the many free things around the city, cooking but also discovering new eateries around the Lou. We are members and community group leaders of The Journey. We love hosting and find joy in the comfort of our guests.
