You can't get a better feel of Lisbon than this! Cozy and comfortable apartment in the center of the historic districts of Santa Catarina & São Bento. Located in a neighborhood with trendy restaurants, clubs, bars, traditional bakeries and cervejarias, and the tram 28 stops just a few steps from your door. This apartment has one bedroom and one bathroom. Come stay and experience old school charm and energy that can only be found in the magical heartbeat of the city!

The space
Our apartment has been restored with love, it is on the 1st floor of a 2 story building (no elevator) in the middle of the historic districts of Santa Catarina and São Bento. It has original hardwood floors, original wood beam ceilings, and a beautiful traditional kitchen with washing machine, electric cook top, fridge, toaster oven, microwave, kettle, and all kitchen utensils including cookware. There is a dining table where you can eat meals or work on your laptop, a comfortable double bed in the bedroom, as well as a pull out sofa bed in the living room. Cable TV and WiFi included. Hairdryer and iron included.

Guest access
You will have access to the whole apartment.

Other things to note
Please note that the historic and rickety old tram 28 passes in front of the apartment and can be a little noisy when passing through. Running times vary, although it can be anywhere from 7.00 am to 11.00 pm. The building has no elevator and the apartment is on the first floor of a two story building. There are approximately 14 steps up to the flat, a little steep, traditional of the old Lisbon buildings; there is a handrail to help you up if you need it. Although the neighborhood is generally pretty calm, the flat is close to the nightlife of Bairro Alto and it can get noisy with party goers at night. The iconic "Incognito" is just steps away, so it can get noisy late at night to early mornings Thursday through Saturday nights and during tourist season.

Old meets new in this part of the city, with the São Bento Palace just a few minutes walk, along with traditional bakeries and cervejarias, as well as trendy restaurants and art cafes where you can get tapas, coffee, poetry or wine all at the same time! There is a juice smoothie bar across the street, the famous Café A Brasileira is approximately a 7 minute walk away. For breakfast, try Nita Pastelaria and hang with locals, or The Mill, Dear Breakfast and Break. There are some amazing African restaurants in the hood. You can mix here with locals, as well as an International array of young entrepreneurs and artists. There are now several art collectives in the neighborhood, as well as little independent art stores and designers. The neighborhood is gentrifying but the old butchers, grocery stores, and barber shops are still here. It truly is a pleasure to experience it all changing.
The famous tram 28 stops just a few steps to the right of your door and passes in front (you couldn't get a better photo), taking you anywhere between the gorgeous Jardim da Estrela and the remarkable Cemetary of Pleasures (Prazeres), to Alfama, Lisbon's oldest quarter.
Walk up the hill from the flat just 5 minutes and you can check out Mirador de Santa Catarina and the trendy rooftop bar Park. Awesome Lisbon institution, alternative club Incognito just a half block away.
Metro station Baixa-Chiado (green and blue line) is 8-10 minutes walking, train stations Rossio (to Sintra) and Cais do Sodre (to Cascais) 10-12 minutes walking. There are many local late night convenience stores, who sell everything you might need, open until 10pm. Supermarket Mini Preco 5 mins walking. The nightlife of Bairro Alto and Chiado is just about 6 minutes walking. You can easily access on foot the vibrant neighborhoods of Principe Real and Santos from the flat.

Ola! We are Pam and Daniel and we met right here in the gorgeous city of Lisbon. I am British of Indian descent, and Daniel is Portuguese. I am an expat from London and San Francisco and have lived in Lisbon for the last seven years. Daniel was born in Lisbon, a local with roots in Alentejo. He knows Portugal like the back of his hand and is a wealth of knowledge about this lovely little country. When we're not hosting great guests we dance, we cook, we travel, we eat, we hang with our tribe all over the world. We are also property consultants and are happy to arrange real estate tours and regular tours to visit the many amazing places to visit in Portugal. “We travel, some of us forever, to seek other states, other lives, other souls.” - Anais Nin.
