The Old West Side Historic District is the oldest neighborhood historic district in the USA, full of houses from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
There is a route 12 bus stop right across the street (toward downtown) and right next door (toward Stadium Blvd.). 12A goes from the house to downtown, 12B goes from downtown to the house.
No smoking indoors, we are in a family oriented neighborhood so be respectful about noise levels, etc. Please take your shoes off when inside. Let us know if you need on-site parking, use the concrete driveway between the yellow (our) and blue house. There is also open parking on Eberwhite St. right across from us.
Daniel and Jessica were terrific hosts. Daniel responded very quickly and was very easy to communicate with. The house is a beautifully restored historic house in a lovely safe neighborhood. There were four of us with a baby. We would happily stay there again.
Dan was a great host--- clear instructions, easy to contact and very responsive. Space was warm, clean and in a good location. Moreover, Dan was very accessible to help answer questions about local places to eat and recommend neighborhoods to apartment hunt (the purpose of my trip.) Highly recommend!
Daniel was very helpful getting us checked in when we arrived into town after a day of cross-country skiing outside of Holland, MI. We called him up and were inside the house within 5 minutes of arriving. Dan and Jessica's place is a classic midwestern style house with a clean bathroom, cozy bedroom, and spacious dinning room if you wanted to cook while you were there.
The location is also phenomenal! We were within walking distance of the U of M stadium, but elected to drive because it was so cold out during our stay. Dan was also a lot of fun to talk with, and is a great conversationalist if you're on the topic of evolutionary biology or public health. My engineering mind had a great time nerding out with him on topics from 19th century computers to world travel!
We had a great time staying with Daniel and Jessica. They are both very friendly, the house was nice, very clean, and in a great location. They helped us navigate around town and suggested places to visit. The bedroom and bathroom in the basement have heated floors and make for a cozy place to stay. I would stay here again.
Jessica & Dan are seasoned travelers themselves & were generous with suggestions that helped me make my travel plans to Ann Arbor easier. I felt very at home staying there. My room was spacious, had a private bath, that was newly remodeled & very nice, & especially loved the heated floors! I appreciated having my favorite breakfast food there, & for Dan making himself easily available by phone if I had any questions. Also, I am so grateful for Dan taking me to the bus station, -9 below, & sitting a few minutes in his warm car while the bus arrived. You are the best! I recommend Jessica & Dan's place if you want to feel at home. Delightful Couple!
Daniel and Jessica were great hosts and the room was perfect. The heated bathroom floors were over the top and so cozy.
We look forward to visiting again.
We are an academic couple that enjoys travel and adventure, everything from art museums to the great outdoors. We really appreciate having Ann Arbor as our primary residence and all of the cultural opportunities that it provides. There is always something going on in town and the university hosts many free events. We will be glad to share advice on sights, travel, etc.
