Check In
  • My wife and I and our friend visited Daegu and stayed with Soonkyoo and her husband. Daegu is a very charming place, great weather and a much more relaxed vibe than the Seoul area. Soonkyoo was an excellent host, she made us a delicious breakfast and even gave us some of her fresh homemade kimchi! She also took us to her pottery studio where she told us about various Korean traditions and also served us very good tea in the traditional Korean way. There was no pressure to buy anything, although we certainly decided we wanted too! The pottery studio is a hobby for her, not a shop, but if you really like something she is likely to give you a good deal. The house we stayed out was cozy and charming, it was neat to stay in a house rather than an apartment and it was an interesting insight to see how housing used to be in Korea. If you are looking for the super modern hotel experience this is not it (it is by no means bad though, just less modern), but if you want to experience the culture and tastes of Korea than I would highly recommend staying here. Soonkyoo speaks very good English and is very willing to offer advice, insights and even tours of various parts of Daegu as she really enjoys letting visitors know more about Korea. Daegu is a great city and is near lots of other really great attractions that Soonkyoo is well informed about, would HIGHLY recommend visiting and staying here!

  • I enjoyed my stay at Daegu. Soonkyoo and her hasband were very kind and helpful. They were very intelligence people, so I really enjoyed to talk to them.
I asked her to cook a dinner, because the house was in a quiet residential area. Soonkyoo cooked great Korean style dinner for me, it was 10 dollars.
The house was easily accessible from East-Daegu close by but I recommend you to use TAXI. And if you want enjoy running, it is easy to go to beautiful jogging course in the Mang Woo park from the house. The house was totally recommended.

  • The host couple marianne and her husband are very easygoing fun people. I had a great time talking with them and they shared nice korean food with me because i was their first guest. They are fluent in English and know a lot about their traditional culture. The room is clean and spacious. The house itself is old so you dont get new and modern features. But they are well maintained and you get a feel of what the houses and normal life looks like in a quiet area of Korea.
