Overall we had a great time in State College and the house worked well for our group size. We had 3 couples, so the 3 bedrooms and 2 baths were perfect. The dining room area accommodated everyone comfortably relaxing! The house location is perfect, walking distance to town but quiet at night.
Our main concern with the rental was the air (website hidden) was one of our requirements for a rental house, and I was surprised when the house did not have whole house air conditioning - just 3 windows units - one located in each bedroom. Because of this arrangement, when we arrived all the units were off and it was 87 degrees in the house. Thank goodness we left to go to dinner because it was unbearably hot.
While the house is small enough that the units did eventually cool it down to a comfortable level, the AC unit were not installed in the windows well. Gaps around the frames and AC units let bugs and more hot air into the house. And the one upstairs unit drained all the condensate back into the house and flooded the first floor bed.
The size and location are great, but I would hope for cooler weather on a further visit!
Had a great stay here for Blue & White weekend. Michele was very helpful and easy to communicate with. House looked just as advertised and was in a great location. Quick walk to the stadium and downtown. Hopefully will be back here next trip to State College.
The House is in a great location, very roomy and just on the edge of town. Lots of space and in a quite location. Wonderful for access to the university. Michele was great and although the initial email went missing, once we hooked up all communication was easy and pretty standard.
We found our cozy home ready for us with a lovely note and a treat notorious to State College...love stickies! We appreciated the quiet neighborhood and close proximity to town. There was plenty of space and everything we needed to enjoy our stay and visit with our son! Thank you for everything Michele! We were wondering if you had availability the weekend of graduation?!!
Overall, our experience was very good. It was exactly what we were looking for during this stay. This was a cute and cozy house in a great location. It was close to the campus, had a lot of beds and furniture, and had overall great accomodations. There were two clean bathrooms, decent size living room, dinner table, and a good size kitchen to cook in. If we were to come back again and visit, we would definitely stay here again. Michelle was great and very accomodating.
It was nice to stay at Michele Randal's house. The house is a bit old, and rather expensive, but it was basically the only house that we could find for a family of 4 in this small city. (It actually has beds for up to 8 people, but there is only 1 bathroom so with too many people it will not be easy to use the bath). Michele was a nice person, and she also gave me a bike to ride during our stay. The place is quiet and close to the university.
