This neighborhood is a mixture of residential and apartment buildings. It is quiet on the weekdays and busier during the weekend. However, we asked that you respect the neighbors with no loud parties or music.
Absolutely no pets or smoking. Not butts on the property. Any evidence of smoking in the property will result in loss of full security deposit.
We had a lovely stay in State College! This a charming house in an awesome location. Michele was a pleasure to work with and communicated well prior to our stay. The neighborhood is beautiful and the house is walking distance to everything. However, with a young family and the time constraints of graduation driving was necessitated. Traffic was pretty heavy so that aspect of the town itself was a bit overwhelming.
Michele graciously allowed for early arrival but when we arrived the house was wide open and no one was there. Clearly the person prepping the house had stepped out (As anticipated, Michele was out of town) the house was a bit of a shambles so we put our things in a corner, locked the door, and headed into town for a couple of hours to allow the boarder (?) to finish up. Upon our return, everything was straightened out. I was a bit put out to have to make up 5 beds and had to search for a pillow case or two, but once through that all was in good order. Ample towels were provided. Only two washclothes (one was too dingy to consider for use) were provided - a trip to Target remedied that. Ample big store shopping exists within driving distance.
The air conditioning units definitely need updating and refitting to the windows and though also anticipated the tricky lock should simply be replaced.
We did truly enjoy working with Michele and staying in her home. I would consider returning if circumstances warrant another visit to State College.
Thank you for staying with us and enjoying your time during graduation weekend. I was sorry to hear of the unfinished preparations during your arrival. We strive to make check in as seamless as possible and if there are issues, there is always a second contact number to call for help. We are currently upgrading air conditioners and details regarding the lock. Thank you again for your feedback.
Michele, was very kind and had everything we needed setup. Kids enjoyed the stay. Location was near campus.
House was clean and all what we needed was there.
Thanks Michele :)
We had a wonderful week at Michele's home! It was a super convenient location & the house was very homey, in a nice neighborhood, well equipped, and had ample space. We'll be back again!
Great location. House was in great shape and well appointed. Just a short walk from the main business and bar district of campus, options abound for food and drink. Would stay again.
Overall we had a great time in State College and the house worked well for our group size. We had 3 couples, so the 3 bedrooms and 2 baths were perfect. The dining room area accommodated everyone comfortably relaxing! The house location is perfect, walking distance to town but quiet at night.
Our main concern with the rental was the air (website hidden) was one of our requirements for a rental house, and I was surprised when the house did not have whole house air conditioning - just 3 windows units - one located in each bedroom. Because of this arrangement, when we arrived all the units were off and it was 87 degrees in the house. Thank goodness we left to go to dinner because it was unbearably hot.
While the house is small enough that the units did eventually cool it down to a comfortable level, the AC unit were not installed in the windows well. Gaps around the frames and AC units let bugs and more hot air into the house. And the one upstairs unit drained all the condensate back into the house and flooded the first floor bed.
The size and location are great, but I would hope for cooler weather on a further visit!
Had a great stay here for Blue & White weekend. Michele was very helpful and easy to communicate with. House looked just as advertised and was in a great location. Quick walk to the stadium and downtown. Hopefully will be back here next trip to State College.
The House is in a great location, very roomy and just on the edge of town. Lots of space and in a quite location. Wonderful for access to the university. Michele was great and although the initial email went missing, once we hooked up all communication was easy and pretty standard.
