Stay in a neighborhood known for its deep-roots perennial gardening and progressive, peace-loving lifestyle! 2BR/1BA, fully-furnished condo is the lower part of a duplex - with friendly neighbors - near bus lines, bike paths. City and state licensed.
I think the unique thing about this location is that it is in the center of Madison's most progressive, environmentally aware, and friendly neighborhood - the Schenk, Atwood, Starkweather, Yahara (SASY) neighborhood. You'll love it here! Close to all the East Side has to offer (dining, entertainment, festivals, etc.)!
Wi-Fi, TV/DVD, Porch/deck, Covered Bicycle area, 2 blocks from Goodman Community Center (gym and other activities), 1 block from Capitol City Bike Trail, 3 blocks from Atwood restaurants, shops, and coffee houses. No in house laundry, but a coin operated laundromat and dry cleaner are just 8 blocks away (.6 miles) on Winnebago Ave. We have children's games, toys, a crib, and car seats that guests can use.
Interaction with Guests
I am available to meet guests on at check in and check out as needed, to field questions about Madison and the neighborhood, and to ensure guests have a comfortable stay.
This neighborhood is quiet, progressive, and environmentally friendly. It is home to the Olbrich Gardens, Lake Mendota, the Atwood business district, and the Goodman Community Center. There are lots of things to do, including visiting a Brew Pub, taking in a show at the Barrymore Theater, shopping for art or gifts, or going out for dinner at one of the neighborhood's many restaurants.
There are several buses that traverse Atwood Ave., just 3 blocks from home. The popular Capitol City Bike Path is just one block north as well. It is possible to walk to the Capitol in just 30 minutes (2 miles).
Other Things to Note
You will have upstairs neighbors who are very friendly! Our home is fully licensed and inspected by the City of Madison as well as the State of Wisconsin, ensuring a safe and comfortable stay!
We do ask guests to observe a noise curfew between the hours of 10 pm and 7 am, simply out of respect to the neighbors! Also, it is a great help to take care of your own trash and recycling, and to let us know when supplies are running low (sheets, towels, TP, soap, cleaning supplies, etc.).
My family met in Madison for a graduation event. Dan's home was conveniently located only 15 minutes from the airport and the downtown capitol in a quiet residential area. It was safe and near walking paths that led to coffee shops and other shopping.Dan was a great host. He communicated quickly and was available to help anytime. The home was convenient and comfortable for the four of us. The rooms were small and everything was a bit worn and dated but adequate.
Staying at Dan's place was great. Nice neighborhood, comfortable and clean house and Dan was very helpful in suggesting places to eat and where to rent bikes etc.
Dan's condo was lovely. We were there for 2 nights and didn't spend much time in the condo, but it was a great home base - clean and comfortable in a central neighborhood. Communication with Dan was easy. Thanks for the stay!
this condo was very nice and Dan was extremely available. We didn't meet him in person, but he was quick to respond by email. We liked the neighborhood and the proximity to the bike/cycling path. The only issue in the condo is the sound. We could hear the upstairs neighbors very easily. We had a great visit to Madison, and enjoyed our time at the condo.
Dan's place is clean, comfortable, and cozy! Much appreciated his responsiveness and helpfulness during my short stay. The location was great -- really close to the capitol/downtown (driving, ~10 minutes) and walking distance to some fun bars and eateries. Would recommend for anyone visiting Madison!
We live in the same neighborhood as this condo and wanted to have a separate place for my parents to stay when they came to visit close to our house. This condo was perfect! Dan was great - great communication, available to answer questions and very good to deal with. My parents enjoyed their stay very much and will definitely book this place (or something else with Dan in the hood) if available next time they or other family or friends are in town. Thanks Dan and airbnb - so much better than sticking them in a hotel far away from our place!!
I have grown up on the move, having lived in Africa, China, and the U.S., as well as living in Ukraine for several years with my young family. I now reside in beautiful Madison, Wisconsin, where I am a psychotherapist as well as working at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as an outreach specialist. I love to travel, as well as to experience the world through others in their stories and experiences. Madison is an amazing place - full of great people, places, and activities. I am a very resourceful and conscientious person and can offer lots of ways to help make your stay in Madison a good one!
