Centrally located in the Verde Valley, our home offers a completely private apartment situated in beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. Its a half mile from the center of old town, and only 15 minutes from both Sedona and Jerome making it the perfect location to explore the valley from.

If you love hiking, swimming, horse back riding, ancient pueblos and cliff dwellings, or want to tour the wine country of northern Arizona, our place offers the ideal location.

Guest Access

When you stay with us you will have access to a very private lushly landscaped acre. Its fully fenced making it the perfect place to bring young children.

Your apartment has its own entrance and is situated away from the main house so you can come and go as you please.

Interaction with Guests

We generally like to leave our guests to enjoy their privacy but we love to meet new people and guide new comers to some of the wonders the Verde Valley has to offer.

The Neighborhood

Situated on a private dead end road we are secluded and yet only a half mile from wine tasting rooms, boutiques and many restaurants.

Getting around

Not much public transit here. You will need either a car or a horse, but if you are renting a vehicle its best to get something with a high clearance if you want to full access to the valley.

  • We so enjoyed our stay at this lovely "home away from home". We were welcomed warmly by the Capy's and felt comfortable to enjoy this as if it was our own home. The house is well appointed, the kitchen is a prefect place to cook. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed having our morning toast and coffee by the fountain, just outside the back door. It was a little slice of heaven. We loved having fresh eggs every morning, I think the best eggs I have ever tasted ! We cooked fresh veggies every night from the garden.
Cottonwood is a charming town and close enough to Sedona, yet far enough that we did not feel like we were in a "touristy area".
Such a very wonderful place and we will be back !

  • This was the perfect place for a quiet getaway. The 'casita' was welcoming, extremely clean, and had everything we needed to prepare delicious meals (when we didn't want to dine out at one of the amazing local restaurants!) It is just a short drive to Sedona, the many hiking trails, vortexes, and historical monuments. Carol, Joshua, and their girls were fantastic hosts: very pleasant, helpful, and full of good information about local attractions. They have information and guidebooks in the suite for guests to use and the wifi worked perfectly to keep us informed and connected. It was a treat to be on their private land and to have access to their beautiful peaceful garden and the most amazing starlit skies. I would highly recommend their place to anyone visiting the area and I hope to return again myself.

  • Bev and I had a really nice time staying at the Old Town Cottonwood Garden Oasis. We enjoyed the quiet, rural atmosphere, and yet within a 1and 1/2 mile walking distance of Old Town Cottonwood. Joshua, Carol, their two girls and great dog, Becky, were the perfect hosts. I'd go back there again. To sum it up, we had a sweet, comfortable stay.
    Sincerely, Bill

  • Our stay in Cottonwood at the garden oasis was fantastic! Carol and Joshua welcomed us warmly and gave us excellent recommendations for hiking and restaurants in the area. They were very thoughtful and generous hosts and the casita was great--very clean and welcoming--and we enjoyed sunny breakfasts in the beautiful gardens. A great spot for relaxation and exploring the area.

  • Nice accommodation and very generous hosts! Carol & Joshua welcomed us warmly, gave us access to their greenhouse and also gave us honey from their hives, as well as other food. They were very helpful with suggestions. Great hosts all around.

  • We absolutely and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Carol and Joshua's garden oasis! Our experience there was beyond our expectations in home comforts, easy access to many ancient sites and wonderful parks and paths for hiking and biking, and fun cultural nightlife and culinary delights from the historic downtown Cottonwood, up to ghost town of Jerome for gallery walks, or a quick run to Sedona for the International Film Festival or their famed red rock canyons!

And the hospitality of the Capy's was outstanding. While respectful of our privacy they were always available to answer questions or point us where we needed to go. And the super plus is the Capy's generous sharing of their fresh farm eggs, organic greens, homemade jams, breads and honey from their bees. We didn't want to leave! But feel almost certain we will be back!

  • A great place to stay! It was plenty roomy for four people and everything was clean. There were even eggs from the chickens outside that were waiting for us in the fridge. The nights dropped to the mid-twenties, but the space heaters were more than enough to keep us warm. Very quiet. About a 20 minute drive to the hikes in Sedona and down the street from old town Cottonwood.

  • What a pleasant stay and perfect quiet location in Cottonwood. The casita was very clean and nicely furnished. Everything was updated and kitchen well equipped. Really appreciated Carol and Joshua's friendly manner and willingness to chat about the area. Could easily be friends with these folks!. Thank you.

  • We had a great time staying in Cottonwood at Carol and Joshua's property. It is in a perfect location to explore all of the Verde Valley and Sedona area with plenty to do everyday. We enjoyed their hospitality and willingness to share their yard. We also appreciated very much the use of guidebooks, maps, and other literature about the area. We felt right at home with the setup and have no reservations recommending the Garden Oasis to a small family looking for a place to stay, relax and explore central Arizona.

  • We were so delighted to find the Old Town Cottonwood Garden Oasis for our visit to Sedona. We really did not want to stay in a hotel room for Christmas (or ever)! This place was perfect, exactly what we were looking for, and a very short drive to Sedona for some hiking and we even made a quick trip up to the old mining town of Jerome. The cottage was well decorated and very cute, clean, with a nice private outdoor space, plenty of plants (although we were there in December, I bet it is gorgeous in the Spring/Summer/Fall). We had enough space for 4 people to stay, including our dog-- the owners have a beautiful dog who was very nice and friendly. We were able to cook our own meals (the kitchen was well equipped) which was a major bonus for us since we were staying over Christmas and wanted to make some holiday meals. The owners were very friendly and very helpful. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in the Sedona/Cottonwood/Jerome area.
