Lake house that sleeps 18 comfortably on beautiful Schroon Lake with your own private sandy beach. Wake up to coffee on the deck, spend all day swimming and floating, and end the night with campfires and a sky full of stars. This is the kind of place where kids run barefoot, days feel slow, and everyone actually relaxes. Quiet Adirondack lake life, all to yourselves.
The space
Welcome to our historic Schroon Lake retreat, a classic Adirondack waterfront home built in 1952 during the golden age of Schroon Lake tourism.
Located on Alburnorm Way, this property is part of a unique chapter in local history. The road takes its name from the famous Alburnorm Hotel & Casino, later known as the Edgemere Hotel, developed by brothers Allan, Burton, and Norman Robbins. The cottages and lodges along this shoreline were originally built to accommodate guests visiting the hotel and casino, creating a lakeside community for vacationers enjoying Schroon Lake.
Known as the “Nancy House,” this home carries a special connection to the area's past. The homes in the neighborhood were named after members of the builder's family, and this property was named for his granddaughter, Nancy. Today, it remains a cherished part of the community's history while offering guests a comfortable Adirondack getaway.
This spacious five-bedroom, four-bath home comfortably sleeps up to 18 guests, making it ideal for family vacations, reunions, and group getaways. Enjoy private lakefront access, a sandy beach, breathtaking sunsets, and all the recreation Schroon Lake and the Adirondacks have to offer.
While the house comfortably sleeps 18, the indoor common area is definitely cozy. We always hope our open-concept second floor and the large outdoor deck—with its extra seating overlooking the lake—gives everyone plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the view!
Whether you're boating, fishing, hiking, golfing, or simply relaxing by the water, you'll experience the natural beauty and timeless charm that have drawn visitors here for generations.
Come create your own Adirondack memories in a place where history, lake life, and relaxation come together.
Guest access
Guests of the Yellow Pine Lake House have access to the entire home as well as the surrounding outdoor property. Located within the home are 3 supply closets and an outdoor shed - all of which are locked for guest safety, and accessible only to homeowners and contracted workers.
Other things to note
The Adirondacks are truly the best places to be during every season of the year.
Summer brings swimming, boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, and beach days on Schroon Lake wether it is on our private beach or at the town beach, plus ice cream runs and strolls into town (just about 2 miles from town).
In fall, enjoy breathtaking foliage while hiking thousands of beautiful trails in the Adirondacks.
Winter is perfect for cozy getaways—think snowshoeing at Natural Stone Bridges + Caves, sledding on various hills including the hill at the town beach that is next to an ice skating rink under a pavilion with complimentary ice skates of all sizes to borrow, nearby skiing at Gore Mountain, and relaxing indoors after a day in the snow, on the lake.
Come spring, the lake and trails come alive again with quieter crowds and fresh mountain air.
Located just minutes from the town of Schroon Lake , you’ll be close to family-friendly restaurants, shops, playgrounds, and seasonal events—while still enjoying a peaceful, nature-filled setting.
Whether you’re planning a summer lake vacation, a fall foliage trip, or a cozy winter retreat, this home offers the space, comfort, and location families love—year after year.
