  • We loved staying with Steven and Scout. They were warm and welcoming, the bed was comfortable and cozy, and we enjoyed having our own bathroom. Steve is an award-winning photographer and the artwork in the home was an added dimension of enjoyment for us.

  • We had a rough weekend in Eureka Springs with the snow. Needless to say we were stranded at the house for a day and Steven was kind enough to provide meals for us and drive us to our car the next day. He did far beyond what any host should ever have to do. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!

  • Just a delightful stay. The host was charming....and the doggie was just an absolute charmer.

Great location in the hills between Crystal Springs and the lakes.

Be sure to have directions written down or download the local map onto your mobile device. Cellular coverage cuts out about 2 miles from the place.

  • We loved staying with Steve at his house near Eureka Springs. We felt at home because he really shared his house with us; also his lovely dog, Scout. The house was neat and clean; there was nothing to complain about. Steve did not even mind when we, tired of sightseeing, stayed in one afternoon and took over his house. The house is situated in a lovely secluded spot - you never would guess that there are any neighbours around. However, you cannot get there without a car. This is not for people who want to be right in the centre of a town; it suited us perfectly because we were tired of big cities. The environment is beautiful and awe-inspiring. Steven's place is also close enough to Branson, MO so that we could attend some events there and miss the frenetic pace of the town. It is also very close to some shops, as well as Eureka Springs, which is a lovely old town. If ever we get to Arkansas again, we would love to stay with Steve again.

  • I enjoyed very much my stay at Three Pines with Steve. I went there for the express purpose of finding out if I wanted to be a host, too. Steve filled me in about AirBNB and I will be signing up soon to be a host myself. The accommodations were fine, bed comfortable, bathroom clean and the food was excellent. The fresh Arkansas peaches were a definite plus!! Scout, the dog and the cat were friendly, too. The porch was the place to be. It is out of the way, but well worth finding!

  • Steven is a wonderful host! We have already recommended him to some friends vacationing in the area and plan to stay there again when we return. He made our entire family feel welcome, including our children. The kids immediately fell in love with Scout (the friendly beagle) and thoroughly enjoyed exploring outside. I would recommend a stay at the Three Pines Forest Retreat ANYTIME! Just don't book when we are in town, as we will be there :-)

  • Convenient to Eureka Springs, Branson, Blue Eye, and Table Rock Lake makes this quiet retreat a great base to travel in all directions for day trips. I made sure my first arrival was before sunset to orient myself, but we had no trouble finding it after dark on other days even though my car GPS abandoned me near the state line. Steven is an excellent host and the accomodations are new and clean. Couldn't ask for more. Steven provided my son with internet access to continue his online homeschool access.

  • Steven is a gracious host who knows the area very well. He communicates directions clearly and accurately. He also provided a clear and accurate map for us when we were leaving. The accomodations are new and nice. The coffee and continental breakfast was generous and much appreciated.
    Highly recommended.

  • We had a pleasant stay at Steven's. His place was just as pictured, everything very neat and clean. He provided us with breakfast and was very nice. I would've wanted to chat more and learn about the area but we were very tired from traveling and our time at the house was very short. He did provide us with a list of restaurants and maps to help us get around. The roads around the area were a little bit confusing (not labeled well) to us, so that was very helpful! Thanks!

I live in the Ozarks for the scenery, the recreation and the people. I am semi-retired, a fly fisherman and have a canoe. In the past I have kayaked and rafted the Colorado River in western Colorado and in the canyon lands of Utah. I rode my bicycle from Grand Junction, Colorado to Denver over 300 miles crossing two mountain passes over 12,000 ft. and one of over 11,000 ft. I have also canoed the Boundary Waters of Minnesota and Ontario, traveling over 80 miles in the process. While not as active in these pursuits as in the past I talk a good game and if you are coming to the Ozarks for any of these activities I can give you some pointers as to where to go hiking, mountain biking, fishing and canoeing and kayaking. My house is out in the woods, but within easy driving distance of Eureka Springs, Table Rock and Beaver Lakes. The White River and Roaring River are nearby. It is a great base camp for those who are coming to the Ozarks for recreation. I do have one, very friendly Basset Hound who loves company. Judging by people’s reactions she is far more charming than I am. We both like guest and would enjoy having you stay with us. Steven
