This was a most pleasant surprise! Jim's attention to detail makes him one of the best at making you feel not just welcome but special. The location is easy to find, located a quick drive to downtown, and only a few blocks from the Cloverdale area with kitschy shops and restaurants. Take advantage of the pool to cool down and breakfast with Jim! Actually, this was the only place to truly fulfill the second "B" of Air BnB!! Thank you Jim for your hospitality. Would stay again!
As soon as we pulled up outside the inn, Jim ran out to greet us enthusiastically. The Inn was a oasis of cool in the humid Montgomery air. Jim and the Inn exude Southern charm, with two beautiful and comfortable reading rooms stocked with up-to-date papers and magazines.
In our characteristic but in no way tacky suite was a huge bed, a claw footed bath and an effective shower. And most importantly a very pleasant ceiling fan.
There are only two rentable rooms in the Inn, so Jim makes the welcome very personal and is always on hand to help or give advice. The Inn is situated perfectly for quickly entering/exiting Montgomery via the interstate, but is also convenient for the historic downtown. Also nearby is the lovely Cloverdale neighbourhood - a great place for an evening walk through leafy roads lined with wonderful colonial homes.
Our breakfast consisted of warm and soft 'biscuits', frittata and sausages, muffins and fruit, with a bowl of homemade grits which the more experienced couple staying in the other room described as the best get we tasted. Jim sat and chatted with us, always offering top ups of coffee and food - the perfect fuelling for a day of civil rights exhibits or driving.
We only stayed at the Lattice Inn for one night, but would heartily recommend it if staying in the area. The property is a lovely slice of the south, and with Jim offering the personal touch, will cater to any travelling needs.
We felt very welcome in Kim's wonderful home. Prior to our arrival he sent a list of local restaurants which was very helpful and much appreciated as I wanted to ask but did not want to bother him! Very quiet room. Great breakfast and conversation the following morning!
The Lattice Inn was a great place to spend a night in. The neighborhood location is quiet, yet still within walking distance to restaurants and bars. Jim did a great job recommending places to visit and making our stay very comfortable. If I ever revisit Montgomery I will definitely return to the Lattice Inn.
Lattice Inn is just about as grand as I could have imagined. The pictures are just a taste of things to come. The inn was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Jim is a five star host, and he serves a wonderful breakfast. We came to watch our grandson compete in the state archery final. Jim was considerate and prompt and made it possible for us to be right on time for the event. We would love to stay again.

Jim made us very welcome. We had a lovely room with a huge bed. We both slept really well and Jim made us a great breakfast of frittata, biscuits, grits. There was fruit on the table and as much juice, tea and coffee as we wanted. The neighbourhood was nice and quiet. We were able to walk to a restaurant for supper which was nice as we had had a long drive. We would definitely stay with Jim again. He was a great host and made every effort to make sure we had what we needed.
