House Rules

Please be polite and pleasant. The area is quiet and the people living there respect each other. So we do not want loud, rowdy groups of people who are drunk. There is a strictly no smoking policy in the Mews, and the Mews needs to be returned to Una in the condition it was in clean and with all content in tact on arrival. Other than that there are no specific rules.

We were made to feel most welcome in this splendid house. A lovely hamper of Irish goodies was a very nice surprise. An ideal location in a very friendly neighbourhood, only a short walk to town. Highly recommended.

Response from Una:
our guests always comment on the décor and space that Kavanagh's Mews provides including its private garden (with its fresh productive herbs) unique to any property in such a central location. all the sights are within easy walking distance of the centre which our guests really value during their stay while they are part of a prestige neighbourhood of academics, artists, IT specialists, teachers, rugby players and ambassadors!

Lovely house, perfect for our group of 6 girls. Plenty of sleeping space and nice communal area with courtyard garden. Only suggestion is that for 6 girls it would be good to have some extra mirrors as was only one in the upstairs bathroom and a small portable mirror downstairs. Would recommend and would stay again.

We had a wonderful time at Kavanagh's Mews. It is tastefully decorated, contains everything one needs (e.g., cooking utensils, towels, hairdryer), has a lovely fireplace which we availed of every evening and is in a great location just around the corner from some very nice cafés/bars/restaurants, as well as a supermarket and is within walking distance of St. Stephen's Green (there are also excellent bus connections and it is close to a dart station too should one wish to take a trip along the coast). Úna met us on arrival and was very helpful, leaving a welcome hamper with all the essentials for us. The house is spotless with a wonderful inner terrace and whilst in a central location is extremely quiet. We highly recommend the Mews for a stay in Dublin.

Thanks for taking the time to review your stay at Kavanagh's Mews. Our guests love its quiet yet central location in the heart of the very prestigious area of Ballsbridge, Dublin 4...within easy access to the centre of the city. No need to hire a car - travel on foot, hired bike, bus or dart makes for a most interesting stay seeing the sites across all of Dublin.

Lovely accommodation and fantastic location within walking distance of the city centre and 2 mins from the Aviva stadium. I would definitely stay here again. 5 stars....

Response from Una:
Guests love the Mews for its ease of access to the City Centre. For guests who attend football and rugby matches at the Aviva Stadium the Mews is a really convenient location. Add in the atmosphere of the local pubs during these events and it makes for a great stay. And the Mews is tucked away and quiet from the excitement of the match even though its really close by.

I'm a Dubliner who loves beautiful places, spaces, music, history, art and food. I adore local places with long histories and like to get to know them. My desert island foods would be crumbly blue cheese on an oat biscuit, butter and whiskey wrapped fresh lobster and Cork dry gin with slices of homegrown cucumber and ice. I can't live without good coffee and wouldn't even try. I'm currently reading Hal Fisher's A History of Europe and I love the knowledge it shares about Western Europe since 1731. Right now I'm catching up on my local history over the last 100 years...bound to happen in 2016 ... as the 100 years since the rising that sparked Ireland's independence comes calling. My favourite musicians are plenty - Queen, The Mumfords, Daft Punk and closer to home U2 and Mark Geary. I believe in keeping life simple - and I fundamentally believe - the simpler, the better. I enjoy welcoming guests to Dublin and sharing stories of local history, culture and food.
