This is bedroom number one out of a safe, four bedroom home. This room is a little bit more, since it has it's own bathroom. This is the room that most female travelers prefer.
The spaciousness and airiness of the house will put a smile on your face
We speak 3 languages fluently, German, Italian, and English also not quite fluent in French, but close. So before we decided to rent the rooms out in our house, we had 56 different groups (one person to whole families) of friends stay with us in one year alone. Yes at some times we had 3 groups at one time. What does that mean to you? That we are very easy going and are used to showing people a good time and are awesome Hosts.
We have many amenities. Here are some of the most important. Private pool, high speed Wireless Internet, bikes, beach toys, Surfboards, Boogie Boards, Skateboards, Wetsuits, fireplace, out door shower, etc
Like the headline says we are just 500 feet from the beach and at night you can hear the waves crashing. Not only that but it takes us about 15-20 minutes to get to Lindbergh Field the San Diego International Airport. For Sea World about 10-15. Scripps or UCSD 5. Zoo or downtown 20-25. We also have a bus stop just 200 feet away.
The House will come with full Kitchen privileges. We have a VitaMix for healthy smoothies, Espresso, Microwave, Oven, 5 burner stove and more.
The rest of the house is bright and full of life with light colored hardwood floors and tall ceilings with floor to ceiling windows that overlook the pool.
If we have time and you can talk my daughter into giving you a free surf lessons then you will learn to surf.
Some mornings we make whole grain pancakes filled with different types of fruits and nuts in the morning. We have healthy cereal and bread and jam, coffee for a more European meal.
Treat us the way you would want to be treated. No Smoking!
Fantastic location (with parking). Super interesting house architecture. Greg and the kids were great: welcoming and friendly. This was our first time of renting a room, instead of an entire home...it was easy and laid back. We would stay with Greg again.
Gregory nous a très bien accueilli, la maison est agréable et idéalement située pour profiter de la plage. Vélos mis à disposition gracieusement. Merci!
We had a really good time at Greg´s house. He had a high chair, toys and a stroller for our baby which was very helpful for us. Greg also provided us with useful information about the area. We definately recommend his place.
We enjoyed our friendly experience and especially the surfing fun times and games we played with Gregory. A family was there for a long term stay from Switzerland as well and it was lovely to get to know them. Gregory was so accommodating and generous and we highly recommend others to enjoy his space with him and his family.
This trip was wonderful! My plane arrived much later than expected and Gregory made sure I was welcomed even though it was probably past his bed time. He gave me mini surfing lessons, had a wet suit and board for me and pointed out the best places to see and best food I've eaten. The neighborhood is beautiful and just a short walk to the beach. Great place to stay and the kids are adorable.
Greg and his family were very friendly and we felt comfortable staying there. The location is perfect for a beach/surf holiday as there is a good beach just a 5 min walk from the house. There is also a nice cafe and a nice little avenue with some ok restaurants and surf wear shops within a walking distance. By car it takes some 15-20 min to downtown and at least we didn't have any problems with traffic. Also the La Jolla downtown area was very nice.
From the moment me and my travelmate stepped in the door we felt at home with Greg & his beautiful family. Its a warm and inviting space. Tons of beautiful natural light and conveniently located. We only wish we could've spent more time playing. So grateful to this wonderful family for opening up their home to me.

I love to travel and broaden my horizons. I have been a waiter and love to share my house and the La Jolla community with others. I have lived in La Jolla now since 1992. I have tons of information on what to do based on your taste and desires. I have surfed here and been a City of San Diego lifeguard (10 Years) So I know the ocean very well.
I have moved every two years of my life growing up and my wife was born and raised in Germany then moved to Italy for 7 years and now she feels she is an Italain.
My new favorite spot to go surfing is Nicaragua.
Five things that I cannot live without would be my family, iPhone, iPad, surfing and my wife wants me to include surfing again.
I love to listen to a lot of types of music.
My favorite motto comes from the Beatles song "The End"
"And in the end
The love you take
Is equal to the love you make"
When you stay with us I will do my best to make sure that you have a good time.
