PLEASE, this is really important. Venice is a town different from all the others, so we have some strange habits: one is about the rubbish.
Due to the particular nature of the town, we have not places where to store rubbish, and the bags are taken everyday BY AN OPERATOR ringing the bell.
This is a new way to pickup the rubbish started October 2016.
So please don't put the rubbish out in the street. It will be done by the lady that clean, or you can give it to the operator. They work everyday, not Sunday.
If you really must bring the rubbish out, you can use the boxes for the rubbish you can find on the streets.
Consider they are for small rubbish. So I suggest to create SMALL bags and be sure to put them INTO the boxes (not over).
One is just after the bridge you will see from the windows. Some are in the closest square.
Thank you and enjoy Venice!

I'm venetian, I work in art and culture and I'll be glad to help you to know my town in the best way: I can give you advices and suggestions about places, cultural events, eating, shopping, about things to do in Venice, eventually with babies. In my house you will find books of venetian art and history. The flat is just 2 minutes close to Campo Santa Margherita, a beautiful square where it's possible to let the babies run and play without danger. From the apartment you can reach in 5 minutes the boat to Giardini and Arsenale, Biennale's venues, and the boat to/from the airport. I wait for you.
