The balcony faces the traditional Armenian quarter and what you can see is the eclectic architectural landscape that defines the old parts of Bucharest: a mixture of XIX century mansions, monumental churches, interwar apartment buildings and XXI century steel and glass structures. Exiting the building on Sperantei Street you can find right across the renowned restaurant La Dud, and in the adjoining piazzetta you can choose to eat a pizza at Gambino's. Or you can buy a cracker and a coke from the little street boutiques.
Going straight on the street and turning right at the end will take you in 5 minutes to the University Square.
Two minutes away (in Rosetti Square) you have a bus, trolley and taxi hub. Five minutes away you have all of the above, plus subway access.
From the airport you can reach us by express bus 783 (University Stop). From the Gara de Nord railway station you can take directly the 85 trolleybus and get off at Rosetti Square.
Smoking only on the balcony.
Tudor and his wife are very nice hosts. The place is very well located near to the University Square. I do not spend a lot of time in the studio, Bucurest is such lively and interesting city, but I have all I need. They provide tea and coffee. The studio is equipped with small frige, security safe, wi-fi and iron. The bathroom is nice with great amount of clean towels.
Very nice and reliable host. The place is very well located, walking distance to the University Square. Nice bathroom, towels and bedding. Tea and coffee provided. All in all, I recommend it heartily if you do not plan on spending a lot of time indoors (the place is small) and are not fussy about sleeping on an extendable sofa bed.
Stay here! Clean and cozy best describe this flat. Bed was very comfortable, kitchen was adequate and had an assortment of loose leaf tea and coffee. Location was perfect. We would have booked a few extra days in Bucharest simply because we loved the flat but it was already booked out. Very much recommended.
Tudor and Ana were extremely accommodating with a last-minute request to stay at their lovely "garsoniera" the very same day. We instantly relaxed into the cozy atmosphere with a pot of delicious tea on the balcony, overlooking a kindergarten playground. The apartment has everything you need for light cooking or making coffee or tea, including a really efficient hot plate and small fridge. The sofa easily snaps into a bed and was quite comfortable. If you like taking baths, you'll love this large bathtub!
The building/neighborhood definitely will give you an authentic taste of Bucharest. It's on a quiet street, but very close (5-10 min walk) to the heart of downtown via Rosetti and University Sq, where you can catch buses or subway to anywhere in the city. And while you might get a nasty look from a neighbor or mistake someone's doorbell for the hallway light, that's all part of the Romania experience!
Tudor was a warm and welcoming host and very communicative. The flat is exactly as it appears in the phots. As one commenter mentioned, it would be a little tight for 2 people, but doable. The flat is 5 mins from metro station and 10 minutes walking to old town. I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again.
The comunication with Tudor was very easy and clear. All perfect. He is a nice person.
The flat is in a good position for visit Bucharest. Very near at the bus station from and to the airport.
The house is clean and you everything you need for staying there.
Tudor is a really great host. He went above and beyond what is strictly necessary as a host and brought me to a place to get a SIM card, as well as a really excellent restaurant with traditional Romanian food that wasn't very expensive. He even had some really good tea in the apartment, and was a great conversationalist.
The apartment is nice, and is well-heated in winter. It isn't the easiest to find for someone that isn't familiar with the city, but is centrally located and near to the metro. It is in a calm neighborhood, so you don't have to worry about being able to sleep.
