--------Authentic 18 foot Sioux Tipi, handmade and painted by the artists at Nomadics Tipi Makers. The tipi overlooks a waterfall on the Sawkill Creek that runs through our estate. Across the stream is Comeau Park, with a 2 mile walking trail. The center of Woodstock Village is a half mile walk. There is a circular fire place in the center of the tipi and another fireplace outside by the waterfall.

The space
.............The 30 photos show many details. Almost everything is custom made to the highest standards: the tipi and liner, the bed and folding futon, the solar reverse painted lamps, the dream catcher over the bed, the stone fire place and the pentagonal fire screen.
............On the estate there is an outside shower, outside kitchen sink, with hot and cold water. There is an outhouse about 100 feet from the tipi for tipi guests' use. We have a 'Tipi Room' with its own entrance set up exclusively for use by the Tipi guests. [See Map] It’s nothing fancy, with a desk, and chair, refrigerator, electric, and wireless internet access. There are solar electric panels setup for the tipi that power two small CFL lamps. The Tipi Room has electric for charging electronic devices.
................In the fall, mid or late October, when the temperature may go below 32, the sink and shower must be turned off so the pipes don't freeze and break. Usually, into November, the water can be on for the afternoon. Firewood, plus basic cooking pots, pans, plates and utensils, plus salt, pepper, cooking oil, soap, paper towels, bathroom tissue, dish detergent, trash bags, scrubbies, candles, a complimentary bottle of our favorite white wine [in the fridge] are provided. There is a 2 burner Coleman propane camping cook stove in case you wish to cook without making a fire. Outside, there is a propane barbeque grill. There is an outdoor table and bench in front of the fireplace by the stream [see photos]. The mattress in the tipi is a double, plus there is a futon couch that folds down to make a 42' X 75' bed, if you have more than 2 people.
............... There are sheets, towels, and quilts provided.
When we first set up the tipi in May 2013, we stayed there 2 nights to check it out. The second night, the fire sent a shower of sparks that put burn marks in the rug. So we have custom made a pentagonal fire screen to prevent that in future. [see photos]. In our study and use of tipis over the last 50 years, this is unique in our experience, and a great improvement in safety.
................Near the road are trash cans for your use. We expect guests to leave everything as clean and orderly as they find it.
................The tipi is available mid April until November. In winter it is taken down and stored.
...............A word of caution - the rocks by the river can be extremely slippery, especially when wet, be careful.
..............Caveat for spring and fall camping: If you have no experience with making and maintaining campfires, we suggest your first stay in the tipi be when the overnight temperatures are unlikely to be cold, mid-May to late September. As we say in the attachments we send to all guests, so long as the fire is kept going well, you can be comfortable inside the tipi with a sweater or light jacket - or under the quilts at night - even when the temperature is in the 20's or lower.
............Soon after you book, we will email maps and directions. If you don't see them promptly, please let us know and we an send again.

The Sioux Tipi is owned by Ohayo Properties LLC. Your hosts are Andrew Peck and Chloe Dresser.
