Experience the magic of the marrakech old medina from the other side! Situated in the heart of Marrakech is our private riad. You will experience a taste of culture mixed with some moroccan spirit and just a twist of european style!

The Space

Our riad (moroccan house) is beautifully decorated in a very tradition style. All the walls and floors are covered in beautifully decorated tiles. Just beyond the front door is a small water fountain which creates a relaxing atmosphere and is very usual of old moroccan houses. The sitting area is typically moroccan style and has hosted many shared moroccan meals with tourists, friends and family.
All the rooms have their own private bathroom and typical moroccan style doors!
Within a few minutes walk you will reach an area of more gardens and 3 swimming pools! There is a few small shops that sell fresh bread everyday (with fixed prices), a pizzaria, a coffee and free wifi!

Guest Access

Guests have access to a relaxing terrace, 3 swimming pools, beautiful gardens, little shops, cafe with wifi. In the Riad there is a kitchen if you would like to have a cooking lesson with us. There is a roof terrace which you can sit in and catch the sun, for sunbathing, eating and barbecues. There are gardens, trees and flowers surrounding the whole area of private riads and around the swimming pool area. This seems a funny thing to share but in Marrakech areas of garden are a haven in the heat as they bring a fresh wanted coolness.

Interaction with Guests

We enjoy interacting with our guests, sharing stories, giving information and guidance about staying in morocco, the best trips etc. On a friday it is Cous Cous day. If all goes according to our schedule we like to prepare and share the experience of eating as a moroccan family with our guests if your around. Please ask and we let you know.

If you have any problems, queries or concerns please let us know in advance of your stay and during your stay please do not hesitate to discuss anything. We want to make you feel as comforable as possible so that your stay is one of the best memories that you take with you.

We run moroccan cooking lessons with a traditional moroccan chef. We will take you to the market to buy vegetables and meat, then return to cook a tangine the traditional way on hot coals. Its a fun lesson and a fantastic way to spend an evening in Marrakech. A unique experience cooking and eating outside in the fresh air (weather permitting of course!) There is an additional charge (150dhm) for this but way cheaper then any cooking class you would find anywhere else! This covers the cost of the tagines, coals and the little extras like the spices, olive oil, bread, drink etc,

If you want to smoke a shisha pipe while your staying with us this can also be arranged. We have a few flavours to choose from and we charge for a group of people 50dhms per head. In the medina you will be charged 100dhms upwards. We have a moroccan chill area where you can smoke or on the terrace.

We can take you to a real local moroccan hammam where you will have a real traditional scrub not touristic at all! In addition we have a local massage therapist professionally trained who can give you the spa treatment in the comfort of your own room. So total relaxment!

The Neighborhood

We are situated in a typical moroccan but 'private' area for families that is only accessable to guests and residents of the area. This allows a feeling of comfort knowing that you can walk freely around enjoying the area without being approached or hassled by sellers. Instead you get to experience the moroccan daily life passing you by but still have that interaction with other tourists. The riad are actually a haven for relaxation and chilling after walking around and experiencing the hustle and bustle of the marrakech souks and medina.

The riad are situated 5 minutes from the bab Khemis market which happens every Thursday and Sunday and is famous for getting bargains and a few people have even bought a few antiques!

The residents in this private area are very friendly and like to chat and share moroccan tea or a meal at a given opportunity.

You are within walking distance of all the touristic sights including Jardin Marjorelle, The Tanneries, maison de photography, La Koutoubia, Jemma Fna Square, School of Ben Youseff, Bab Khemis Market, Bahia Palace, The Tombs of the Saidens. You are also within a 5 minute taxi ride to the beautiful palmaraie area where you can go quad biking, camel riding. visit the museum of marrakech or go and play golf! Also in this area you will find some great evening entertainment with a brazillian restaurant, a shisha lounge and a spanish tapas bar all of which have live music.

Getting around

The best way to discover Marrakech is to go out and get lost in the maze of streets, sights of interest, shops, cafes and markets.

You ARE situated in the old medina but not in the 'Jemma Fna Square' which many people associate with just being 'the old medina'. The medina actually covers a very wide area that includes the area here where the riad is situated. Literally just across the road from the private riad complex is the old wall with the big arched doorways that contained original Marrakech and hidden within are the winding streets and alleys containing interesting souks, shops, touristic places of interest, bars, restaurants and more which can mainly be reached by walking but you can take a taxi or even a bus to some place. There are also horse and carriages in Marrakech which is a lovely way to see the city both old and new.

We can help with tours to the desert, Essaouira and the cascades, plus trekking as we deal with a good company who keeps his prices real.
We have all the information for transport within the city.
We can also help you hire a car or scooter for travel around marrakech and morocco

Other Things to Note

All bedrooms have their own private bathroom with a shower providing hot water using an immersion heater. We provide towels and bedding. We are happy to change these during the week if your staying for more than 5 days but please if you need clean ones before then let us know!

There is WIFI within the Riad which can be used throughout even on the terrace!

A light breakfast is available at 9.30 on monday to friday and 10am on Saturday. We do not serve breakfast on a Sunday. Breakfast is traditional moroccan style with mint tea and may include moroccan bread, moroccan pastrys, moroccan breakfast soup, fresh fruit or yoghurt. We serve different things at different times of year

We do have a tiny dog called Coco (a mini teckel) who we rescued from a shelter. He is still new to this world so is learning about life and people. Yes he barks at new things but this is quickly forgotten when you experience his cute, fun, crazy side! Let us know if this would be an issue for you as we would never want this to effect your stay.

For tours - We make sure we only use companies that provide our guests with enjoyable trips. We can arrange with you when you arrive. Please note - as this is morocco though and is not inline with european/america customer service training there may be some parts of the trip that do not reach your expectations. We welcome feedback and ensure we deal with any issues you may have.

Please note the pool is heated only from the sun! In the summer this is of course excellent as you have a nice cool pool during the morning and a warm pool during the afternoon. However in the winter months (November- March) the pool is not suitable for swimming and during this period the pool may be emptied in order to be cleaned for the next season. However the sun is always shining in Marrakech and so you can still relax and chill by the pool as it is surrounded by beautiful gardens and is very quiet and relaxing. The pool is generally open from 9am until 6/7pm everyday from around late March/ early April. However this is subject to change depending on what is happening in Morocco! As we say here 'this is morocco (T.I.M) anything can happen!' Please contact us at the time of booking to confirm the status of the pool. The pool is not open on a friday in respect of friday prayer.

Smoking is not permitted within the riad anywhere except outside or on the terrace.

  • Karim, Debbie and Mehdi are the best AirBnB host I've had so far. They made my stay in Marrakech very memorable. Karim has been very helpful with answering my queries before I booked with him. Since I had a late flight coming to Marrakech and an early flight going back to London, Karim was very nice to have booked a taxi for me. Also, even though I arrived very late, Karim and Debbie waited for me and helped me settle in to their lovely home. I've also had the pleasure of sharing with them a traditional Moroccan Friday meal. If you ever come to Marrakech and don't have time to visit the desert, I recommend booking a trip to Essaouira and try the camel ride by the beach. It's one of a kind experience and view is just amazing. The small town is very lovely and the Soukhs experience is more relax than Marrakech's. All in all, they were very nice hosts. Mehdi, even went with me to a cash machine as there was none around the riad. If you ever come to Marrakech, stay in Karim's riad. You'll definitely have the best experience. They treat you as your friend. & Oh! Coco is probably the cutest dog ever. Just want to share, I've always been scared of dogs and have never liked them but Coco's cuteness was just hard to resist.

  • Karims riad was decorated in a beautifully traditional moroccan style. I stayed for a week with my boyfriend and we had an amazing time. The room was very clean with a wardrobe and ensuite with shower. Karim was really friendly and went out of his way to help us and organised some of the trips we wanted to do. His wife Debbie was also really sweet and was great with advice on what we could do during our stay. It was nice to stay in a an area with security and have a bit more freedom and relaxation from the busy medina, and pools were lovely and clean. The distance from the medina was great as it was not inside the hustle and bustle areas but it was close enough to walk (however we found it easier to get a taxi, which costs about 2 pounds). A great homely atmosphere we would definitely recommend!

  • As people who had never used airBnB, and never been to Marrakech before, Karim was the perfect host. We were completely bowled over by his generosity, hospitality and care for our stay. When we arrived he welcomed us with open arms, not only to his BnB, but his home and family. Within minutes of arriving quite late and being hungry, we found ourselves in the middle of a BBQ, surrounded by Karim's family and friends, feeling completely at home.

He helped us every step of the way to have an absolutely great experience. Helping us with airport transfers, trips, advice on where to eat, where to visit, who to trust, the list goes on and on. When it came to relaxing in the evenings, Karim and Debbie were perfect company, sharing stories, music and common ground.

In terms of the accommodation, its in a perfect location close to the medina but away from the hustle and bustle. There are also guards at the entrance of the complex which provides a feeling of security. Access to the pools was a big plus and the shops round the corner make it easy to get supplies.

If we are ever back in Marrakech, we would not hesitate to come back again. We left loving the city and the people and a large part of this can be down to Karim's introduction. Thanks Karim and Debbie (and Coco), and wish you all the best!

  • Karim´s riad was more than I expected. It was a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of the Medina and there were a few pools to relax in. Karim and Debbie were very welcoming and were able to book tours for me. Even though I almost missed one of the tours, Karim was even able to coordinate things for me so that I got on the right tour. He was very welcoming and provided much information about Marrakech and what to eat and do.

  • This is a lovely oasis, set in a very peaceful riad just opposite the madness that is the Medina. Karim and Debbie are great hosts and provide a welcoming home, highly recommend here.

  • Karim and Debbie were very accommodating and welcoming. The riad was beautiful and is located within a lovely and safe neighbourhood. There are shops and cafes which visitors as well as locals go and use. It (email hidden) to rest and relax after a day of intense walking!
Karim and Debbie were helpful and very cool people to get to know. They were happy to answer any questions regarding the practicalities of visiting Marrakech. Karim also helped me book a day tour to Essaouira and find a working adaptor for my chargers, which were indeed out of kindness and hospitality, and in the end saved me a lot of trouble.
I had a great experience and would recommend it to anyone.

  • We stayed with Karim and his wife Debbie for 5 days and had the best time. They are awesome people. The dog, Coco, provided lots of entertainment. The Riad was very clean, comfortable and had a great atmosphere. Breakfast was lovely. Good proximity to the Medina and the area is lovely. Met some cool travelers who were staying at the Riad. Will definitely visit again. Thanks guys.

  • Karim is the man! He's the guy who knows (website hidden) was beautiful, his wife was awesome. He's a funny and down to earth. The only thing i'd say is that the pool wasn't available, Karim said it was because it was not the right weather for it. Recommend the stay here!

I am originally from Morocco but I have spent my time travelling around the world. I have been to 17 countries and have learnt much about life, cultures, languages, food and people. I love to meet with new people and share and discover more! In my travels I have spent time as a DJ and a latin dancer. I dance salsa, bachata, merengue and reagatton. I love music and as a DJ I play everytype of music you can think - maybe not classical though!! I like to swop music with people I meet.
