Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • A beautiful colonial style house with an immense sense of space. Great location far enough from the tourist 'drag' to forget it, close enough to reach it if absolutely necessary. Fantastic experience from check-in through to check-out, we felt like we were being welcomed into our own haven, a haven made heaven by Veronica's first cooked breakfast. Chris was a relaxed host, ever helpful with suggestions and practical tips for coping with Granada. Big plus was the outdoor bathroom. This place exceeded expectations, which were already very high from pictures and previous reviews!

  • My best friend and I spent a week exploring Nicaragua. Miss Magrits was the last leg of our trip and most definitely the highlight. I could've spent a week just hanging out at the BnB. It's beautifully designed with comfortable rooms and an amazing shower. Not to mention the staff is very accommodating. We didn't meet Chris until the day we left but he was extremely friendly and welcoming. We would return in heartbeat!

  • What a wonderful surprise this stay was. Despite all the rave reviews and pictures, our stay far exceeded expectations. The grounds and pool were spacious. The design of the common areas and bedrooms were modern and comfortable, cool during the hotest parts of the day and air conditioned sleep at night. Chris is an exceptional host and very helpful with all local needs. The guides and tour recommendations were spot on. All ancillary staff were friendly and professional and every breakfast was a delight. It's a great place to stay in the lovely city of Granada!

  • Miss Magrit's Colonial Paradise is, in a word, Paradise. The room was great - fully equipped with a comfortable bed, lots of pillows, a fully functioning AC unit (very important in Nicaragua - it gets HOT) and a nice view. The pool was beautiful and the breakfast was cooked fresh to order each morning and quite delicious. The hotel was based just a few short blocks from the main square (easily walkable), and most importantly, everyone who worked there was great! I will definitely be staying at Miss Margrit's again the next time I find myself in Granada. Thank you Chris, Rosa, Veronica, Andy and everyone else at Miss Margrit's for such a wonderful stay!

  • Miss Margrit's exceeded my expectations. Chris, the owner, is both friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and the ac was effective and silent. The truth was that the ac was only necessary for about 30 minutes when we returned from walking during the day. The rooms have such high ceilings that the fan is enough to stay cool. It is about 5 blocks from the Parque Central, the walk is through a good neighborhood. It is 2 blocks from Xalteva language school which is very good. What I did not quite understand when I booked it was that the 15% tax is included. Many hotels which advertise do not include tax. Breakfast is also included which is common but not universal in Nicaragua so the net cost is well worth it. Since everyone tends to eat breakfast at the same time the other travelers are generally friendly and you can pick up tips from them.

  • I can't recommend Chris and Miss Margrit's enough - they are the epitome of good hospitality. Chris was extremely helpful and timely in his response before we arrived in helping sort out trip logistics. Upon our arrival, Chris and his staff were there to help with everything from restaurant recommendations to booking massages and ferries. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous with spectacular views of the city, the entire place is pristine, and the rest of the house staff is incredibly nice! Our breakfast was also delicious. There's no place else my friends and I would rather stay when we make our way back to Granada!

  • My husband and I stayed at Miss Margrits in early January and we have nothing but good things to say about the hotel. Chris was not there but a lovely couple ran the place while he was away. They helped us find great restaurants, plan excursions and even set up a cooking class for us. Breakfast was also a highlight - it was delicious! We highly recommend Miss Margrits.

  • I did NOT end up staying at Miss Margrits Colonial Paradise due to continuing renovations at the property however, not only did Chris communicate with me extremely well regarding the issues, he also checked for alternative stay arrangements and made the reservations for me once I approved. I appreciate that he followed through with that as well as making airport transfer arrangements for me. Even though I wasn't able to experience Miss Margrits this time around, the next time I'm in Granada it'll be first on my list no doubt because Chris clearly cares about guests...even if they don't end up staying with him!

  • What an amazing place! From the moment we landed in Nicaragua, Chris had Andy (a driver) greet us immediately upon exit of the airport. Andy was terrific, very knowledgeable of the history, points of interest and overall a great example of the very friendly and personable Nicaraguan people. Chris did a fantastic job on the restoration of this colonial. What a treat! Very peaceful, comfortable, private and wonderful breakfast. Even though there were other guest, we enjoyed the colonial to ourself for most of the time. We chose this place as our 1st stop, so that we could get to know Nica and talk to other people for tips on our visit- turned out to be an excellent idea. Chris and his staff were very helpful and provided lots of info- he really knows Nica and everyone in the city. Location is very convenient to the city center, you can walk everywhere within a few minutes. Air condition was a blessing for the very hot days in Granada. We can't wait to return to see the new addition to the colonial- yes, this very large home is expanding. Very tasteful, original and attention to detail- VISIT CHRIS, you won't be disappointed.
