  • Humberto's apartment was very clean, cozy, and the perfect spot for the type of accommodation we were looking for. Humberto's family were very helpful and the communication was seamless. We will definitely recommend this apartment for future stays.

    Response from Humberto:

Crystal and her friends have an excellent command of Spanish. They were friendly and polite guests in our Lima apartment. They left the apartment in perfect condition. Without a doubt, we highly recommended them. Have a good trip!

  • The apartment was like the first time very clean and ordened. Humberto was very helpful and flexible with changes of my reservations because of problems to come back to Lima.

His mother and brother are very kind and helpful, too.

I will always prefer to stay in his house when I am in Lima.

    Response from Humberto:

Benjamin and his friend were in our Lima apartment for the second time. They left the apartment in perfect condition. Thanks a lot!

  • Humbertos place was very clean, conveniently located not far from the airport, and only about a ten minute cab ride to the main plaza. Not a lot of things in walking distance, but if you need a cheap place to stay while in Lima I recommend staying here.

Tomas and his family are friendly and polite guests in our Lima apartment. stayed with us for more than a week. All the time, they are adventurous that are learning peruvian culture. I definitely recommend them. Have a good trip!

Our stay in Lima was great. My boyfriend and I stayed nine days in that beautiful city. Humberto's brother picked us up at the airport and took us to the apartment which was in perfect condition; it looks like in the pics. In Colonial Avenue is easy to take a taxi or public transportation to different tourist places of Lima. It takes about 10-15 minutes to get downtown. His brother Ronald and his mother were very friendly all the time. Humberto's mother owns a “Bodega” where you can find all you need to cook, and what not, you can get it in a supermarket which is located 5 minutes from this place. There are also different restaurants near the apartment. We definitely recommend stay in this apartment.

  • A Nice appartement, good facilities, free wifi, hot shower.
A good place to stay when you just have a night in Lima and have a transfer.
Ronald showed me around in Lima, This was really Nice, because i was on my own and first day Peru, and still saw Lima well now.

  • Umber was very nice and very responsive to my email. However even though I have booked to stay at his place I chose to spend the night at the airport instead versus trying to get to his house. Even though i have booked in advanced and I decided to let that $23 go. After all of my calculation it is no longer economical deal after all.

Let me break down the expense and you can decide if this is a place is right for you.

    1. After booking you will have to pay $10 dollars cleaning fee for him in cash. Which I am fine with that and happy to pay.

    2. If you flight happened to be early and you have to be at the airport by 3 am in the morning. Based on other review taxi that early in the morning is hard to find. To avoid this problem I asked if he could arrange calling a taxi for us. Umber to promptly reply with a $10 dollars fee to call a taxi.

    3. Once I get to the airport it is very difficult for me to get a taxi and they want $30 dollars to go to his place claiming that it is very far. Granted 2 weeks ago I took a taxi to Mira Flores and it cost me 45 sol which is about $17 dollars. After many attempt to find a taxi. I gave up and then contacted Umberto and let him know that I decide to stay at the airport. Again Umberto is very nice and offer to have his bother come to the airport and he said the fair for a taxi to his house is usually $20 dollars.

In my head on order to stay at his place and be back at the airport by 3 am to catch the next flight all in total I would have to pay

$40 dollars for a taxi to get to his house and back to the airport.
    $10 dollars cleaning fee
$10 dollars for them to call a taxi for you
    $23 dollars for a room.

Total $83 dollar. That is why for me after all. It is no longer an economical place to stay.

However, if you can speak Spanish, don't have an early flight Leaving at 5 am in the morning and you are willing to take a public transportation. This might be a place for you.

  • Even though we never met Humberto, he replied to my emails quick and managed to get his brother Ronald to meet us at the airport (for a fee) and take us to the apartment at night. The apartment was pretty simple, kitchen, bedroom with two twin beds, and a bathroom, semi small but it had everything we needed (for example hot water and water pressure). If I were to return to Lima I would consider staying here again. All the public transportation would pass in front of the house and it's only a 10-15 min ride to downtown Lima.

I lived in Berlin and New York City and my family and I are opening our house to travelers. We like to interact with people from different cultural background and make our airbnb guests feel as they are part of our family. We also would like to share what we know about Lima and where to go in Lima. This cultural exchange gives us the opportunity to tell you who we are. In addition to that, we can speak in more than two languages such as English, Russian and Spanish. We like to keep contact with international people and hear things about their travelings. We offer you a safe, quiet, and nice environment. Some advantages of my home are: My house is well located between the Lima International Airport and Downtown Lima. We are 15-20 minutes by taxi to downtown Lima. Some places, we suggest, to see in downtown are: - Cathedral of Lima (Catacombs of Lima) - The Franciscan Monastery - The Government Palace - Malecon del Rio (Pier of the river) You can also take the panoramic bus and you can compare the old Lima and new Lima, that has over 8 million inhabitants. We can consider it as a busy city. Peru is three times the size of California. So you have a lot to see other than Cusco and Puno. If you like eating, you should check out Peru’s annual food festival in Lima, Mistura, (more than 300,000 attendees). The next one is in September 2013. You can spend all day in this huge fair. Seafood, Steaks, rotisserie chicken, pork and lamb (and many vegetarian options too!). Drinks like Pisco Sour, Purple Corn juice (Chicha Morada) and Fermented Corn juice (also called Peruvian/Inca beer) or Chicha de Jora are a must. Desserts made of dark chocolate, rice pudding with purple corn pudding, and ice creams like Zambito are just delicious. If you have any questions, please email us. We are here to help you. Humberto
