Spacious double room with shower-room shared with other single guest room, easy walking distance to all city centre places of interest. Simple self-service breakfast available.
We are situated 3 minutes walk from St. Stephen's Green, off Camden Street. We renovated our house in 2000, enhancing the Georgian features in the original house, with a modern kitchen/dining extension onto the south-facing garden.
Guests are welcome to make tea/coffee at any time, using the upstairs livingroom or the garden in nice weather.
We have an elderly cat Chino who visits us from time to time.
Interaction with Guests
We absolutely love Dublin city, having lived in this area since 1977, and will be happy help you find your feet and the secret gems we know and love.
We have lived in our area since 1977, and in our present house since 1994. We are in the heart of the city, and yet in a vibrant residential area, with houses of architectural merit built between 1838 and 1895, with some modern pieces of course as well. We are a few minutes' walk from two beautiful parks, St. Stephen's Green and the Iveagh Gardens, and also close to the Grand Canal with its cycleway all the way to the Bord Gais Theatre and (website hidden) and (website hidden) headquarters. Whelans and The Village music venues are at the end of our street, so that end of the street can be fairly lively especially at the week-ends.
This bedroom is at the front of the house so, particularly at week-ends, you may hear some on-street talking at night-time.
We are a few minutes' walk from the No. 16 bus from the Airport (every 20 mintues, €2.60) or 10 minutes' walk from the Aircoach Blue Bus Trinity College stop (every 15 minutes, €7). Our street is a city-centre street, and on-street parking is expensive. We are located very close to the Hertz depot on South Circular Road, should you wish to hire a car to go down the country. You can walk all of Dublin city centre from our house, and we are close to both Luas tram lines, and also close to the St. Kevin's Bus should you wish to take a day trip to Glendalough in Co. Wicklow.
Other Things to Note
We have an elderly cat, who makes a rather peculiar cry sound.
No smoking in the house.
My mum and I had such a lovely stay here for short break in Dublin. The house is ideally located for walking to all areas of the city, with great links to the North side etc.
Natasha couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful with tips for getting places and local amenities.
Our room was extremely comfy and its worth staying just to see their beautifully decorated home itself!
We will be back if we need a room in Dublin again.
It was a great pleasure to stay with Natasha and Peter. Their home is beautiful and as hosts they are so welcoming that I fear we may have lingered too long at their breakfast table. We had not realised how convenient the location was for our visit to Dublin.
Lovely, authentic home with nice garden on a perfect location to explore Dublin city by foot. Natasha and Peter are very warm and welcoming, it felt like a family visit. Also nice breakfast.
Guest- and bathroom (downstairs) give enough privacy, so great combination of having the unique experience of staying in someone's home getting to know eachother a bit and have some place for yourself. Only critic to think of is the warm water running out quickly.
Definitely worth visiting!
This is the second time I have stayed with Natasha and Peter and again they made me feel so very welcome. It is a joy to stay in such a beautiful home. The location is fabulous and so easy to walk into the heart of the city. I just cannot imagine a hotel stay matching this experience. Thanks again Natasha and Peter.
We felt us very, very welcome at Natasha and Peter's home.
The room was exactly as shown on the pictures. There is a lovely bathroom and we very welcome to use the private livingroom as well.
The Portebello area is our favourite area in Dublin. Lots of cafees and in walking distance to Grafton Street and St. Stephen's Green.
We will come back for sure.
Staying with Natasha and Peter is really like staying in a home away from home. They are wonderful, warm people and their home is just lovely and comfortable, and extremely well located. This was not the first time I stayed with Natasha and Peter. And it won't be the last time, hopefully. And also this time I was thinking: all those people staying in impersonal hotels....poor things... ;-)

We are Natasha and Peter, and we run an interior decoration business in Dublin. Our three children are now grown-up, two daughters living in the UK, and our son in the Czech Republic with his partner and two children. We are interested in all aspects of the arts: visual, music, literature, film etc. We are also keen cyclists and swimmers, and have a classic cruiser on the river Shannon. Peter is also a pretty keen golfer!
We spend some time in France, sourcing vintage furniture which we sell from our showroom, which is 5 minutes walk from our house.
