We're thankful for the previous reviews from other travellers, otherwise we couldn't find this place. The listing on arbnb is Traditional Balinese Villa, but the name of the real place is "Surya Abadi Villa." And like many previous travellers who stayed in this villa, we think that the host MUST change the listing name, it's so confusing otherwise.
I booked this place one day before my journey, the booking process wasn't a problem. But when we got to the villa, the front desk had no idea that we're coming and they didn't even receive any messages from the host. Honestly, I was shocked. After a while, they got the news from the host then we got to checked in to the villa. This is not a private villa, since they have a few villas on the place.
When we got to our villa, everything is dirty and lots of spider webs all around the place. There was a big spider also inside the room.
However, the staffs were very helpful and nice. They clean everything and changed our bed sheets.
Its was quite a disaster at the beginning while searching the place. as we reach Canggu when the sky started to get dark abt 7pm. Thing get worse when we still in puzzle while we were drop at somewhere and pick up by someone from different villa name? as in our record its clearly written Traditional Balinese Villa, but the place is going in is Surya Abadi -Warung and Guest House! its totally different name! we still unsure even until we go inside and see the place is exactly the same as what th epic in the website shown till i confirm the Morgan name and ask few question they had few different villas provided.
This is not a joke at all while we are tired after 2 night trekking at East Java and all the way travel from Ketapang to Gilimanuk to Canggu which take abt 5-6 hours.
But the place is really beautiful and comfortable! all tiredness was disappeared when we check in and have our rest beside our villa!
In future inform the guest the real name of the villa will be better to save the trouble in searching it also confusion caused!
and last, the breakfast if not included also not stated clearly. while when email confirmation stated Breakfast & beds confirmed. Its can be misleading.
overall we still enjoy our 1 night staying there. Thanks!
Staying at this villa was incredible. It was a beautiful setting, in the town of Cangguu, just north of Kuta. The service was impeccable from start to finish, with our trusted driver and guide Madi (and his brother Gede), who took care of everything! This place offers a tranquil way to relax and enjoy the real Bali away from the tourists and the mess. The villa is basic but clean, and complete with enough storage space, good AC, a small TV and great wet room serving as a bathroom. The pool adjacent to the villa is shared with the rest of the complex which includes smaller villas. Only issue I can foresee would be finding the place alone, which is why I would recommend asking Morgan for one of her drivers to come pick you up. Besides that, you can't go wrong really at this price. Well worth a stay. Thanks again!
Overall the villa is good as it describes as well as the images provided. Very friendly staffs at the villa that are willing to help with everything you need. Location wise it maybe a bit confusing the first time but eventually me and my friends could recognise the way and honestly it is not too far away from Seminyak. Car and motorcycle rental are easily available. So at the end of the day we enjoyed our stay at the villa. It may not be the cleanest or lushest villa around but it is rustic and traditional for those who love the natural wood style.
Lovely. Beautiful accommodation. Very clean and tidy. It is really wooden and natural setting. Walls are very thin though if you stay in the same room in a villa but if weather is sunny, it is a perfect holiday. Food was 7/10 for taste wise, presentation 8, value 8. The concierge although seems a bit under trained in terms of receiving us or taking initiative in helping out, was able to assist when specifically prompted. Did not meet host at all but was lovely stay:)
It was difficult to find at first and there is more than one location, but well worth staying!!!! We loved the villa and it was the first place we stayed that actually did have hot water as advertised! Loved the restaurant close by and the pool. The property is lovely and in a fairly quiet location. It is about 30 minutes from Kuta. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend it highly to anyone else.
