@ 1400sqft you will have plenty of room to relax with queen and king bedrooms, linens, full kitchen with utensils, cookware and laundry. Bus stop at home with free street parking. 2 miles to NIH, Walter Reed, Bethesda Naval, and Bethesda Metro
This English Basement apartment is in the quiet part of Bethesda, but is in easy reach of major arteries, NIH, Walter Reed, and downtown Bethesda (Metro) or shopping mecca Friendship Heights.
In addition to the king and queen bedrooms, there's also an almost queen sized Ikea Beddinge futon. We don't have cable, but there is free Netflix on the TV.
Guests will have plenty of available free street parking, private entrance/bath/kitchen/WD, access to the patio and BBQ grill. Our house uses WIFI calling.
Interaction with Guests
The large apartment is one level down from the primary residence, however that level may also be occupied by guests. I'll be close by and a quick text message is a great way keep in touch.
If you would like to book, please make sure you have a picture of you on your profile.
The home is very close to highly rated Walt Whitman High School. As a result the neighborhood is very calm and warm with people jogging, walking their dogs etc.
There is a Ride-On commuter bus (rt29) stop right in front of the house. Most streets in this area have parking restrictions except for our street! There's also a short walk to the T2 line Metrobus on River Rd that runs later in the day and on weekends.
National Airport is on Metro so most convenient if you don't have a car. Otherwise both Dulles and BWI will be fine.
Take the River Road exit from the beltway for simplest route by car.
Other Things to Note
We have indoor/outdoors cats, but they are not permitted downstairs. There's a HEPA air cleaner in your apartment which should help if you have allergies, also a HEPA vacuum with high quality filters in the HVAC system.
We love pets, but cannot allow them in the basement. No smoking. Please let me know if you have concerns for heating or cooling before opening windows.
If you are here on a Wednesday night/Thursday morning, especially if staying for a week or longer, I would appreciate taking the trash/recycling to the curb on collection day, Thursday before 7am, and returning back to the patio at the end of the day.
If you happen to be here during a snowstorm, it is the law to have the sidewalk shoveled within 24 hours.
This is my first experience of airbnb. Ghina is very nice and her house is excellent! My parents also love it. Wonderful time with her!
Gina est une excellence hôtesse, toujours disponible, aimable, serviable et pleine de bons conseils. Le logement est très spacieux, propre et parfaitement équipé. Je recommande cette location sans aucune réserve.
This is my first experience with Airbnb, I really love it.
Ghina was really nice host, helpful and generous.
I highly recommend her house, especially for family with children.
It was pretty nice, Ghina let us feel very comfortable. The Rooms are comfortable too.
At the first Evening Ghina brought us Bread , Eggs and some Fruits for the Breakfast. So cute, have a lot of thanks , Ghina
My family and I (wife and two young kids) were in town for a week, and this place was absolutely great. Impeccably clean, very spacious, very practical, and great location.
Two huge bedrooms with comfy beds; plenty of closet space; nice living/dining room area; full kitchen and laundry facilities. We even had access to an awesome patio in the back yard, with table and grill -- too bad we never used it.
Ghina was a great hostess and was always available to answer any questions or help out. But since we pretty much had everything we needed, we didn't have to ask for much help.
Would DEFINITELY stay there again! Highly recommend it.
Ghina was very welcoming and the unit was as expected. Very clean and spacious.

I really love this city! (though technically I live in Bethesda, MD) I love that I can drive around the DC area mostly without a GPS. Feel very lucky to have my friends and family around, and I look forward to having the same homey feeling when traveling. Lately I've been doing 10 hour radius road trips, Toronto, Indianapolis, Asheville. Hope to extend that internationally soon.
I'm the kind of foodie who likes good "bad food", and like Americans everywhere must have water around all the time! When I'm not doing mundane things, I like to work on my health oriented blog. It really is a way for me to remember the things I've learned during my research.
I look forward to meeting new people whether they come to my place or am hosted. See you soon!
