This was my first experience with Airbnb and it could not have gone better! The apt. was clean, spacious with high end finishes and thoughtful touches like fresh baked cookies and a bottle of wine. The owner treated us like family and provided great advice before arriving and during our stay. Do not hesitate to stay here!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mara's. It's conveniently located near the L train and many restaurants. She was most accommodating to our schedule. Breakfast was delicious and we look forward to visiting Chicago again and staying with Mara.
Thank you Mara for hosting our visit. The unit was neat and clean and very comfortable. Your blueberry oatmeal loaf was delicious! Wayne and Lynn
Mara was awesome! Her guest suite is super comfortable, extremely clean, and very cozy. We stayed during the winter and had no problems with heating at all. We were coming in just for an evening and Mara was very accommodating and welcoming. Fresh sheets, towels, milk in the fridge and a pair of beers waited for us when we arrived. I would totally stay with Mara again, especially given her fantastic location.
Mara's basement apartment was a wonderful place to stay. It's in a fun, convenient, and safe neighborhood with lots of things to do and public transportation. The apartment is clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed staying there and would not hesitate to stay again.
The apartment was very nice. Nice bed And the air madress work very good too.
Kitchen was perfect. Only thing was that the dishwasher was dirty when we arrived.
Our only problem was the heating system. It was very loud, specially in the bedroom. I had a hard time to sleep because of the noise ALL night.
The location of the apartment was perfect. Our landlady was very nice and helpful. If it wasn't for the loude heating system it would have been perfect.
Mara's husband checked us in and showed us around the unit. He was very friendly and helpful. We thought it was adorable that his daughter was reminding him what to show us. The neighborhood is great. A lot of young family's in the neighborhood with a park within a couple of blocks. Again, just a couple of blocks from the house is a shopping area. We walked to "The Fork" one of our favorite restaurants. The unit has plenty of space. Six of us watched the Badger game and were not crowded. Great hosts that respected our privacy.
Runner, mother of two, vegetarian, lover of homemade baked goods. Honeymooned in Morocco and have traveled extensively in Central and South America. My trip to Europe was a quick jaunt to London.
We live upstairs from the apartment and would so love to help with suggesting restaurants and navigating the city. Well-versed on all the best bakeries, restaurants and coffee shops citywide.
Love living the city life with kids and taking advantage of all the great resources Chicago has to offer, especially runs with the Double BOB to the Montrose Harbor Beach on summer days.
