We absolutely loved our stay with Mara. The pictures do justice to how cute the guest suite is. My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary trip and we loved the privacy the home had as well as still being able to meet Mara. The suite was clean and very well taken care of. She welcomed us with a delicious treat and made us feel right at home. The location of the home was perfect. The neighborhood had lots to do and still only a 20 minute train ride away from the city. We are so glad we decided to stay with Mara and would definitely stay there again!
Mara is a fantastic host. The space is exactly as it is pictured. It is comfortable and in a lovely neighborhood within walking distance of charming Lincoln Square shops, restaurants, and cafes. There is plenty of on street parking nearby as well.
I was hosting a bachelorette party in the apartment and Mara helped me with serving plates/utensils and recommended a nearby cheese and wine shop. She even offered to pick up food and help set up if I wanted. She is very friendly, accommodating, and quick to respond to emails. I highly recommend staying with her!
Mara was an over the top host - she was very timely with her email follow up - and answering all my questions - this was my first ABB experience and she set the bar extremely high! I was in Chicago for a class - her apt was perfectly located and easy to find. Mara went out of her way to actually walk over to the building my class was being held to give me an idea of what my walk would be. Great neighborhood close to bus and "L". Beer and groceries less than 5 min walk. She is an attentive hostess, but not overbearing. Great treats at my door after a long day in class. The apartment was marvelous - all the amenities of home! It is tastefully decorated and well appointed. Bed was COMFORTABLE, water was hot, towels were just right. This a a gem of a place! My travels will likely bring me back to Chicago - and I'll be checking to see if the apt is available!
The space was exactly as described, with easy free street parking right out front. Mara made us feel welcomed by providing snacks, and home made treats, in addition to some free bubbly to celebrate us on the night of our wedding. She was a very accommodating and gracious host. Highly recommended!
We recently stayed at Mara's for 3 nights. When we arrived Mara greeted us and took us on a tour of the BnB, giving us instructions on appliances (coffee pot, laundry, etc). Our first nights sleep was incredible. The pillow are like magic and the master bedroom was so peaceful. Our 6 year old loved the air bed and there was plenty of room for a packNplay for our youngest. The next morning we were able to take advantage of Mara's museum pass to visit the Museum of Science and Industry. When we returned we were able to park right in front of the BnB. We decided to take a stroll down Lincoln Ave to find a place for lunch. There are so many options! We went to Rocks and were not disappointed. There is also a grocery within walking distance as well as a Divvy station. After a nap, we woke to freshly baked carrot cake cookies there were amazing! Our daughters ate every last one and were begging for more.
The details of the BnB are exactly as Mara has described in the listing. The BnB is very well maintained and feels like home. The location is very accessible and convenient. We took a night out on the town Saturday even the cab ride from downtown was less than $10.
We are looking forward to future visits to Chicago and will definitely stay with Mara. I would recommend her to anyone traveling that way.
Our stay at Mara's was perfect. The apartment was inviting, immaculate, and located in an interesting neighborhood with on-street parking nearby. It was a very positive experience and I look forward to staying at Mara's again.
This was our first Airbnb experience and it did not disappoint. Mara went over the top with the extra amenities and make sure the place was clean for our visit. Mara was a terrific host who made sure we were all settled in and checked in throughout the weekend to offer anything that we needed. I would highly recommend staying here for anybody visiting the Chicago area. Wonderful experience.
