The neighborhood is central to everything--located in lower middle Manhattan (just above the chic neighborhood of Gramercy Park, which is walkable to). My building is right above a Starbucks, down the street from a large movie theater and Fairway (one of the best supermarkets), 2 blocks from the East River where you can take a nice walk or run, and 1 block away from lots of restaurants and bars.
The apartment is 3 blocks away from the train station/subway and 2 blocks away from the FDR highway. It is within walking distance to many attractions (Empire State and Chrysler buildings, Gramercy area, Madison Square Park, Penn Station and Madison Square Garden, Grand Central, United Nations, East Village, etc). It is a short cab ride away to anywhere in the city as it is located in midtown Manhattan!
I own this apartment and live here year round so I only rent to guests who are respectful of others' properties :) No smoking inside. No pets. No parties or large gatherings.
Julie's home was the perfect place for my weekend stay while I was on a business trip. Julie was a gracious host - leaving little goodies, ear plugs, and great food recommendations. Her place is beautiful, clean, and smells great! The bed and couch were very comfortable and I really enjoyed the rain shower. It was nice having laundry in the building and she left a pre-loaded laundry card that I used. Great front load washer and dryers that were delicate on clothes. I'll be back to stay here!
This was one of the nicest little 1bd apartments I've seen in NYC... and I lived there for years. You would think it is owned by an interior designer. Julie, who I don't know and have never met, was very pleasant in all communication (emails only), and her apartment was better than advertised. She could certainly charge more and it would still be exceptional value. I travel to NYC mainly for business, so didn't spend much time in the apartment, but I could have... its that nice, clean, and well appointed. Julie should quit her job and open boutique hotels. Strongly recommend.
What a fabulous experience. Apartment is exactly as it looks in the photos, Julie was very responsive and accommodated an early check in and late check out. The traffic noise from outside was tolerable, the apartment nice and warm for winter. Excellent location, right by Starbucks and the subway. We explored all of Manhattan very easily and enjoyed returning each night to our lovely chic retreat. Much bigger than a hotel and the bathroom is excellent. Great dinner/drinks options nearby. We will be back!!
Thanks a mill Julie - perfect location, within walking distance of major attractions, plenty of food options nearby, lovely apartment, no hassle getting access etc, a great few days in NY, thanks, will be back!!
Julie was a wonderful host. She sent some useful information in advance to give some good ideas as to what to see, where to go, & where to eat.
The instructions around the apartment & in the welcome pack (which she also emailed in advance) was very useful so we didn't have any issues with simple things like working the shower or tv.
The apartment was just as it is in the pictures.
The only negative was that it was quite noisy at night but Julie did leave earplugs & she can't control the noise outside in such a busy city. After walking around all day we slept through the noise so it didn't make a massive difference anyway.
Julie was an excellent host. She was very prompt with contacting us and sending us information prior to our arrival. She left a list of instructions for the apartment and a wonderful list of places to see/do/eat. This was actually a trip celebrating my 10 year anniversary with my husband and she even left us a bottle of wine which was a nice touch. She checked in with us several times during our stay to make sure everything was going well and to make sure that we didn't need anything. Her apartment was amazing! Very beautiful, yet cozy and comfortable. Loved the neighborhood and extremely close to the subway. Felt very welcome and safe in her building and honestly it left us with feeling like with had a more "authentic" New York experience. Thank you so much for all of your help and for letting us rent your fabulous apartment for the weekend!
Julie's apartment was absolutely fantastic. Not only was it beautifully decorated but it was homely and clean. Located in a great location it meant that we were very close to all the tourist hot spots which was fantastic. She was such a great host, leaving us with a bottle of wine on our arrival! I couldn't recommend Julie as a host more, she was very easy to contact and provide lots of recommendations to help make our trip the best it could be. I'll definitely be back!
