Charming freshly painted bedroom in a Germantown victorian mansion complete with fireplace and flooded with light from bay windows. The bathroom is shared.
Few blocks from train station, less than a block from the bus. 20 minutes from center city.
This is beautiful bedroom located in a historic house on one of the nicest streets of West Central Germantown.
Shared bathroom, kitchen, and sitting room.
Conveniently located to numerous Septa rail and bus lines. Just 2 blocks from the Tulpehocken Station on the Chestnut Hill West line, which takes you to center city in 20 mins and can be reached from the airport with one transfer at 30th Street Station.
No smoking allowed inside, no pets allowed.
A excellent historical villa which is pretty big and nice, and much more amazing than it shows in the picture. It's very convenient to take a rail train from this house to go to Phil. downtown. Rama and Luke are very kind hostess and host. though they always go to work on weekdays. We enjoyed to chat with the African grandma and the babies. It was our pleasure to lodge here, and we'd like to recommend it to anyone who want a perfect lodging!
the room is so cozy and amazing, far greater than the pictures do it justice! and the bathroom was very clean and nice. the house is spectacular and was so conveniently located to my work, so thank you for having me!
my one complaint is the constantly-crying baby the next room over made any time spent in the room painful. most evenings until 10pm and at any time of the day i was randomly there, this baby wailed. i think this should be disclosed for future renters as it was incredibly loud and constant.
Merci Rama pour cette nuit chez toi.
Ta maison est très belle, la chambre est super et très spacieuse tout comme la salle de bain avec son charme à l'ancienne.
Et puis Rama est vraiment formidable !!!
Luke and Rama have a great old home. On the positive side, they are nice people and we liked our room. We also appreciated the fact that Luke provided us with early morning fruit, bread and coffee. On the negative side, they did not respond until the day before we were to arrive to my question about whether someone would be there to meet us or if we needed a key code or something like that. They did not give us a key when we got there but suggested that we call or text them when we arrived back later that night. It felt a bit constraining to worry about whether we'd be waking them up if we got home late. The next day, they left a door unlocked so that we could just walk in, but that also did not seem like a great solution.
The family overall was pleasant and they try their best to make sure you are comfortable. The internet was great there
The Smith family were incredibly gracious hosts! I would recommend them to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in the Philadelphia area. Many thanks to them again!

Luke is an attorney, and lifelong Germantown resident who loves to share his passion for his historic community. Rama is originally from Cote d’Ivoire, in West Africa, and loves to play hostess. Luke and Rama spend their free time playing with their two young children, and (endlessly) restoring their Victorian-era mansion. We hope you’ll stay with us when you’re in the area!
