I had a wonderful and relaxing time at JT and Tippy house. I loved the interior design and decoration of the house. Brought back a lot of memories. I will miss it truly along with JT and Tippy.
JT&Tippy were good host. friendly,kindness.
there was very convenient location because subway station&fulton street are closs from the house.
I want to stay there again.
Tippy and JT were extremely nice hosts. They were very helpful about everything. On my first day in the city I had a tough time getting around, but Tippy was really sweet and helped me out. It didn't feel like I had met them for the first time.
They are good people, and very welcoming and liberal. My stay at their place was perfect- no complaints. They have a wonderful house and 4 lovely cats I had a great time with. The room is everything that you expected when you see the pictures. And the deck is great, overlooking a beautiful backyard.
Overall, I had an amazing time staying with Tippy and JT...they are wonderful people. I would love to stay with them again when I come to New York City. And, if anyone is looking for a homely place with lots of freedom and friendly hosts...this is the place for you.
Staying with JT and Tippy was a great experience and exceeded all expectations. First, their home is beautiful and has that "comfy, homey" feel that one certainly wants to have while...well, being away from home! Nearby are plenty of places to eat within walking distance. There also is a grocery store and a couple of pharmacy's also within walking distance too. JT and Tippy have a kitchen available exclusively for the guests so it was easy to cook. The subway station is less than a block a way so getting to and from the city was no trouble. Also, a very short subway ride takes you to a shopping center. The best part of the experience, however, was JT and Tippy. They are probably some of the nicest, most welcoming hosts one could ask for. It did not feel like we stepped into the home of people we've essentially never met. It felt like going to visit family we've known for many years. There were many times where we would just talk and "catch up" about our day. They were also very accommodating to any need we had. Truthfully, when it was time to go, it was a little sad because we grew so fond of JT and Tippy. Anyone who contemplates staying here will not be disappointed. We hope to find ourselves back in Brooklyn so we can stay with JT and Tippy again or at least stop by to say "hello".
My daughter and her boyfriend had a wonderful stay in Brooklyn. They said the room was beautiful and the family incredibly helpful and nice. I was thrilled they were staying in such a great place with such warm hosts. I can't wait to go there with the rest of my family!
My daughter Arielle lived at Tippy's in the red room for her spring semester. She loved the room. It was huge and she had her own private bathroom which she would not have had in the dorm. She also had use of a kitchen. The location was very close to the subway. She enjoyed the company of everyone at the house. Tippy was very helpful in giving her specific directions to find the house when she first arrived. We definitely recommend staying here.
What a cool and unique experience it was to stay with JT & Tippy in their wonderful Brooklyn home. Both of them open minded, intelectual and easy going professional artists who open their home and their hearts to all the fortunate guests that get to stay in this wonderful historic house in the heart of Brooklyn. As nice as the photos are, they don't do it justice,, this house is way funkyer..
Located about 1 minute walk from the subway with several food stores close by and we'll never forget the great restaurant 'Peaches' recomended to us by Tippy. Best Brunch in town!!
We stayed here for about a month and my parents stayed for a few days in the other room as well. We could not have been happier. We trully got the complete 'Living in New York' experience and will definetely be staying here again on our next trip to the Big Apple.
