Also be aware this is a Rainforest Jungle home built on top of a mountain in the middle of totally wild nature. You enter this wonderful natural reality AT YOUR OWN RISK. There are not concrete pathways with railings just natural bush tracks. Please be prepared with the appropriate attire, bring a torch, wet weather gear & make sure you are fit enough to negotiate this wild pristine natural environment.
Bring a torch!! If it is wet I would ask you to remove your shoes. Bring some walking shoes or wet weather proof ones just in case it rains.
I wake up in the morning surrounded by the tranquility of the wild jungle rainforest. I am in bliss.
A beautiful location and very accommodating host. Robin was exceptional in catering to our needs and at the same time allowed enough privacy to feel we were out in the mountainsides by ourselves. The host also provided a great spread for breakfast
For a chilled out & removed experience of the Byron hinterland I couldn't recommend enough.
We had a wonderful time at The Den. Waking up to a spectacular sunrise each morning and the silence of the forest is so rejuvenating. We walked to the waterfall which was beautiful and enjoyed cheese and wine picnics with the view of the ocean.
Robin asked us if we needed anything else each day and left us to enjoy and relax which was perfect for us.
Our cavoodle Lola was welcomed and having her with us made the trip even more wonderful. We can't wait to come back.
And I thought my property had difficult access! The Den could do with a spring clean, and the nightly rates perhaps need a review. It's a nice setting, with some good walks around, and the breakfast provision was thoughtful. As there are roaming chickens visiting dogs need to stay in the bedroom with you when not on a leash.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll make sure my cleaners do a more thorough job. In regard to the price that includes unlimited pick & drop off from the pick up point. I note you brought your own 4WD so were not really aware of such a service.
Those roaming chickens give us the best & most free range eggs ever. The guests have the benefit of such delicious eggs.
The dogs are a touchy issue. Some dogs are ok, but when once upon a time, a dog shreds a number of chickens in a blood lust frenzy, you do get a little protective. So yes, we have to be careful, not to mention we are surrounded by a National Park, in fact only 20m away & I do reside in what is a high conservation zone. This all makes for added responsibilities & the native animals are very sensitive to dogs.
Thank you & my kind regards to you & Josh.
We had such a pleasant stay in the den, the view was beautiful and there's was lots to explore around the property. Robin and James are very helpful and accommodating but we also had privacy when needed. Can't wait to come back! :)
The location was fantastic, secluded and relaxing which was what we were looking for. Eventhough we didn't get to meet Robin, his neighbours were more than helpful, making our overall experience memorable. I would definitely recommend it for others looking to get away.
It was such an amazing experience to be apart of there! relaxing, and amazing. Would definitely go back again!
