The Space

This is the perfect place to stay when visiting Providence. It has a separate, private entrance to a gorgeous and recently renovated basement apartment in a beautiful, safe, historic, well-located house, less than 1 mile from Brown University and RISD, in the heart of Wayland Square, on the East Side of Providence, RI—the best neighborhood in the city. Nine restaurants, three coffee houses, shops, drug store, bike path, public transportation, Zip car rental . . . just 2 blocks away!

The room is 380 sq. ft. and features 4 windows that give lots of natural light. Key-less digital locks allow you to come and go as you please. Included is parking for one, FIOS wireless internet, cotton linens and towels, fresh toiletries and soaps, hair dryer, personal microwave, refrigerator, and electric kettle. Room is also furnished with a dresser, couch, and coffee table, and everything is always exceptionally clean. Don't settle for dirty Airbnb's when you can have hotel-quality digs right here. Owner lives on the premises and is available when needed. I look forward to your visit!

please note: there is one cat on the premises, although your room is private and closed off from the main house and the cat does not have access to the room.

Guest Access

The apartment is pretty self sufficient, although I am happy to provide whatever else you may need.

Interaction with Guests

I try to keep interaction to a minimum, for your benefit, of course, so that you feel comfortable and private, and so that you have time to explore the city. I am happy, however, to provide any information on the city and its resources that I can offer.

The Neighborhood

Wayland Square is the best, most beautiful, and safest neighborhood in Providence, on the East Side, within one mile of Brown University and RISD, and one block to the famous Blackstone Boulevard and Seekonk River. Within two blocks you will find eight good restaurants, four lively coffee shops, designer clothing and jewelry stores, late-night drug store, convenient Zip car rental, frequently-running buses, and historic architecture all around.

  • Adam was a great host, very attentive during our stay in his basement apartment. It was in a great neighborhood within walking distance to buses, shops and restaurant. The best part was that the bed was fabulous, the towels lush and the shower small but mighty with instant hot water. It was a great experience.

  • Our stay was great. Adam was a great host. Very friendly and offered a lot of info about the area and things to do and see. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the little touches like the snacks and toiletries were great. Adam was accessible when needed but we had total privacy. Great neighborhood with plenty of things within walking distance.

Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

  • Adam was a fantastic host. We stayed during Brown Commencement weekend, and were very happy with the location, above-and-beyond hospitality, and impeccable cleanliness. Room snacks and toiletries were a nice touch!

  • The room was very clean, very spacious, and had all the amenities of a hotel. The bed was really comfortable as well. Access uses a keypad too, so no worries about remembering a key when you go out. Also, the water pressure was fantastic (often overlooked in my opinion). The neighborhood is really nice with all kinds of restaurants and shops, as well as some classic architecture.

Adam went above and beyond for us. He picked us up at the train station and even gave us a quick tour of the surrounding area. Do yourself a favor and stay here.

  • Adam was so accommodating and it was a pleasure staying in his space. The location is great, a short drive from downtown and walking distance to several restaurants and shops. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and he even provides snacks and fresh toiletries! I would definitely recommend this space if you're in the Providence area.

  • Adam was a great host --- went out of his way to make logistics for check-in extremely easy and knew when to be present. The room was as described and hotel-clean. He even left out a basket of small snacks and replenished them throughout the stay. The only downside to the room was that it is in a basement and does not get much natural light --- however, if you're out and about during the day this would present no issues.

    5/5 stay; would return!

  • I stayed with Adam (and Phoebe) for an entire week and I liked their place a lot. The basement studio is absolutely clean and tidy. Adam is very careful about tiny details, and it shows: he cares about having walking maps and restaurant guides available in the guest room, there are plenty of small snacks, oatmeal, coffee, "mini-bar", ... The bathroom is very nicely set-up with big and small shampoos and soap, towels are professionally wrapped, and so on....

Adam's place is less than a mile from Brown campus center; and RISD / ICERM is less than two miles towards downtown. Absolutely walkable, even in snowy winter; Otherwise, around the corner at Wayland square, one can get a coffee at Starbucks and wait for a bus through campus and downtown (roughly every 15-20 minutes, $2 a ride).

    Would stay there again!

  • Adam's place was so amazing, that we decided to stay another night at the end of our trip. Please stay at Adam's when you're in Providence.

  • Adam's apartment was amazing and so comfortable. We arrived late due to the airline, but Adam waited up late for us to make sure we got to his house safely!

The apartment was stocked with a kettle, tea, bottled water, and snacks. That was such a great surprise, and made us feel right at home. The apartment is super close to great coffee shops and restaurants, and a beautiful park.

  • I loved this basement room, which looks exactly like the photo. It was a warm, cosy and comfortable home for my stay in Providence. With the fridge, microwave and kettle I was quite self sufficient for meals and the washer and drier were very convenient. The bed is very comfy, the bathroom is spacious and the whole place is very clean. I enjoyed the 25 minute walk to Brown - a younger, fitter person could do it much quicker. Adam and Phoebe are thoughtful, kind and flexible hosts. I look forward to a future stay.
