I stayed in Jeremy's studio in SoHo for 6 days; my wife stayed with me for the first 4. We both really enjoyed our stay - it was our first time AirBnB'ing, and we will definitely be doing it again (in fact I am in another AirBnB now). The standout things for the studio are really the location, the quietness, the decor, and Jeremy himself - he's a great, attentive host. Jeremy was always very responsive via text or AirBnB message, and he couriered round a second key for my wife the first morning we were there. The location is awesome - Houston Street and Spring Street are really close, and it's pretty easy to hail a cab one street up from the apartment.
Normally I am not a fan of ground floor flats, but Jeremy's was really quiet and felt really safe. The decor is really nice too - it feels very boutique hotel (but for a lot less $$!). TV worked fine, fridge worked fine, we didn't use the cooker.
In terms of the negatives: really only two. The shower pressure was really low - we live in London so actually kind of used to this, but my wife couldn't really wash her hair. Something to be aware of. Secondarily - like a lot of New York flats, there is no internal heating control. The building landlord had the heating on high - so it was really hot the whole time. Definitely better than freezing, and you can open the window to cool the flat down, just be mindful that you're on the ground floor (windows open onto a courtyard).
I think that's everything - all in all a hugely positive first experience on AirBnB. Many thanks to Jeremy for hosting us, and I really hope to stay in this apartment again when I come to New York in a few months.
Great space. Best for a couple or solo. Quiet, but a short walk from a universe of bars & restaurants and the train. I would stay here again.
I had a great stay at Jeremy's place. The location couldn't be beat -close to the subway, shopping, and dining. Jeremy was very accommodating and helpful throughout my stay, arranging early key pick up to drop my bags off and allowing me to store my bags a bit longer on my day of departure. He even came to help me when I had key/door troubles. All in all, a great stay. Only complaint would be the absence of water pressure -a warm, pressurized shower would have been a nice escape from NYC's cold and stormy weather.
This location couldn't be any better if your goal is to wine and dine. The place is small, but you're only there to sleep. Other reviews show issues with the water pressure, there are ways around that. Jeremy was very accessible, always replying almost instantly. (Email is cheaper than a phone call). I recommend highly.
Jeremy's place looks just like the pictures = it is clean and quiet and in a great location. Jeremy was very helpful and responsive, especially when our flight out of New York got cancelled because of a snowstorm. We really appreciate it Jeremy.
I stayed at Jeremy's place for a week while I was in NY for work; it was just what I needed - clean, convenient, and quiet. My flight got in late but it wasn't a problem, Jeremy arranged a key pickup. The water pressure is pretty weak, but that would be my only small complaint. I would stay here again.
Jeremy's studio apartment is charming and "very New York". The bathroom and kitchen were spotless, and he was very prompt in assisting with a couple of issues that arose. The location is great and I hope to stay again.
Overall, our stay here went without a hitch. Jeremy was extremely helpful and accommodating.
The place was clean, comfortable and extremely well located. There are some reviews here stating the subway station was far; I'm not sure where that comes from for the station (1 train Houston station) it's only a block and a half away or less than a 5 minute walk.
But anyway, out stay here was awesome! Will definitely recommend this place and for the price and location it can't be beat.
Our 1 week stay at Jeremy's apt was wonderful! We didn't manage to meet Jeremy, but his girlfriend was very helpful during hanging the key. Thought the apt is really small, it's just enough for a couple. The Houston station is 1,5 blocks away from the house and that is very convenient. Only 3 blocks to the Greenwich village and all the restaurants and bars.
Will definitely think about this apt for the next time in New York!
DJ's SoHo studio was in a great location, close to the subway and all of the shopping, restaurants and bars that make downtown Manhattan my favorite part of the city. The studio itself was quiet - located in the back of the building - and cozy. Though there was no TV as indicated in the amenities, the wireless signal was strong which was great as my provider had little signal in the building.
We had an issue with the key as the door had just been re-locked but DJ hustled over right away to swap out the keys and gave us a great recommendation on a little speakeasy bar a few blocks away. My only complaint would be the water pressure, it was so low that rinsing off soap / shampoo was a bit of a struggle.
