About this listing
I've just redecorated the Casita. It now has a Queen bed, new hardwood floors and a great new color palate.
Just Remodeled! "Casita" means little home in Spanish. This casita is a detached studio about the size of an average hotel room. It has a QUEEN bed, , a mini fridge, microwave and Kuerig coffee maker. There is a 32" lcd tv with basic cable. The bathroom is large, clean and contemporary. The house is only 6 years old.
The casita is located by Unser and Montano, which is a lovely area. Very convenient to stores, restaurants and attractions. It's only fifteen minutes to old town and balloon park, twenty minutes to UNM and uptown and 25 minutes to the airport. Fifteen minutes to Rio Rancho. Please keep in mind that Albuquerque is quite spread out so really, wherever you are you're bound to be close to some attractions but far from other's.
We love having dogs as our guest. Please inquire about pet limitations. Pet cleaning fee $25. This is a Non-Smoking home.
The casita has a private entry. Parking is on the street, usually right in front.
Interaction with Guests
Very minimal. There is a lock box on the door, however, myself or my housekeeper is available should you need help.
There is a park a few blocks away. At the park you'll also find a dog park area and a library. We are walking distance to the Petroglyphs, which are fun to go and see. There are stores, restaurants, churches and medical services all very close to the home.
There is public transportation close to the casita, unfortunately our bus system is quite inconvenient.
Please treat the home with respect, this is a private home made available for guest.
Street parking is readily available.
We accept pets with an additional $25 cleaning fee. When walking your dog in the neighborhood, please pick up after your pet.
Rates are higher during Balloon Fiesta and Holidays and there is a three night minimum stay.
Edgar provides an exceptional value with this new construction casita that shares no common walls with the main house. It's attractively decorated, and the shower is just lovely. We would definitely stay here again.
The casita was a beautiful, private retreat for the week I was there. Edgar made everything really easy and effortless, and I am grateful for the opportunity to stay :)
This little casita was perfect for my stay in Albuquerque. It was quiet, clean and private, exactly what I needed for the month I was there. Even though I didn't personally meet my host, Edgar, he was always very easy to contact and responded quickly to any questions or concerns I had. I fully appreciated the free wifi and satellite t.v., such a nice addition! I would recommend this little casita to anyone wanting a safe, clean & comfortable stay.
Edgar's place was perfect for our weekend getaway to Albuquerque. It was conveniently located, and just the right size for the two of us. It had everything we needed. We especially appreciated the wifi, cable tv, and air conditioning. The bed was comfy and the apartment was clean. Would stay again!
This was our second stay at Edgar's casita, so it felt very familiar. There were a few upgrades since our first stay, including very nice, fresh white linens (sheets and towels) and extended cable TV, both much appreciated. The coffee pot has also been changed to a Keurig (something to keep in mind if you're a coffee drinker -- you should bring some pods.) It's a smallish space, but we knew that coming in. The neighborhood is very quiet and good for walking our small dog. The internet is fast and dependable. Edgar is a good host and everything was as expected. His casita offers an excellent Albuquerque value, especially for Balloon Fiesta week.
Listing is accurate, facilities as described.
Small casita with its own entrance.
Location is close the major roads and highways. Neighborhood is quiet, up scale and safe.
I had a great time staying at Edgar's. It has all the amenities and privacy of a hotel room, without the cost. Like most places in Albuquerque you will probably need a car to get around, but it is close to supermarkets, Walgreens, and restaurants. Having lived in Albuquerque, I can tell you that the neighborhood/area is very nice. Edgar was very responsive, and got back to me almost immediately with all my questions. Highly recommended!
