The roof top flat is in a modern two story house, built in 1995. A wooden parquet floor, a high ceiling with many paintings and a sleeping galery with an extra staircase give it a cosy and stylish atmosphere. The living room has a balcony towards a field with a lot of morning sun. The cute seperate kitchen is fully equipped. A quiet setting with the Prinzregentenbeergarden nextby. Comfortable sleeping facilities for 4 people with a sleeping galery under the roof (2 persons) and a big couchbed in the living room. The comfortable white bathroom has a washing basin and a bath tube.
Centrally located flat in the West of Munich. Excellent shopping in the Pasing Arcade Shopping Center, Beergarden nextby, restaurants, cinemas, bars, theatres. Swimming facilites indoors and outdoors 5 minutes away in the famous "Westbad". Munich downtown 8km to cycle and 20 minutes with the S-Bahn or tube. Bus stop in front of the house. Great location to discover Munich and the surrounding lakes by bicycle as well. 20min to lake Starnberg.
Sanna was an incredible host and made us feel so welcome upon our arrival. She showed us around and got us accounted with her home (which was adorable). She made herself available and made sure we were comfortable. We absolutely loved the loft upstairs and were amazed at how large the bathroom was! The neighborhood was very calm and we felt safe at all times (even on the late nights we came home from the subways). It was very easy to access public transportation from her home if you are not driving, and parking was also easily available, too.
Good stay in the flat. Nice quiet neighbourhood in a good location. Pasing in not in the town centre but has a great shopping arcade and excellent connectivity via bus / tram / train to the city centre.
Sanna let me use her bikes which is ideal as its a 25 minute cycle right into the centre of Munich. There is also a good beer garden within 3 minutes of Sanna's place which is nice to get a bite to eat, a bier and mingle with the locals.
I didn't meet Sanna as I delayed my arrival but her communication was first class and she sorted out entry to flat even though I arrived on a very popular German bank holiday - great service.
If you don't want the noise and bustle (and lack of parking) of the city centre when you finished your day, this is a very good option.
Sanna is very friendly host. Everything was according description. Flat well located, 2 minutes walk to BUS Stop, and 15 Minutes walking to Pasing train station (here you can pick up or exit S8 from airport 10,50 euros per trip).
Modern flat and very clean, wi-fi OK.
My small daughter especially loved Sanna's apartment: the loft, the little balcony, the low sky lights in the kitchen & bathroom which open up those rooms to the sky. We stayed a long time, the whole summer, & it was perfect for 2.
Public transportation is great from the 3rd zone there. We rode bus 57 from Benediktesrr. which is a block from Sanna's to Laimer Platz (took 11 min) where there is a great Rewe supermarket & then connected to the U5 or to other buses. If we rode bus 57 for four minutes in the other direction, we could get very close to the Tenglemann supermarket on Weinbergerstr. or ride the 57 for ten min to Pasing Bahnhof where you could catch the Sbahns & some long distance trains.
Once the tram, I think it was the purple #19, is up & running, that will be even better!
If you ride the U5 from Laimer Platz, you are maybe 10 min to Hauptbahnhof which connects you to everything! So it's pretty quick to get to Munich from Sanna's.
The bus stop after Sanna's stop is Westbad---one of the public pools. That was convenient with a 7-yr-old.
The really close beer garden which is next to Sanna's bus stop, Benediketstr., was super-convenient. Sometimes we came home, tired from Munich, & would get a half a roast chicken for 5.50€.
Sanna's apartment building is very well-maintained both in and outside & is very quiet & safe. There's 4 apartments per floor, 3 floors, & the residents, rather mature in age, were very kind and friendly to us. Sanna has a washing machine in the basement, and the apt. has wi-fi and TV in her apt on the top floor of the building.
The gem, we found by accident when we were riding bikes, is the little stream along the bike paths behind the aforementioned Tenglemann... Close to Pasing center-city. It is on the map--I just don't remember what those bike trails & foot trails are called. It's just beyond the Tenglemann when you're coming from Sanna's. The stream is quiet, gentle, & shallow. We waded in it for hours on hot July days as did a number of locals----but not like the crowds that the Isar River draws!! This stream is shaded by trees, relatively remote, & great for families with small children since this stream could never wash the kids away!! It's an inch deep in parts, and mid-calf in other parts. It's slow-moving & a place you can spend the entire afternoon if you bring a picnic. We wore our "aquatic shoes" which we'd brought from L.L.Bean at home. This stream was my favorite thing about Pasing.
Sanna was very communicative during the process of reserving the apartment, and arranging all of the details for our stay. The key handoff was not quite as organized, as she was out of town and had given me an incorrect phone number for the person who was going to let us in. This issue was resolved pretty quickly, and we were soon settled in. The apartment is in a good, safe neighborhood and only a 15 minute walk to the Pasing train station, not bad at all. Pasing is only a few S-bahn stops from the city centre. There are all sorts of shops, grocery stores, bakeries and places to eat in the area right around the train station as well.
The only real issue we had was that it didn't seem like the apartment had been cleaned before we arrived, which was disappointing.
All in all, we had a great stay in Munich and this apartment was a good home base for our trip.
