When you visit Nuevo Arenal come and stay on a real working organic farm!
Milk a cow, or feed the ducks! We will be happy to explain how this balanced eco system works. And our new addition, come and catch your dinner at your own private lake!

The space

Farm Stay is a idea of mine to let the public see how a organic farm can work. We have designed and built a naturally balanced eco system that feeds itself and us. The property is a natural rain forest paradise that sits on a lush 10 acrs., that over looks the lake of Arenal. We made a dam at the top of the property were the water flows on its own to all parts of the farm. With all that water we planted banana trees, fruit trees, and fenced in the pastures for the cows. We made fish ponds and lakes that are now filled with enough fish to feed many people. Every day is something new here at the farm Stay!

Guest access

You will have access to the working part of the farm and private guest house. And now you have access to your own private lake for fishing and swimming!

Interaction with guests

The Farm Stay guest house is situated in a private setting, close enough to be a part of the farm action, or private enough to be to yourself.

Other things to note

The Farm stay has a compete kitchen for you to cook. With a fridge, toaster oven, pots and pans, and french press coffee pot, coffee, cream, and sugar included. The claw foot bath tub has plenty of hot water for you to relax. The tub now has a shower curtain, if you like a shower ( not shown in photo) And now our new addition is your own private lake! When you stay at the Farm Stay you can go fishing and swimming when ever you like!

My favorite place I stayed on my trip to Costa Rica! Gaia's place is a little hard to find if you can't pull in a GPS signal but you can ask for directions from the chocolate shop in town. Gaia met me when I arrived and immediately took me around to introduce me to all of his farm animals, which was a major reason I had picked his place. And the landscape is stunning! I hiked around his hillside and the view is great... but Gaia's property is luscious and so peaceful. Then he showed me to my quarters, the most perfect studio in-law unit with a claw foot bathtub. If I was going to move to Costa Rica, I would ask Gaia if I could rent this place. While it is just a studio in size, it has everything I needed minus an oven. And clean! The cherry on top was my new BFF, one of his 3 dogs, Buck, a year old pit/husky mix. He's very rambunctious but don't be fooled: he's a lover and once we finally found a gentle space together, he'd come visit me in the morning and the evening to play or get love. I actually cried when I drove away. I would recommend this stay to anyone and everyone.

Gaia was great and the property is beautiful. We had a great stay there. The only thing we recommend is that you have a car to get around. It is a 30 minute walk to town and there is not a ton to do there. But, if you gave a car this is a great central location between the national parks.

We absolutely loved Gaia's wonderful home and property! Gaia was an excellent host, very warm and welcoming. His property is gorgeous and we enjoyed touring the space, learning about the wildlife, and feeding the animals! It was the perfect place to "get away" from our very busy lives. Gaia also gave us great suggestions for things to do in the surrounding Arenal area, places to eat, etc. We overall had such a lovely experience and highly recommend staying here!

Without a doubt my most favorite Airbnb experience thus far. Gaia and Rosi were so hospitable and generous. The home that they have created is incredible and Gaia was very willing to show me everything. The community in the small town of Nuevo Arenal is very welcoming. If you decide to stay with Gaia and Rosi, I recommend that you take full advantage of learning about the things that Gaia has created and spend the majority of your time on the farm. Their way of life and generosity is truly pura vida.

Gaia is an excellent host. The cabin is cozy and the property is wonderful. We enjoyed our one week stay so much! Thank you Gaia :)

Gaia's farm stay was INCREDIBLE. Truly the Costa Rican experience. We wished we had fewer activities planned so we could have enjoyed his beautiful little paradise even more. Stunning location, close to many activities and a town with all of the necessities, and Gaía was a wealth of knowledge and so lovely to get to know a little! We will definitely stay here again if we come back!

Small bathroom is basically in the room with kitchen and beds. Would have liked more privacy between bathroom and the rest of the room. Felt not private unless dark to dress etc.

My passion in life is live in the most beauitful places in the world. I have live in the Swiss mountains, New Zealand, and the deserts of Arizona. Now I live in the high rain forests of Costa Rica. Its like a garden here! The culture is rich with humanity. I learn every day how to be a better person.
