About this listing
Little Place is your own little place in town, an urban pied-à-terre with everything you need to make yourself at home away from home. 10-minute walk to downtown, walking distance to UVM, lake, bike path.
People-watch from the new rooftop deck. (See Little Place 2 if this listing is booked -- also with its own deck -- my temporary amateur pics don't do it justice. Or rent both and meet on this middle deck.) This apartment is your own little place in town, an urban pied-a-terre with everything you need to be at home away from home. Located in Burlington's vibrant Old North End, it's two doors away from the neighborhood gathering place/coffee shop, Barrio Bakery (they have delicious vegan baked goods, too, and dine-in pizza Wednesday through Saturday evenings). It's about a 10-minute walk to downtown, half a block from an Asian Market with fresh produce as well as great takeout, and there's a convenience store across the street. Walking distance to the waterfront and bike paths, the University of Vermont, and Fletcher Allen Hospital. 45-minute drive to Stowe. Private entrance, queen bed, equipped kitchen, bath with shower (no tub), off-street parking, WiFi, AC, hairdryer, couch clicks flat for a third guest. Coffee, tea, milk, juice, organic granola provided. Smoke-free.
Posted price includes cleaning fee and the 11% VT room and meals tax. Single-night reservations or a third guest is an additional $20 — please message me so I may send a special offer with the correct rate. During summer and foliage season, single-night reservations on the weekends will be accepted on a case-by-case basis. The apartment is the top floor front of my triplex.
Guests are welcome to enjoy the backyard but their own deck is more private and less buggy. They have an assigned parking space at the front right-hand side of the driveway.
Interaction with Guests
I like to meet my guests when they arrive or soon after (I work part time away from home) and orient them to the apartment and the local amenities. I'm a knock on the door away if I'm home or available by cell phone if I'm not. I respect the guests' privacy although I'm always happy to run into them in passing and hear about their adventures.
The Old North End is close to everything and home to new families, long-time residents, students, artists, immigrants and is enjoying a revival with many start-up businesses, pop-up cafes, community gardens.
One-night stay is $195, 11% VT room and meals tax included.
Not really suitable for more than two guests (although the couch clicks flat to a non-standard bed size in a pinch) or children under 12.
I live on the first floor, reasonable courtesies expected.
LED candles provided for flame-free ambience.
My husband and I stayed at Linda's Little Place Guest House for 2 nights, and it is marvelous! We loved the location (2 doors away from a fantastic bakery) in the North End within walking distance of so many things in Burlington, and just as important, we loved the apartment's design, colors, space utilization and rooftop terrace. Linda has the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the area. Just as important, we appreciate Linda's warm welcome and conversation over a glass of wine. The Little Place Guest House is on our wish list!
This apartment was just as lovely as it looks in the photos, in a nice neighborhood with easy access to the downtown area. Linda accommodated our request to check in early so we could get ready for a wedding, and included some very nice touches like orange juice and delicious granola from the neighborhood bakery that we enjoyed for breakfast. We only stayed for one night, so we didn't have a chance to spend time out on the private porch, but that would be a great place to eat a meal/hang out if you had a slightly longer stay. I would definitely recommend staying at the Little Place Guest House -- it's a bright and cheerful space with all the amenities two people need and a great location for those looking to explore the charming city of Burlington!
We had a wonderful stay at the Little Guest House. The place was perfect for the two of us and Linda made us feel right at home. The coffee, granola, juice and milk was an added bonus! We will happily stay here again the next time we make it to Burlington. Thank you Linda!
I stayed at The Little Place Guest House for 3 nights and every aspect of my experience with the apartment and the Host, Linda was truly superb. Linda provided a meet and greet that was greatly appreciated in terms of a quick orientation, provision of a Burlington map and several spot-on tips. She also kindly offered to go across the road and get some ice for my recently broken ankle.
The apartment is superb. It is immaculately maintained with all the amenities I wanted and a number of added value items (by reference to numerous other Airbnb visits I made), specifically superb granola from the local (3 doors away coffee/bakery shop), a bottle of milk, a bottle of OJ and a access to a wonderful sun trap deck.
I can't say enough nice things about this place. The location was wonderful, and the apartment was immaculate. The attention to detail (French press coffee, granola, orange juice, and milk) was much appreciated. Will definitely stay again when in Burlington.
My stay at The Little Place Guest House was wonderful! It was my first Airbnb experience, and it couldn't have gone more smoothly. The apartment is beautiful and -- as described -- convenient to Church Street and other points downtown. The deck is a great spot for morning coffee and baked goods from the lovely bakery up the street.
Linda was easy to work with and very thoughtful. When I arrived to check in holding a bouquet of flowers from the farmers market she went to her own apartment to get a vase for me.
First time for me using Air BB. Was very easy. Linda's place was just as she described. Cute, clean, and nice location. Baccio Bakery two doors down had great breakfast pastries plus tasty thin elegant pizzas at night. Recommend staying here. Linda has a lovely place and nice touches that make you feel cared for.
