About This Listing
Little Place is your own little place in town, an urban pied-à-terre with everything you need to make yourself at home away from home. 10-minute walk to downtown, walking distance to UVM, lake, bike path.
People-watch from the new rooftop deck. (See Little Place 2 if this listing is booked -- also with its own deck -- my temporary amateur pics don't do it justice. Or rent both and meet on this middle deck.) This apartment is your own little place in town, an urban pied-a-terre with everything you need to be at home away from home. Located in Burlington's vibrant Old North End, it's two doors away from the neighborhood gathering place/coffee shop, Barrio Bakery (they have delicious vegan baked goods, too, and dine-in pizza Wednesday through Saturday evenings). It's about a 10-minute walk to downtown, half a block from an Asian Market with fresh produce as well as great takeout, and there's a convenience store across the street. Walking distance to the waterfront and bike paths, the University of Vermont, and Fletcher Allen Hospital. 45-minute drive to Stowe. Private entrance, queen bed, equipped kitchen, bath with shower (no tub), off-street parking, WiFi, AC, hairdryer, couch clicks flat for a third guest. Coffee, tea, milk, juice, organic granola provided. Smoke-free.
Posted price includes cleaning fee and the 11% VT room and meals tax. Single-night reservations or a third guest is an additional $20 — please message me so I may send a special offer with the correct rate. During summer and foliage season, single-night reservations on the weekends will be accepted on a case-by-case basis. The apartment is the top floor front of my triplex.
Guests are welcome to enjoy the backyard but their own deck is more private and less buggy. They have an assigned parking space at the front right-hand side of the driveway.
Interaction with Guests
I like to meet my guests when they arrive or soon after (I work part time away from home) and orient them to the apartment and the local amenities. I'm a knock on the door away if I'm home or available by cell phone if I'm not. I respect the guests' privacy although I'm always happy to run into them in passing and hear about their adventures.
The Old North End is close to everything and home to new families, long-time residents, students, artists, immigrants and is enjoying a revival with many start-up businesses, pop-up cafes, community gardens.
One-night stay is $195, 11% VT room and meals tax included.
Not really suitable for more than two guests (although the couch clicks flat to a non-standard bed size in a pinch) or children under 12.
I live on the first floor, reasonable courtesies expected.
LED candles provided for flame-free ambience.
We had such a wonderful weekend staying at Linda's home. It was a great location and we were able to walk everywhere (Lake Champlain & Downtown are a nice little walk), and staying here was such a nice little oasis....we loved having our own little place, the deck and the kitchenette were nice touches. The organic local granola was a great treat, too. Thank you so much Linda, everything couldn't have been more perfect. We would recommend to anyone!
Cute little place, we enjoyed our stay. Great for a cozy romantic weekend. Great location - easy biking distance to downtown/Church Street Market. Everything was clean and in working order. We enjoyed having breakfast on the deck. We supplemented Linda's provided granola/milk/oj with delicious pastries from her recommended bakery next to the house. The only very minor disadvantage that I saw is the bedroom faces a busy street, and traffic/people noise interrupted my sleep a few times - so fellow light sleepers bring earplugs. :)
Nice little apartment. Everything was as described. Linda was very accommodating. I thought the freshly squeezed OJ and organic milk and granola was a real nice touch.
My husband and I stayed one night in Little Guest House 2. Linda was great to deal with and the suite was exactly as advertised and was very comfortable. Linda has thought of everything you could want including coffee, orange juice, milk and granola for breakfast. We would definitely stay here again!
We were so comfortable staying at Little Place Guest House. Linda has thought of everything one might need and has clearly put a lot of effort and thought into creating this space. Her attention to detail is evident throughout. When was the last time you rented a space that had living plants? The layout of the space and the decor are spot on. The towels and sheets are top quality which add a luxury feel. When I would look for something in the kitchen it was always there. Wine opener.. got it, cheese grater..got it, recycle bin...got it. An added bonus is the deck. Get yourself a pizza from the bakery a few doors down (not your average pizza btw) add a bottle of wine and enjoy an evening dining alfresco. A great host in a good location in a fun little city. Thank you Linda for enriching our Burlington experience!
Linda was a great host...very accommodating and welcoming. The "Little Place" lived up to its listing on the website. It was cozy, extremely clean and cheerful. The neighborhood was close to lots of great restaurants and there was a cute coffee shop on the corner. We would definitely stay here again.
Linda was very welcoming and provided local milk, juice, and granola upon our arrival. The Little Place Guest House was an excellent choice for our visit in Burlington. Close to the lake and shopping. Very comfortable and clean! When we visit Burlington again we will be sure to stay at the Guest House.
