New rooftop deck not pictured yet will be in place for 2014. (See Little Place 2 if this listing is booked -- also with deck -- my temporary amateur pics don't do it justice.) This apartment is your own little place in town, an urban pied-a-terre with everything you need to be at home away from home. Located in Burlington's vibrant Old North End, it's two doors away from the neighborhood gathering place/coffee shop, Barrio Bakery (they have delicious vegan baked goods, too, and dine-in pizza Thursday through Saturday evenings). It's about a 10-minute walk to downtown, half a block from an Asian Market with fresh produce as well as great takeout, and there's a convenience store across the street. Walking distance to the waterfront and bike paths, the University of Vermont, and Fletcher Allen Hospital. 45-minute drive to Stowe. Private entrance, queen bed, equipped kitchen, bath with shower (no tub), off-street parking, WiFi, AC, hairdryer, couch clicks flat for a third guest. Coffee, tea, milk, juice, organic granola provided. Smoke-free.
Posted price includes cleaning fee and the 11% VT room and meals tax. Single-night reservations or a third guest is an additional $20 — please message me so I may send a special offer with the correct rate. During foliage season, single-night reservations on the weekends will be accepted on a case-by-case basis. The apartment is the top floor of my duplex.
Guests are welcome to enjoy the backyard but their own deck is more private and less buggy. They have an assigned parking space at the front right-hand side of the driveway.
I like to meet my guests when they arrive or soon after (I work part time away from home) and orient them to the apartment and the local amenities. I'm a knock on the door away if I'm home or available by cell phone if I'm not. I respect the guests' privacy although I'm always happy to run into them in passing and hear about their adventures.
The Old North End is close to everything and home to new families, long-time residents, students, artists, immigrants and is enjoying a revival with many start-up businesses, pop-up cafes, community gardens.
We really enjoyed our stay. The guest house was clean, well decorated, charming and welcoming. We could walk to downtown in about 15 minutes. Linda was very nice and made us feel welcome. I would recommend this guest house to anyone traveling to VT!!!
Linda (email hidden) - relaxed about logistics, communicative, and thoughtful. The apartment was clean, tastefully decorated, and conveniently located within walking or short-driving distance to downtown and UVM. I wish I could have spent more time there!
Gorgeous urban apartment with private deck- steps away from a local bakery and only a quick 10 minute walk to downtown. My husband + I spent our honeymoon here + enjoyed every second of it. Linda (email hidden) and was very helpful giving suggestions on where to eat and how to get downtown.
An adorable guest house close to downtown Burlington that has everything you need for a weekend away. Clean, comfortable and complete with all the amenities. We will definitely be back to stay longer in the future!
This listing was everything we expected and more. Linda's eye for design and color is matched only by her thoughtfulness. She has thought of everything. This is a great location and far exceeds any hotel experience. Thank you Linda!
What a charming little place and it's only a ten minute walk to all the great spots in Burlington!
I highly recommend Linda's Little Place Guest House. It is as lovely and welcoming as her photos suggest. It's very comfortable with a "zen-like" ambience. Lots of natural light and ample space. Very clean and inviting.
(Do be prepared to haul your stuff up the stairs to the apartment.) Linda -- who lives downstairs -- made us feel very welcome, explaining everything carefully and thoughtfully. Her creativity is evident everywhere, inside and out.
The neighborhood is great. It's ethnically diverse and a short walk to everything. We frequented the pizza/bakery two doors down and the people there and the food are fantastic. Then, it's only about 10 minutes to Church St, the fun pedestrian area. Go down hill and you can walk along the Lake for almost ever.
If I were returning to Burlington, I'd book with Linda.
The guest house is a great setup with a modern interior. There was granola, milk, coffee, tea, and orange juice provided in the guest house kitchen. Though I didn't go to it, there is also a bakery about 100 ft from the doorstep of the guesthouse. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the Church Street Marketplace, so there's lots to do nearby. This (email hidden) to stay if you're in the Burlington area.
This was my second stay at the Little Place since I enjoyed it so much the first time. The addition of the deck upstairs made it even better! The space is adorable and very comfortable. I was there for my daughter's graduation from UVM and the location is perfect to walk to campus or Church Street or to the water. Linda is a very attentive and accommodating host. She has taken care to furnish the guest house with every thing you need as well as some treats like super comfortable sheets on the bed (something I really appreciate). Highly recommended!
Our experience with Linda and her guest house was fantastic! We could not have asked for a nicer, more welcoming host or place. The location is within easy biking distance to downtown and all the local hot spots. I cannot more highly recommend staying here! She was extremely accommodating, even letting us keep our bikes in her narrow hallway to keep them dry during Burlington's random spring rains.
