About this listing

This is my favorite room in the house. I think you will love it too! There is a super comfy double bed with nice natural fiber bedding. I decorated the room with my daughters art (she's off to college!) and some of our favorite things.

Description

The Space

It's a very sweet room- smaller than the other room "Sweet Craftsman Near Downtown" but still my favorite. There is a bathroom with a clawfoot bathtub/shower combo right next to your room. Sorry, no dogs please.

*Confirmed guests PLEASE read your "Itinerary" once your stay is booked so you know how to check yourself in, where to park, etc. This property has self check in instructions.

Combine this room with my other room "Sweet Craftsman" -which is right across the hall- if you are traveling with friends!

I think you will love the stylish and cozy feel of our home. Although the house looks and feels vintage, it underwent a major remodel several years ago and has a clean modern feel, without losing vintage charm. In the Summer months you can enjoy our backyard and swimming pool (with a great tube style water slide!)

There is a market 1 block away, Santa Rosa's Historic Railroad Square is a mere 8 block walk, and downtown Santa Rosa (RUSSIAN RIVER BREWERY) is a mile away- a 20 minute walk.

Railroad Square is the neighborhood a quick walk away where you will find restaurants & bars, coffee shops, 2 wine bars, antiques & thrift shops, and my yarn shop too!

If we are hosting a beginning knitting class during your stay we would like to invite you to a free lesson.

Things to do in the area:
Beer & Wine:

The Russian River Brewery -they currently have the worlds #1 & #3 beers!!- is downtown, about a 20 minute walk or a 3 minute drive. A lot of my guests are coming here to visit this brewery!

Wine & food! You will have no trouble finding places to go wine tasting and eat very well if that's your thing. I can recommend some restaurants & places to taste wine if you like.

The Joe Rodota Bike trail is a half block from our house, this trail will take you in many directions- to West County to ride the hills, or a quick jaunt downtown.

The Hyatt Vineyard Creek Hotel (where many conventions are held) is between our home & downtown, a 8-10 minute walk.

Santa Rosa is home to several exciting events- Levi's Grand Fondo bike race finish line for The Amgen Tour of California Wunderkammer, and more!

40 miles to the ocean- Highway 1 along this stretch is AMAZING anytime of the year.
San Francisco is about an hour South of us.
Healdsburg, Petaluma and Sonoma are quaint towns within 30 miles, Calistoga, Napa & St Helena within 60 miles.
Hundreds of wineries within a 60 mile radius!

You are welcome to use the living room & kitchen/dining. Please ask before preparing large meals so we can schedule around each other. If you need to do some laundry that's fine too. If it is swimming weather please swim! There are pool towels out there in the pool room.

I tend to chat with guests a bit, maybe 10-20 minutes upon arrival or when we first meet, but for the most part I do my own thing and so do they. I am busy and am not home when most people arrive, but almost always meet each guest.

You are very close to hwy 101, hwy 12 & within walking distance to downtown Santa Rosa.

Guest Access

You can use the kitchen for preparing simple meals, but please no elaborate meal making. It's a small kitchen for multiple guests so I prefer that guest use it for light "Heat & Eat" meals only.

The backyard and swimming pool area are available to you too, please ask before inviting guests over.

Interaction with Guests

I tend to chat with guests a bit, maybe 10-20 minutes upon arrival or when we first meet, but for the most part I do my own thing and so do they. I am busy and am not home when most people arrive, but almost always meet each guest.

The Neighborhood

I love that my neighborhood is so close to Hwy 101 & Hwy 12, Historic Railroad Square and Downtown. Our street is very secluded and private, a dead end road that many locals don't know it exists even though it's so close to town. I am friends with many of my neighbors and feel incredibly safe here.

Getting Around

You are very close to Hwy 101 which runs North & South, Hwy 12 that runs East & West, and within walking distance to downtown Santa Rosa. Santa Rosa has Lyft & Uber services as well as public transportation and traditional taxi cabs. There is little wait for taxi services and there is a bus stop a block from my house and the main bus terminal is a 20 minute walk. You can easily find wine tour info, many of the tour busses pick up at the Hyatt which is a 10 minute walk from here.

HOUSE RULES

THE DOG: The most important rule is do not let my dog out the FRONT door or any side gates in the back yard! She is very excited and friendly and will run up to the door when you arrive, you must enter rather quickly so she doesn’t slip out! Her name is Olive.

THE CAT: She can go in or out as she pleases. Her name is Jewell.

PERSONAL ITEMS: Please keep your toiletries in your room, not in the small shared bathroom. You may store groceries in the refrigerator.

LINENS: If you need more linens that what you see in your room check the closet right outside your door.

OUTDOORS: Please leave the pool area as you found it, the pool is a shared area so do not leave your towels & personal items by the pool when you leave for the afternoon.

LAUNDRY: Please ask first.

COOKING: Please limit kitchen use to “continental breakfast” and heating items, not preparing full meals.

NOISE: Please be respectful of other guests, myself, and our neighbors and keep it down after 10:00 PM and before 9:00 AM. In the night please be aware that our old wooden beautiful doors are quite loud, don’t shut them loudly when going to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

ADDITIONAL GUESTS: Please ask me before inviting friends over. I'm usually fine with it if you have a friend or 2 that lives in the area and wants to visit, I just like to be asked ahead of time.

I live in Santa Rosa, California. I own the local yarn shop here, and have a lovely home that I like renting out on Airbnb!
