About this listing
Upstairs apartment ( kitchen and bath) has two bedrooms to comfortably sleep five. From our vintage home walk one block to public transportation that accesses all of Portland, or five blocks to the vibrant historic Hollywood district.
Our biggest plus is location: $25 cab from airport or public transportation from airport or train station; quiet residential neighborhood; several historic districts within walking distance; nearby public transportation (light rail and bus) give access to the entire Portland Metro area. We rarely use our car. View the space in the pictures. We will provide coffee/tea and breakfast snacks for you to serve yourselves.
You will be able to use our lovely, enclosed backyard garden with patio table/four chairs/peaceful shady bench and watch the humming birds and gold finches splash in the water feature.
Be aware that as it is an upstairs apartment, there are stairs to climb....23 stairs total from the sidewalk level to the apartment level.
Interaction with Guests
While you will have my cellphone number so that I can try to meet any needs you have, you didn't come to Portland to visit with us. I will be just downstairs most of the time, but probably will not interface with you unless you want me to.
Quiet old residential neighborhood, many 100+ year- old, well-kept homes, beautiful yards with many flowering plants and mature trees.
Definitely good access to public transportation. One block to a bus that takes you the 9 blocks to the Hollywood transit center with access to the light rail which goes to the PDX airport or into down town. That same bus will take you over to the Amtrak railroad station.
Other Things to Note
We now have a Short Term Rental Permit from the City of Portland. Also note that a queen bed is in one bedroom and a double bed and two single beds in the other bedroom. We only rent to five persons at a time. 15-121185-000-00-HO
Definitely no smoking inside the apartment or anywhere on the property. And we do not rent to persons who are bringing a pet along.
I'm a retired Chemistry Professor and I am totally hooked on family genealogy, and maintaining my health through continuous aerobic exercise (cycling). That is Leslie, my wife of 40 years, in the picture. She lives here too and you may see her if she is not working.
