Nice room with a roof window and your own bathroom, in a quiet neighborhood between the airport and the city centre. Very comfortable for one person, and it also fits two. Enjoy free wifi and access to the TV room with a great view to Kvaløya.
Welcome to my spare bedroom (email hidden) bed and your own bathroom in the top floor of my two storey apartment. It has 3 bedrooms, a TV room, living room/kitchen and 2 bathrooms, at the 2nd and 3rd floor of a large wooden house with 10 apartments.
The bedroom has a closet and a cabinet if you need some space for your luggage. It has a roof window with a nice view to the stars and sometimes the aurora - northern light. It is possible to put an extra mattress on the floor if you want to share the room with someone but not the bed.
The upstairs bathroom is placed across the hallway from your room, and has a shower and a toilet. We use the bathroom downstairs while you are visiting.
Wifi is available, and you are welcome to use the TV room next to the bedroom.
Breakfast with tea/coffee, milk, juice, eggs, bread, cheese and home made jam is served in the kitchen Saturdays and Sundays. You are welcome to fix your own breakfast in the kitchen during the weekdays, because I am off to work in the morning and won't have time to serve you then. The kitchen is only available for breakfast. Breakfast is included in the room price.
You may use the hot water kettle in the kitchen to make yourself coffee and tea any time. Coffe and tea is included in the price.
Linens and towels included.
Baby travel bed and baby linen can be provided. Baby high chair available.
Reflector vests, head lights and crampons for your shoes on icy roads are available for you to borrow in winter time, if you like to go for walks on the island.
The apartment is placed in the Bo i Nord/Workinnmarka neighborhood in Tromsø, 3,8 km from the city centre, only a 5 minute drive from the airport. Bus nr. 40 that goes from the airport and to the city centre passes by, just a 5 minute walk from the house to the bus stop. The house is also within walking distance to the University area at Breivika, a 25 minute walk, and a 10 minute walk from the Jekta shopping centre at Langnes.
I live with my 9 year old son and two cats, so if you have cat allergy this is not the place for you. If you like children or bring a child with you, this is a good place to stay!
Welcome to Tromsø!
The neighborhood is quiet, with a nice vegetation around the houses, not windy in summer time, we have the evening sun - and the midnight sun can be enjoyed from my balcony in the middle of the summer.
Bus 40 goes to and from from the airport, stops in my neighborhood, and goes further on to the city centre. It is easy to get to and from the airport to my place, and the bus drive from my street to the city centre is only a 10 minute drive.
I had three night in your appartment and it was very great, the room with the tv is very big and there is a great view of Kvaloya. Katrina is really friendly and explained everything well, it also helped me in choosing a tour to the Northern Lights. I think I'd like to return to Tromso summer and it would be a pleasure to return to this apartment because it was a very good place to be.
Thanks for all !
Katrines house is located extremely good if you just arrived in Tromso or are about to leave. It's a very short busride (or walk) towards the airport. Katrine was so kind to stay up for us because we arrived at 00:30. When we woke up she was already gone, but she left us delicious home made bread and jam!
That was fantastic, wonderful!!
Katrine's home is lovely. It's a shared flat, but we basically had the entire top floor - our bedroom, a bathroom and a living room with a bay window overlooking the bridge and mountains. Perfect for relaxing and researching the Northern Lights. She even picked us up from the airport (very close by) and once when we missed the bus to the city. Her home is clean, her cats are great and she helped up plan a lot of our trip. I have nothing but great things to say. If you want to avoid the insane hotel prices, are okay with staying a few miles away from the city center, and want to stay with someone who knows the area, I would seriously consider this option.
Katerine is a very hospital woman.
She has a really nice house which is nearby the airport and easy to reach by bus.
She surprised us in the morning with delicious home made bread and jam.
Stayed for one night with Katrine and family but had a great welcome and an excellent night's sleep. Katrine was good enough to recommend us a place to eat and book taxis. After being woken by her lovely cat Lotta we enjoyed a super home made breakfast (being lucky to stay on a Friday night). Highly recommended.
Katrine was an excellent host. She deserves a gold medal for:
-letting her 2 cats to play with us
Katrine become my INSTANT airbnb friend in Norway and I'm very thankful that we could stay at her beautiful house. We received instructions on Aurora Borealis photography, city public transportation, and even text messages from her son's father when to look into the sky while "hunting" for the Northern Lights.
Did I mention the airport pick up and a fresh bread (from the best bakery in town), home made delicious fruit spread, cheese, and tea waiting for us?
I can I only hope that Katrine will allowed me to stay at her place again if I ever visit Tromso again!
P.S. I miss Lotta & Gabriel
Katrine is really nice and friendly. She helped me a lot and l felt like home! I really enjoy the days staying with her and the house is so nice. I love her son and 2 cute cats also. Thank you for everything.
I had a wonderful time staying at Katrine's. She has a wonderful house and family. If you have any where to go, make sure you go to all of them before you go back to her house, because it's just so warm, lovely, and too good to leave once you get comfy in it!
Katrine is a great host, very friendly and helpful. I got very lucky to be able to see the light at my last night. Katrine and her family definitely make Tromso a much better place to visit, and I'd love to visit and stay at her's again!
We were a bit unlucky, staying for a week in early Feb and not seeing the lights at all, so it was good to stay at Katrine and Ulrik's (and not to forget the cats') place - it is so nice and cozy and homely there, a true northern light in itself :) Everything was as described and better. So, we would come back any time!
PS Tromso is a great place in winter even if you don't see the lights. We walked the snowy trails in the centre of the island for hours, they're so well-lit and it wasn't cold at all (being used to Berlin winters).
