Guests highlight the cozy, comfortable feel and praise Janine as a responsive, helpful host
Our beautifully converted 1978 GMC RTS-2 bus offers a one-of-a-kind Arctic retreat. Nestled in North Pole, this "rolling home" has been redesigned into an open-concept space.
If you're here to chase the Northern Lights or explore summer in Alaska, this bus provides a unique experience.
Inside is a Queen bed, and a fold out couch for extra sleeping arrangements. The Kitchen area has a sink, 2 burner cooktop and cookware.
Just a few steps outside is the bathhouse with a full shower and toilet.
The space
This is our favorite property for viewing the northern lights, not just because the Birch Bus itself gives an amazing opportunity to view the Aurora from inside your Airbnb, but the property itself is built on tundra and small black spruce, offering full 360° view of the sky.
In the summer this property offers a perfect hub for your adventures between Fairbanks and North Pole and is just a 15 minute drive from the Fairbanks Airport, and about 5 minutes to downtown North Pole.
Guest access
The entire property during your stay will be yours, the property goes back behind the bus about 100ft and its amazing back there to view the northern Lights, please feel free to walk around and explore, but also respect the neighboring properties.
Other things to note
Located in a quiet, semi-wooded area, the Birch Bus feels private and tucked away, there is a visible neighboring property, though the Birch Bus itself remains calm and secluded.
