Frank & Lynda are excellent hosts - I was in town for a week at a conference, and my room here was the most wonderful and welcoming oasis. They always made me feel so at home and were very gracious and kind. And, they make great coffee!
Frank and Linda's place is great and they are wonderful hosts. Lovely street and house and a perfect airy light filled room. Appreciated the snacks and water very much after a long journey and the well stocked toiletries. Thanks !
The room was exactly as described and hosts in New London were very welcoming. It was very close to the harbour with cafes etc
Wonderful and pleasant. the hosts were accomodating, went out of their way and we loved the historic street.
Frank and Lynda's room is truly wonderful and exactly how they describe it in their profile.
Location: The house is on a quaint little street that is minutes away from the Ferry as well as Amtrak. We were able to get to Mystic, the Nautilus, and Mohegan Sun, all within 30 minutes or so. The Block Island Ferry is right by their house. We loved the little restaurants and bars in the neighborhood.
The Room and Amenities: The room is gorgeous with fully functional amenities and a private entrance and bathroom, which allowed us to go in and out without disturbing our hosts, as well as enjoy our privacy. The room is equipped with a spacious closet, a TV, and a wonderful little snack pack put together by the hosts. The brochures in the room were extremely helpful- we discovered "The Who" were playing just 20 minutes away and managed to attend the concert thanks to the weekly local newspaper that they gave us. They provided us with linen and toiletries (right from toothpaste, to body wash, to bandaids) in the bathroom, that was extremely helpful.
The Hosts: Frank and Lynda are always available to help but never intrusive of their guests' space. The flexible check in and check out time was a real blessing, given that we got stuck in Memorial day traffic- they were extremely gracious and flexible. They greeted us when we arrived and truly made us feel at home. On one of the days of our stay when we needed beach towels, Lynda made them available to us. They even offered to allow us to use their patio if we felt like it. Both of them were always available via text if we had any questions.
I highly recommend staying here if you plan on visiting any neighboring islands or towns. They're truly wonderful hosts with a beautiful home!
The McLaughlin's guest suite is a great place to stay in New London! The room was very comfortable and I appreciated the extras like the snack basket provided in the room. I had a relaxing and enjoyable visit and would stay there again!
It is the one of the kind Airbnb experience. The place is absolutely lovely and Frank and Lynda are amazing hosts. The house is well-organized with artsy decorations. And you can have more than a hotel room can offer--- from hair blow dryer to nail clipper. My boyfriend and I went to New London for a weekend getaway there. The location is great, and nice restaurants are in walking distance. If you are looking for a place to stay in New London, you won't make a mistake by choosing this house.
