Nestled into the side of the valley in the Bells Beach Hinterland, the architecturally designed Ironbark Guesthouse is a tranquil retreat for those looking to connect with nature and explore the rugged coastline of the Great Ocean Road.
Soak in the valley views - hear the kookaburras song on sunset, cosy up by the fire pit and admire the starry sky.
A stones throw from some of the regions best surf beach's and nature trails the Ironbark Guesthouse has everything you need for a relaxing escape.
The space
The Ironbark Guesthouse is located on a private and secure 10 acre property that features native Ironbarks that are of significance to the Bells Beach, Ironbark Basin and Point Addis area. The guesthouse faces the northern Bellbrae/Jan Juc valley with rolling hills that stretch up towards the Great Ocean Road.
The guesthouse location gives you easy access to the world class surfing reserve of Bells Beach as well as local mountain bike trails, the Great Ocean Walk, Point Addis beach, Torquay and Anglesea golf courses, the Jan Juc/Torquay/Anglesea townships and surrounds.
As the name suggests the ‘guesthouse’ is the secondary building to the main cottage which is occupied by the property manager and family further down the hill. Rest assured the guesthouse and its northern gardens are for your quiet enjoyment.
Architecturally designed, the guesthouse features luxury finishes such as travertine tiled floors with underfloor heating, wool carpets, marble benchtops and Astra Walker tapware throughout. Custom joinery and lighting emphasise the attention to detail in this high end build. The lighting and blinds are controlled in each room by a main control panel that is labelled for ease of use. The solid timber windows operate as tilt and turn euro style windows that can be vented from the top for air flow or opened as a casement style window. The bedrooms feature Australian made bedding topped with stone washed linens and a variety of pillow types. The bathroom features Bells Beach Herbalist hair and body products with Saarde Turkish cotton towels. The kitchenette is equipped with integrated fridge/freezer, farmhouse sink, microwave/oven, tea and coffee making, toaster and toaster maker, blender, dishwasher. The outdoor BBQ is perfect for all types of cooking with gas side burner and 6 burner BBQ plate and grill. The outdoor dining area seats 4.
The guesthouse sits adjacent a working farm so as well as the rolling valley views and kangaroos you may also see the odd tractor or farm vehicles from time to time.
There is a resident Kelpie named Coco - she is very friendly and may wander up to say hello. However we understand dogs are not everyone's cup of tea, so if you would prefer she is secured for your stay please advise at the time of booking.
The property is off grid - powered by solar with battery backup and rain water is harvested and stored in stainless steel tanks. The rain water is filtered with a 4 stage Puretec filtration system ensuring the water you are drinking is pure, clean rain water. We also use a septic system for all waste water - PLEASE DO NOT FLUSH ANYTHING OTHER THAN TOILET PAPER provided.
Guest access
Guest access is via a key pad at the front gate entry and a key pad at the front door of the guesthouse.
Codes will be notified prior to arrival and will be unique for each guest.
