We love our inner city East Nashville neighborhood. Having two dogs we are fortunate to have a great neighborhood to walk them. Just a few blocks from our home is the entrance to Shelby Bottoms (Nashville's largest greenway and park). It's a great place to take a walk (or jog) and loose yourself in nature and forget that you are in a city! Just 1 1/2 miles from our home is one of several East Nashville's treasures, Riverside Village which is home to fantastic places like Mitchell's Deli, Castrillo's Pizza, a coffee shop, Ice Cream Shop, a local English Pub and exquisite Asian dining at Watannabe's.
Nashville's public transportation leaves a lot to be desired. However the city bus does have a stop 3/4 of a mile away. There is also taxi service available. We have ample parking too!

For those looking for an affordable, comfortable living space in a quiet section of East Nashville, this is your place.
Kate and I stayed with Luis and David (and their two wonderful/friendly dogs Bella and Arwen) in their upstairs room for almost 2 1/2 months during our transition to living in Nashville. Their home quickly became a comfortable/convenient place for us to kick off our job search/house hunt in Nashville. We really enjoyed the perks of having access to a full (cook friendly) kitchen, space to store food, and a spacious room with a comfy queen bed and sizable closet.
David and Luis take really good care of their home and operate their space like a true B&B. They were great hosts from day one, when they welcomed us in and helped us feel not only settled in to their home, but in to the Nashville community as well. They do a great job getting to know their guests and giving them recommendations and insights on things going on around the area that might be of interest.
Overall, Kate and I were very grateful to find such a positive long term living space with convenient access to everything that Nashville offers. David and Luis (and their home) are perfect examples of what makes AirBnB so great!
I lived in Nashville for the past three years and had to move out of town several months ago for an internship. I needed I place to stay for a week in December as I finished out my academic program at Vanderbilt. David and Luis were a pleasure to stay with during this time. David was great about communicating via text and email before my arrival. When I arrived, everything was clean and comfortable. A basket of spring water, granola bars, and trial mix was waiting on the work desk in the bedroom along with a very comfortable queen bed with fresh linens and a pile of freshly laundered towels. The house is rather small, but you certainly have enough privacy. David and Luis sleep in the downstairs area and spend most of their time during the day down there, while you are on the ground floor with your own bedroom and bathroom, and enjoy shared use of the living room and kitchen.
Although my week was busy and I didn't spend a lot of time at the house, David and Luis are incredibly interesting people and I enjoyed lounging in the comfortable living room, chatting and watching TV with them in the evenings. After only a week, it's clear that they are genuine and kind. They invited me share some of their dinner and baked goods on a few occasions (David is an excellent cook and baker), and on the day that David was supposed to bring Luis to see the Titans for his first NFL football game, David wasn't feeling well, and invited me to go in his place! I mean, WOW!
A plus is that David and Luis have two awesome dogs--and I am NOT a dog person after a harrowing experience as a child. Seriously, these are the most pleasant, sweet, well-trained dogs I have ever met. They are very loving and will try to snuggle up and get a belly scratch, but if you'd rather keep your distance, they respond well to commands and will listen to you.
The house is located in South Inglewood, which is about a 10-15 minutes driving time east of the downtown area. East Nashville has become "the place to be" for many locals (including myself) because of the diverse, progressive, and rapidly evolving scene. The East Side definitely has the best selection of restaurants, bars, and shops--I recommend The Silly Goose for dinner and Jeni's Spendid Ice Creams for dessert, both a 5 minute drive from David and Luis' house.
The best review that you can give to someone one here is probably staying at their place again, which I have already booked. Highly recommended!
My husband and I stayed with David and Luis for one night on our way through Nashville. They were are first Airbnb experience, and I couldn't be more pleased. We were graciously accommodated at the last minute, which was made possible by David's speedy communication. The provided room, as well as the rest of the house, was pristine, calm, and comfortable. The dogs are very well trained and the breakfast was delicious. Overall, my husband and I felt safe and comfortable.
David and Luis are very nice people. The place looks as great in person as it does in the photos. Everything was clean and the breakfasts were great. And we can't forget to mention the two adorable and playful dogs. A great Nashville experience.
David and Luis are the perfect hosts! This was our first experience using Airbnb and we could not have enjoyed it more. The house was absolutely lovely and our room was delightful. David and Luis went well and truly over and above to make us feel welcome and comfortable in their home. They took the time to help us in any way they could and David even organised a hair appointment for me and even came by the salon to make sure I was being taken care of. Breakfast was delicious and fresh and most of all we enjoyed chatting with both of them and now feel like we have 2 new friends. David and Luis are wonderful people and we would highly recommend them, in fact we doubt if we will ever find hosts as warm and accommodating. Overall it was the perfect experience.
David and Luis were the perfect hosts - flexible, considerate, attentive, welcoming, generous, and tuned in to detail. I loved chatting with them (pretty sure we knew each other in another life) and their bedroom/bath combination is clean, nicely decorated, private, and comfortable. Their dogs are pretty adorable and incredibly well behaved - and confined to their own spaces so no problem for anyone who's not a pet person. They thought of everything, including shampoos, etc. in the bath and snacks and water in our room when we got there - nice touches that make you feel welcome.
David and Luis have great instincts as hosts. They actually live on a separate level of the house, so you rarely see them, but when we needed recommendations or were in the mood to socialize, they were there. They are "people-persons," but in the best possible way- interested in what you're doing and engaged in the conversation without being overly chatty or intrusive into your vacation time. They put out a lovely spread for breakfast - fruit, yogurt, homemade banana bread (yum), and introduced us to great local food havens, like the best ice cream shop I've ever been to.
I will definitely stay with them again if I need a place to crash in Nashville, and I highly recommend their home to travelers. It's not in the middle of Nashville, but that's what I loved - discovering the restaurants and hang-outs in a trendy part of the city I hadn't been to. It's an easy drive to get to anywhere you're going - but a homey neighborhood where you feel like a resident instead of a tourist. You will definitely enjoy your time there, and will have fun chatting with two guys who are intelligent, charming, witty, talented, and very thoughtful.
David and Luis were truly wonderful to stay with! They made me feel welcomed from the day I got to Nashville. David's communication before my trip was very helpful and was in a timely manner. The house's location is only a short walk to the nearest bus stop which can take you downtown. Both of the dogs at their house are very friendly and enjoy people. The bed in the bedroom was very comfortable and everything was as the pictures showed!
David had plenty of information to give me about the bus stops and routes that they take. Luis gave me information about areas that I would have never found on my own. Both David and Luis were great hosts and made my first AirBnB stay a memorable one. I can't thank the two of you enough for giving me rides downtown when you were able to!
I would HIGHLY recommend David and Luis when in Nashville! They are great people and I really enjoyed my time with them.
Thanks again for everything David and Luis!
David and Luis were great to stay with when I was visiting Nashville. David contacted me right away about the room and space, sent me his cell# for contact, called to check on my arirval and was ready for my stay. The room and house were clean and well kept and breakfast and coffee were ready each day that I was there. The house has shared living room/dining/kitchen areas that are clean and comfortable and the bedroom is the same with its own bathroom for private use. It was great to stay with them and David was very knowledgeable about the city and how to get around. Having a car is best for the location but it is still only 15 minutes from downtown. There are a few restaurants, a coffee shop and pub about a 3 minute car ride away. They have 2 dogs that are quiet and well behaved and they don't jump, bite, or bark as some dogs might do with strangers in their house. Upon returning to Nashville, I would stay there without hesitation as well as reccomend the house to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, affordable space with great hosts.
I went to Nashville for a conference that was held at a hotel in the vicinity of Opryland. I was going to be in Nashville for 5 days. David and Luis were wonderful hosts and I would stay with them again. Their home was warm and welcoming, and I was able to get great rest; unlike some of my fellow conference attendees who stayed at the hotel and commented on the noise during the evenings. David and Luis' home was very accessible, taking less than 10 minutes to reach the conference hotel from their home. Breakfast was available each morning and delicious, including fresh fruit daily. They provided recommendations to a quaint area a few minutes from their home where I could get dinner. All in all it was a great experience and I'd rate my stay higher if possible.
David and Luis were an absolute pleasure to stay with. These guys are so kind, caring, intelligent, funny, and accommodating that it truly felt as if we were staying with close friends or family.
Since it was our first time using airbnb, we were a little anxious for our visit. David and Luis couldn't have made for a better first time experience. Very beautiful and comfortable home located just a short drive from Downtown Nashville and right up the road from awesome hot spots in East Nashville... perfect for us! They provided us with info, maps, and coupon books which we used daily.
We look forward to using airbnb again and would certainly stay with David and Luis on our next visit to Music City! Let us know when you guys are in Orlando, FL!!
Also, Arwen and Bella are the greatest. Very cute, friendly, and well behaved dogs!
