The Art Deco building that houses the apartment has a beautiful interior with a prominent courtyard. The space itself has original bas relief moldings framing the high ceilings. The welcoming living room is decorated with pieces of my art, and the entire apartment is dotted with fresh greenery. A stack of guidebooks to the city are at your disposal, as well as anything else in my library. The kitchen is well-stocked with everything you need to cook, and coffee and tea are free all day.
This is an ideal room for arty travelers and writers looking for alternative housing or just students looking for a cheap, fanciful place to stay.
There is one shared bathroom in apartment.
Free WIFI, guidebooks, rechargeable public transport cards, kitchen, washing machine, earplugs (if needed), a Mexican pay-as-you-go SIM card (rechargeable at any convenience store), housecleaning service (included in the price).
Optional: I am a Spanish teacher for an American company that offers courses for expats living around the world. As such, I am happy to offer my services in the way of classes, and helpful pointers on key words or phrases are free of charge.
In addition to Spanish, I speak English, French and Italian fluently. I am happy to recommend interesting places to visit in the city, especially spaces and events connected to art and culture.
Open-minded, easy-going, friendly guests are very welcome in my home. Besides this is a gay friendly space.
Part of the reason I rent my space is to have the opportunity to meet people from around the world. I enjoy leisurely conversations on the arts, travel, languages, sharing experiences from different cultures and exchanging points of view. I welcome you to invite friends you might have or make here to the apartment. It’s all about mutual respect and communication in the household. I want my guests to feel they are in their own home.
Also, non-smokers and smokers are welcome in my house.
Just please wash the stuff you use in the kitchen!
This was our first Airbnb experience and we had a veeeeeeeery good experience!
The house was beautiful, close to the subway (Cuauhtemoc, Line 1 and Balderas, Line 3) and there was a store across the street open 24/7. The room was big and comfortable, exactly as it’s shown in the pics; there was some noise from the street at night, but we solved the problem with a pair of ear plugs provided by Elias! ;)
Elias is a great host, very friendly and helpful: he suggest us places to visit and where to eat; he provide us guidebooks and we had some wonderful conversations about art, travel and culture. And he speaks english, italian, spanish and french! Muchas gracias! 3
Elías was welcoming and ready for our arrival.
The room is much more spacious than it looks, and the bed and sheets are extremely comfortable.
From the get-go, Elías showed us how everything worked but allowed us our own space.
His knowledge of Mexico (both contemporary and otherwise) was simply astonishing! He offered us a plethora of paper resources and invaluable tips.
Even more appreciated was him essentially integrating us into his life during our stay: he invited us to a couple of events, dedicated a good portion of one day to show us around, and we shared food together on more than one occasion.
Elías is quite laid-back and honest.
I would not hesitate to stay with him again--if he'll have me!--nor to recommend him and his space to others.
I very much look forward to seeing Elías again--in an Airbnb context or anywhere else.
Es un verdadero placer conocer a una persona tan linda como él. Además tiene un conocimiento increíble y profundo de su ciudad igual como lo de su país.
Thank you for offering your space on Airbnb, Elías:)
Elias was friendly and welcoming and the bed was super comfortable. There was some noise from the street at night, but not enough to keep us up. Building and apartment were not as nice as other places we stayed in Mexico city for about the same price, but nothing to complain about and we had good experience.
Elias is a great host and couldn't be more helpful and friendly. The house is beautiful and the room is very comfortable with everything you need to call this a home. When I arrived, Elias immediately took all the time necessary to assist me in getting organized and even took his own time to come with me at Telcel to acquire a MX telephone considering my long stay in MX. The installation was exactly as it is shown in the photographs. Overall, an a great downtown location with all the services you need close by including all public transportation. I will come back! Price was reasonable.
We had a great time in the Elias's apartment ! Always willing for helping us!
Elias' s room is described very accurately and it is in a great location. It is walking distance to many good restaurants and bars. Elias was very helpful with learning the city.
I had a wonderful experience at Elias' place which is right in the heart of Juarez, a convenient location to the metro, to Amberes Calle, to the Infanta, and Insurgentes, the two main roads, and to a lively, and safe neighbourhood. Elias was in Europe travelling, but he left me in the generous and capable hands of Jorge, who patiently waited for me in the apartment when i was late arriving, and who gave me detailed instructions about everything and everywhere i wanted to go, all in English - Wow! Then Jorge accompanied me on my second night, to a bar and we had a meal together, which was all completely above and beyond the call of duty, but which i very much appreciated. Antonio, another friend of Elias' was there at the apartment for the first night and he left me a lovely note exactly explaining how to work the key to the front door! brillliant. The apartment was a lovely artists' apartment with paintings and sculptures all around the flat, and the bed was wonderfully soft with plenty of extra blankets for that time of year! Thankyou for a tremendous stay!!
