You'll be located at the palace point, where the first Byzantine Palace was built and later the Ottomans founded their capital and built the Topkapi Palace. My family has been living at the same spot for the last 120 years and our neighbours, the Cagaloglus have been living here for the last 400 years. This is one of the last remaining neighborhoods in the Sultanahmet area.
You can access the Sultanahmet and Çemberlitaş tram stations by 10 mins walking. Similarly you can access the bus by 5 mins walking. The ferries are about 10 mins by car or 3 stops by tram.
We can provide you airport transfer through our transfer partner from either airport, if you ask for it. They charge 70 TL from Ataturk Airport and 160 TL from Sabiha Gokcen Airport. Similarly there are private shuttles and joint shuttles leaving to the airports. The return trips are cheaper since it doesn't involve the waiting.
We can book you the tickets if you let us know in advance. You can pay the transfer with your credit card over Airbnb, we can make a request and pay the transfer guys for you. Otherwise they accept cash. So prepare it beforehand. Sometimes they might not have a change for a 100. Cabs to/from Ataturk airport cost about 50 TL.
Don't take a cab from Sabiha Gokcen. Take the bus to Taksim followed by a cab or tram.
You can buy museum tickets in advance. Especially Hagia Sophia and Basilica Cistern queues can be very long. For 5 TL overhead per ticket, we can get the tickets for you and make it available on your arrival.
We offer daily and half daily to tours. Please let us know if you are interested.

We loved our stay at Sultanahmet Gardens so much that we extended our vacation to have an extra day in Instabul. The apartment is very clean, is close walking distance to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, and the Grand Bazaar is not too far away. Tansel arranged for a taxi driver to meet us at the airport, and to take us back to the airport in plenty of time for our fight. (The driver was also great -- he was fluent in English, and pointed out good places to visit the next time we're in Istanbul. He also recommended a good restaurant that had views across the Bosphorus.)
This location was definitely hard for our taxi drivers to find, but we eventually made it there, both times we had to take a cab, and Tansel's wife was nice and helpful in meeting us. Everything was clean and as promised: two bedrooms and a bath, Istanbul card for transit and a phone provided. I'd assumed a living room that didn't exist, but the back garden was more extensive and beautiful than I'd imagined, with a wonderful view over the water. We definitely appreciated the WiFi (and the hot water), and the location worked out for touring as much of the old city as we had time for.
This place in Istanbul was a good place to stay! Close to all the historic sights. Tansel was friendly and was attentive to our needs.
The location was AMAZING. Literally a five minute walk from most major attractions. Everything here was as listed. Tansel also arranged transportation to and from the airport which was as priced and on time. The phone, map, and directions were incredibly thoughtful. Wished we could've stayed longer. Highly recommend.
Tansel was a fantastic host and was always available when needed. We were met by Tansel and shown through the accommodation and settled-in without problem. The accommodation is well situated to explore the wonders of Sultanahmet and is close to restaurants and mini-markets as well as transport at Sultanahmet Square. We thouroughly enjoyed our time in Istanbul.

About the Host, Tansel
I'm a computer engineer from Turkey, Istanbul. Our family is running the Sultanahmet Gardens, a garden complex with 4 units. We offer an exclusive sea view terrace, a suite with 3 bedrooms and a hotel type junior suite. We have been living in this neighborhood for the last 120 years. You won't be disappointed.
The remains of the first Byzantine Palace. It was occupied during the IV. Crusade by the Latins and later abandoned. It's visible below the sea walls.
Most visitors miss the Mosiac Museum. It's a beautiful collection of Roman secular palace mosaics showing hunting scenes and animals. It's right beside the Arasta Bazaar.
This is a usually missed jewel. The Nakkas carpet store has a beautifully preserved cistern underneath the shop. Just ask for permission to view it. Sometimes they host art exhibits and events.
This is a top restaurant frequented by locals. It offers a fixed menu and it specializes in Greek food and fish. Highly recommended.
The name of the restaurant means "Mind your own business". This restaurant was built before the coastal highway in 1956. Back then it was the only establishment out of the gate. Great sea food.
The former church of Saints Sergius and Bacchus was converted to a mosque by Husein Aga, the chief black eunuch. It is still a functional mosque with a Christian background. Don't miss it.
This is a restaurant by the city administration of Fatih. They have good food, reasonable prices and a great sea view. It's good if you just arrived and want to eat something or for breakfast.
After seeing the Basilica Cistern pay a visit to the Cistern of Philoxenos. Slightly smaller but deeper than the Basilica Cistern, it hosts weddings and events.
You can see churches, cathedrals, mosques all over the world, but the cisterns are unique to Istanbul. It has an amazing atmosphere and you'll never realize that there was a cistern benath you.
The Cemberlitas public bath is both historical and affordable. Locals from all around Istanbul still use this hamam and you get the best quality without touristical prices. A masterpiece by Sinan.
Kumkapı is not far from you and it is a great dinner location. Greek style sea food and drinks are served with appetizer plates (meze). Might be full of tourist groups, so arrive early.
