Getting around

Getting Around in Philly
It's super easy to get around in Philadelphia. Public transit - both the bus and subway- is conveniently located near our home.

If you plan to arrive to Philadelphia on megabus, bolt bus, or Amtrak you will be arriving into 30th Street Station in Philadelphia. The easiest way to go from 30th Street Station to our home would be to take a cab - it should be around $10. Public transportation is also convenient you can use the blue subway line headed east and take it to city hall. Then at the city hall stop there is a free interchange to the orange subway line. Take this line north to the spring garden stop. We're only a couple of blocks away from there!

Parking in our neighborhood is generally a breeze. There's a lot of on - street parking in our neighborhood right by the house. Just make sure that you pay attention to the signs when you park; some of the spots have time limits ( like 2 hours during the day) but there are many spots with no limits at all!

  • Becky and Oscar were very friendly hosts. We didnt meet Becky, but Oscar was very nice and generous. Unfortunately, we didnt spent very much time with them, but our first impression was really positive!! The home is really confortable and cozy, and its very near the subway. Its the perfect place to stay in Philly. :)

  • This location offered a relaxing, comfortable atmosphere to kick back and get a good night's sleep after a long day of visiting in the inner city. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating, and they made our stay in Philadelphia a more enjoyable one by providing us with detailed maps, travel advice, and other information as we requested it. They have mastered the perfect combination of giving guests their needed privacy yet still being available when anything might be needed. We enjoyed delightful conversations with the young, professional couple who are the hosts. The building is located on a quiet, gentrified street in one of the old city neighborhoods and within walking distance of the city center and many historical attractions. The lodging offers a comfortable-size bedroom, shared bathroom, living/dining area, fully-equipped kitchen, and a spacious outside patio balcony with live plants, table and chairs, and a nice view. The rooms are clean, well-lit, ventilated, and air-conditioned. We could not have been happier with the accommodations and location!

  • Becky and Oscar are two of the coolest people we have ever met, and, we hope, soon to be two of our better friends. We LOVED them. They are warm and still professional...laid back and yet always (email hidden)d so anxious to please! We never thought shared quarters could be better than private quarters, but we had so much fun during our stay that we are now believers. B & O, you ROCK!

  • Becky and Oscar were amazing hosts! They were here when we arrived and when we left (but it's easy to get or leave the keys when they're not), gave us lots of tips about Philly (what to do, where to get a cheese steak). They have a very nice appartement which is at walking distance fron the city center, and the subway is nearby. It was a perfect first airbnb experience!!

  • Oscar and Becky are so sweet; both my husband and I wish we could have spent more time with them in their lovely home! This was our first AirBnB experience, and I feel like they've set the bar high for us!
Our flights were delayed a bit, and we ended up checking in at about 1:00 am. Thankfully, Oscar and Becky were incredibly accommodating and we were able to get in without a single problem. The neighborhood felt very safe, even at 1:00 am. Parking was a little crazy since it was so late. Tip: If you're there during the summer, weekend, or holiday, park next to the school! The room itself was tidy, neat, and homey (they even had maps and candy next to the bed!). They had just added a wardrobe in there as well which was super helpful in getting organized.
We were in and out a lot, since we were there for a wedding and I was a bridesmaid, but when we did have a chance to chat with them, they were so helpful! If we didn't already have plans for our meals, we would have definitely taken some of the recommendations that Oscar offered.
We checked out the morning of the wedding we were to go to, and ended up leaving behind something. Within 2 hours, they had emailed/texted us to let us know, and they were so kind in waiting around for us to pick it up.
If you visit Philly and plan to be anywhere near Center City, you HAVE to stay with Oscar and Becky!

  • Becky and Oscar are really nice hosts. We had a warm and friendly welcome after a stressful day of sightseeing.
The apartment is in a very nice and silent area in Philly and all sights are within 20-30 walking distance or even shorter by metro.
The room and the apartment in whole is very clean, safe and cozy (even a nice balcony to chill).
Definitelly one of the best places to stay in Philadelphia!!

PS: Even better the fact that they sent me some stuff i had forgotten!!! Thank you so much guys!

We are life-long learners and educators. We're very laid back and respect other people's privacy, but we're also very happy to give you advice during your stay (combined we've got about 30 years living in the Philly area). In the summer, we love to garden and spend time on our patio, filled with flowers and fresh herbs. We love Fairmount Park, local (and international) museums, and enjoy a good book. Our place is perfect for someone looking for a comfortable and affordable stay while in Philly - it's the best choice for any traveler!
