Description

The Space

Surrounded by an 8 foot hibiscus hedge and artisan gate, you are secluded on our double lot, but not far from beaches and attractions. Our two bedroom home has a queen bed in the Master BR and two twins in the 2nd BR. A full bath nestles between the two bedrooms, and an outside shower cools you after a day of beaching or hiking. Our private back patio is equipped with a gas grill and dining table with benches. Our front porch offers shaded seating as you watch the hummingbirds and butterflies flutter about. There are several hammocks for relaxing outside.

The entire gated double lot site is yours during your stay. A safe box is available for your valuables and the home is equipped with an alarm system.

Our property manager will greet you, show you the house and grounds, and help get you settled in. He is a native, speaks perfect English, and is a wealth of information on his beautiful country. In addition, he is an expert surfer incase you want to check out the waves!

Mostly ticos (natives) and Americans live in our neighborhood, which is well maintained by the owners. Everyone is friendly and ready to help with directions, etc. Our town has several great restaurants, two bars (one is on the beach), tour operators offering excursions that include zip lining and ATV tours, and a general store that sells a great variety of groceries and household items.

The public bus stops on our corner and the bus system covers the entire country. However, it is not air conditioned and not for the faint at heart as it gets very crowded. Many ticos commute to school and work on the bus system. If you want to see a lot during your stay, rent a 4X4 or car. Many non-essential roads are dirt roads and a 4X4 is best.

If hiking is on your vacation list, bring hiking boots or similar footwear. Also, water socks are good if you plan on exploring rivers and waterfalls. Always lock your car and keep valuables out of sight as to not invite trouble. As is the case in any city or country, be aware of your surroundings.

Aileen: A lover of travel since I was a young girl, I fell in love with Costa RIca from the moment I arrived! The people are hospitable with contagious smiles, the lifestyle is free of stress with emphasis on family and friends, and the endless beauty is everywhere! Let me share this blue zone country where you will make friends for life and be planning your next trip before you leave! Scarlet macaws and other exotic birds, several types of monkeys, sloths the largest array of butterflies in the world, and many adventures await you. I've been going back for 11 years and plan on retirement in CR when the day comes. It's Pura Vida (national slogan) all the way!
