Interaction with Guests

I may or may not be home when guests are due to my work and travel schedules.

  • Marta's place is really lovely. It's well decorated, has every kitchen appliance you can think of and is super cozy! Overall, it's a great option for Traverse City. It's not exactly what I would call walkable to downtown, but we did walk from the main strip back to the place, and it was very doable. And keep in mind that this was in the middle of winter so I'm sure it would be a lovely walk in the summer time. I would definitely recommend this place, but I would make sure that the dog is not staying downstairs as he can be a bit noisy if he's home alone. Marta is a great host and was more than happy to get the pup when he was barking.

  • My family and I had a fantastic stay at Marta's lovely home. We never actually got to meet Marta, but she made our stay our breeze. It was very easy to check in and out and she provided lots of really great information about the area. The location is great for exploring Traverse City! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

  • Marta was very flexible and easy to communicate with about our weekend stay. We especially appreciated the goodies she left out for a little pasta dinner we hosted there, which we enjoyed on the patio with friends who were also visiting. The house was clean and comfortable for four of us, including two kiddos who enjoyed the backyard. The location just outside of downtown makes it very easy to get around Traverse City and the surrounding area.

  • Marta was wonderful to work with. Because three of the four people in our party have severe allergies, we were unable to stay at her place. (I was not made aware of her dog when I booked with her) She very graciously refunded half of our money (which was one night). This place is advertised as being downtown Traverse City which to me seemed inaccurate. It seemed more like mid-town.

  • Lovely home in a great location. Perfect for a weekend! Do be aware that I believe there is a dog around when guests aren't in the house, so if you're severely allergic you may want to consider that. Not a problem for us, and we had a good time in Traverse City.

  • Marta was fantastic! There was some confusion on our end about dates of arrival and Marta took care of everything. She made sure our trip continued without a hiccup!

The "SoFo Place" is super cute and was a great location for a weekend in Traverse City! There was plenty of space and Marta even provided us with some snacks which my future brother in law took full advantage of! We will definitely be returning!

  • The four of us had a delightful time in Traverse City - great weekend destination! Our stay at Marta and Jimmy's was so perfect. Quiet neighborhood and not far from downtown TC. Their home was a perfect place - quaint, modern and lovely! They were completely available for questions and stayed in contact throughout our visit, before and at the end. We enjoyed meeting them - great couple! We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

About
After traveling Europe for a few years, I've decided to play grown-up for a bit. My roots are currently in Traverse City, MI. USA where I work as a Brand Manager for a marketing agency. Bicycles, micro-brews, local food and spending time with friends fill my days. Buddy the Dog is a new addition to the house. He's a 6 year old Beagle who loves the world! I love meeting my guests and having a sly drink if it works with their schedule. I also have a few bikes that guests can use if they want to get about the city a bit faster.
