  • Beautiful cottage. Everything was very clean and orderly. It was a very windy night but the cottage remained warm and sturdy. Highly recommend it. Wish we could've stayed longer!

  • An amazing place to stay for a slice of secluded Iceland. Perhaps not quite as isolated as the pictures may have you think, but a brilliant place to stay nonetheless. There's something nice about being able to see your bedroom, living room, kitchen, dining room and toilet all from the same spot.

The place is well equipped for cooking and general living. My only gripe would be to cool it down on the rules. I get that not everyone may take care of things as well as others, but the rules were a bit totalitarian.

  • Good place, and the Cabin is very Well Furnished. PLEASE do respect the rules, it is for the pleasure of everybody! :-D

  • Very nice cabin. Had a wonderful stay.

  • Very nice cottage =)

  • The cottage is small and cute. It was a little annoying to have so many rules posted throughout the cottage on every wall and every switch. But it certainly was well equipped and we had everything we needed. The location is beautiful, although very much out off the main highway. There is no close grocery store, so come with your food, although there are plenty of cooking utensils and tools. The loft is crowded with children's things which made it difficult to lay the mattresses down. There is a pull out couch, but a little coffee table is in the way. The bathroom was so full of cleaning supplies, it was difficult to move around. In general, the cottage is very crowded.

  • Great place to stay! Very well equiped in a nice area.

  • If you are looking for a place to get away this is it! We stayed here at the start of our Iceland trip. The place was clean and very cute! Behind the cabin is a small network of hiking trails that overlooks the beautiful Greenland Sea. This place right on the coast, don't be confused by the mountainous hills in the the background of the picture! right behind those hills is the open sea! The hiking trails are so fun to walk and watch the sea birds. The town is a sleepy fishing village that has a supermarket and one restaurant that has WiFi internet and is a country western themed bar/grill. We would go back here in a heartbeat! The only thing is that you have to clean the cabin thoroughly before you leave! It's not hard, but you have to do it because the owners live far away which sort of takes the laid back "vacation feel" away a little bit. But we were fine doing it because this was the cheapest place we stayed at. The host is very nice and was very quick to respond to my messages when needed! While we were here we went to Akureyri, the "capitol of the north" which was about...2 hours away. Wonderful little town, and you have to go to the Kjarnaskogur forest right beside Akureyri, one of the highlights of our trip. We also went to the Westfjords while staying here which was more like a 6 hour drive but worth every hour. It was a really rough drive but the coastal views, waterfalls, and the sight of the puffins at Latrabjarg made it worth it! The other days we took it easy and relaxed in this cozy cabin! Go here!

  • Great place to stay! Skagastrond is a strange and charming place! We had a great time in the cabin and in northern Iceland! Would stay here again!

  • We stayed in Skagastrond for two nights. These nights we spent at this cozy cabin. Everything was well prepared, clean and looked fantastic. The apartment is decorated so lovely that it is actually a pity to stay there only for a few nights.
We loved the ocean almost directly behind the cottage. The cottage itself has such a warm atmosphere that it makes it difficult to leave ;-) We would definitely recommend this cabin!
