About This Listing
Spacious, luxury condo, private room and bathroom, hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, flat screen T.V, seconds from the beach, in the heart of Capitola Village. You will have access to the entire place, friendly, great host and cook. Lots to do here.
I have a beautiful, luxurious beach condo. Hard wood floors, fireplace, large flat screen T.V, large comfy couch, modern kitchen, dishwasher, sunny bay window and seconds from the beach. ***Please note, I do have TWO cats! They are very friendly and keep pretty much to themselves and hang out mostly in my room. I also keep the place VERY clean, so there is no fur on the furniture. If the cats are a problem I'm happy to keep them closed in my room. If you are an animal lover though, you'll really love them! My place is pretty big so there is lots of space for everyone to live comfortably. :)
Guests will have access to pretty much everything.
Interaction with Guests
I can interact with you as much or as little as you like. Depending on what you and I have going on.
My neighborhood is a small beach town. Everyone knows everyone. We have a nice variety of restaurants, bars and shops to keep you busy.
There are bus stops but walking is usually a better choice. It's a small town and everything is about a 2-3 minute walk.
Other Things to Note
I can't offer any parking. There is street parking that is metered from 8am until 8pm. Bring quarters! I can show you a spot to park that you could leave for days or weeks, if you don't mind a short walk.
Respectful. No over night guests.
Tara was a wonderful host! My wife and I loved staying at her condo in Capitola - perfect location, a block from the main drag, and very comfortable accommodations. She made us a delicious breakfast complete with mimosas, and gave us recommendations on what to do during our stay. We'd definitely stay there again.
A few words are insufficient to detail the incredible stay I had at the Crip Beach Pad in Capitola with Tara. First, let's talk location - 300 feet from the beach? In the middle of Capitola Village, surrounded by restaurants, shops, pubs, bars, and the beautiful ocean air - yet placed in a quiet compound where a good night's rest is never an issue. I can't rave enough about the location - the plush mattress, the fully-stocked kitchen, your own bathroom (no streaks on the shower glass!). Two super-cute cats; Lemon who will sell her soul for a stay in your lap, and Stoli who will be your invisible shadow, always just out of sight and carefully watching you from a distance, endearing yet ephemeral. It's a given that you'd want to stay in this resort, and enjoy it. But the real value-add is Tara herself - the greatest AirBnB hostess I've ever had. Tara will be your housemate - her room is just down the hall - and she'll be the housemate you've always wished you had. Conscientious, accommodating, friendly, considerate - I was thrilled to share Tara's home for a week. Tara knows everyone and everything in Capitola. Need a parking spot for your vehicle? Want to know where to go for a good beer, or where to buy what you need? Ask her - she'll point you in the right direction. That said, you'll need very little, because she'll make you breakfast (weekend special) and you'd be silly to go anywhere else (the secret is the slow-cooked eggs!). Staying on a weekday? Tara made lunches that made my colleagues envious when I took them in to work. Oh, she also cooks an incredible dinner, unless for some reason you don't like flank steak marinated for 2 days prior to your arrival. Besides food (I am a man - I think with my stomach), Tara volunteers to help you get to know the area as much or as little as you like. Want to meet her shiny friends and go out for a night on the town? She'll introduce you. Need a quiet evening to read about the history of locomotive boiler evolution? She'll let you be. The involvement is up to you, though you'll find that after no time at all Tara will be your friend and confidante and you'll be thrilled with your wise AirBnB choice. I really can't say enough about this experience, and not only am I happy to call Tara my friend, I'll be back, either as a visitor - or permanently. That's right - how often do you have an AirBnB experience that makes you question where you live (currently San Francisco) and make you realize that there are happier places out there to rest your tired bones? Tara (and Lemon, and Stoli, Katie, Hayley, CT, Andrew, Dustin, Kirsten, Luke...) - you rock. You, potential AirBnB guest: make the right choice. Reserve your spot at Tara's and call it your wisest decision.
Location, location, location! Great condo, comfortable bed, private clean bathroom. Tara is a natural tour guide and host and I felt very much at home in her abode. I would highly recommend this to my friends.
Tara's place was absolutely amazing! I could not have asked for a better experience. The bed was so lovely that I got a full night's sleep the night before my triathlon (highly unusual). Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend, Tara. Can't wait to come back soon!
We had a lovely time at Tara's. As nice as advertised, with a comfy bed, nice sunny sitting areas, and short walk to the beach or a panoramic view of the whole bay. Tara was a great hostess, very friendly and considerate, and we had fun talking to her, meeting some of her friends, and eating a delicious breakfast with home-made biscuits! :)
I really wanted to really experience Capitola, so I searched AirBnB and stayed with Tara for my 2nd AirBnB experience. I requested a same-night booking in the morning, and she responded to me while she was at work. She got to her apartment before I did, and when I showed up I was warmly greeted and fed the best salmon dinner I've ever had. She then took me on a quick tour of Capitola, introducing me to almost everyone. By the end of the tour, I felt very comfortable making my way around. The next morning she made some secret recipe scrambled eggs that were also amazing.
The place is located in the "village" above one of the shops, so the location is perfect. Parking was metered and confusing at first, but then Tara showed me free places to park and introduced me to the ticketing officers and parking was not an issue. There is a nice outdoor fire pit to sit around, large shared living room and dining area, and my own bedroom and bathroom. The shower was particularly nice and the bed soft. I had my own key and spent most of my time running around town like a tourist. It is VERY close to the beach and an easy walk through the shops in downtown.
